The property was exactly as described! It had plenty of amenities, including towels, kitchen wares, comfortable furniture indoors and out, and beach chairs. The location was so convenient to the beaches and to Union Pier. We loved being able to grill and eat on the screen porch!

Lovely spaces indoors with 2 great porches, one screened which was great for family dining and a extensive patio.Easy walk to 2 beautiful public beaches. Plenty of towels, beach towels and beach chairs.Things other guests may want to bring:Coffee filters, paper towels, beach umbrella, small or medium fry/saute pan.

We enjoyed the property thoroughly! The house is super nice and has all kinds of things you'd want (chairs for the beach, books, dvds, games, kitchenware, towels, etc). The rooms are comfortable and having 5 bedrooms with 7 beds means you can bring plenty of people. The location was great! Close to town (walkable to Union Pier) and only 10 min drive to New Buffalo. You can also walk to the smaller beach at the end of the street which was great vs. going to the public New Buffalo beach. The only knock was that the internet was a little slow. Other than that, I'd highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a fun beach vacation.

This was truly an exceptional property and is hands down the best experience I’ve had with a vacation rental. The home is so beautiful, the pictures don’t even do it justice. The layout was great, the location was perfect and we did not want to leave! The host was beyond responsive and so great to deal with. We will definitely be recommending this property to others looking to visit this area and we hope to return ourselves soon!

Came for a Spring Break trip with the 6 kids and wife and had an incredible stay. House was exactly what we were looking for -- spacious, great amenities, 5 min walk to beach, 2 minute walk to town of Union Pier. Host was incredibly responsive. Zero issues with the house. Can't wait to come back!

Summer get away

Wonderful place to stay in Union Pier! We had a group of small kids 3-8 and loved the space, the yard and hot tub are awesome! Spacious enough to fit both families and short walk to the beach, hope to be back soon!

Great stay for a quick weekend getaway

Great location for a weekend getaway since our group had people coming from both Chicago and Detroit. House was exactly as described when booking and communication was always there if you had questions with check-in/check-out. Would highly recommend!

Great Place and Accomodating!

Bernadette was incredibly accommodating of our large group and was very easy to get a hold of if we had any questions! The property was clean, close to the beach, and very enjoyable. Would recommend this property to anyone wanting to stay in New Buffalo who needs space for their group!

Great house and location!

We really enjoyed our stay and Bernadette was wonderful to work with! The house was as it appears in the pictures. It is very clean and spacious. The location was great - just a short walk to the beach. We would definitely stay here again!

Gal's weekend getaway

Lovely home on a large property in a quiet neighborhood. Short walk to one of the nicer beaches in the area. The VRBO owner Bernadette was very responsive and accommodating.

Perfect location and beautiful home

My family had a wonderful stay at Bar Down. We loved the home. We also loved how close it was to the beach and to local coffee shop. Bernadette was super easy to communicate. Already planning to book here next summer.

Great family vacation

We had a great stay! The house was well equipped for our family vacation. Very short walk to the beach and to the little town. Easy drive to New Buffalo, as well. We had a couple rainy days but the house had plenty to do for the kids to stay entertained. We also enjoyed the fire pit at night.
