The location of the place was great. Close to the ballfields we were playing at and not far from downtown or Mount Rushmore. If you're traveling with a group, there are multiple rooms for everyone to have a little personal space even though the footprint isn't very big. It did seem like a few little things could have made it a nicer stay though. The front screen door sticks a lot, a sign says to hand wash dishes even though there is a dishwasher, pasta strainer was old/damaged, and the main toilet needs a repair so that you don't have to mess with the fill valve to be able to flush. Owners were nice when I reached out. I just think some of these things should have been addressed before we rented the place.
Very nice house. Perfect for staying with a second couple when visiting Rapid. Cheaper than getting 2 hotel rooms. Extra room if needed for a child. Everything you need is provided.
Nice backyard to enjoy when visiting with local friends or relatives or just to relax in after a long day. Pet friendly for those who prefer to travel with pets.
The house was clean and there was plenty of room for our family of 5 to sleep and spread out. It bad everything we needed. The fenced in yard is nice and it was a great home base to come back to after daily excursions to National parks, Custer and Mt. Rushmore.
Convenient and quiet location in Rapid City, South Dakota. Good size kitchen and 1 1/2 baths. We used the grill and ate outside our first evening. The air conditioner worked great to keep us cool at night and the water was hot for luxurious showers with the rain showerhead.
This is a great/ comfortable house on its own, but is absolutely perfect for those with dogs. Fenced yard. Nice neighborhood. And a huge park a block away with multiple places to walk the dogs.
We were within easy driving distance to everything one would want to see in this beautiful area of our country. Thank you to our hosts for accommodating us. We truly enjoyed the house.
Awesome host and house! Nice back yard with patio and grill.
Nice big garage, plenty of room for sleeping arrangements, nice modern decor, comfortable beds. A lot of kitchen appliances. Quiet neighborhood and close to grocery store. Our host Leslie gave some great insight and good conversation about the area and the weather.
Overall good property with 3 bdr and a sunroom with sofa sleeper. The living room furniture is different than the pics but had enough seating with 2 loveseats and 2 ottomans. As others mentioned the kitchen has a pub table with 2 bar height chairs so some of us ate in the living room. Two beds were very high so my mom who is 80 and short, could not get up on it. We did get a good laugh but found an ottoman in the 3rd bedroom that we used for her.
some suggestions (of course everyone has their own preference) would be to have a different small kitchen table w/4 chairs, remove some of the living room table decor as it's just more stuff that could break and not needed and have a small coffee maker instead of just the keurig for pods. But that being said, we loved the space and area...clean...so quiet...and saw two deer in the front yard the first day. Hostess was very responsive.
Our family of 6 (2 adults, 15yo, 13yo, 11yo, 11yo) were quite comfortable in this three bedroom, 1.5 bathroom house. After traveling across the country and staying in hotels, we had plenty of room to spread out. The house is located in an established neighborhood with park just a block away. A grocery store was a 5 minute drive.
We had all we needed - plenty of linens and a well-stocked kitchen (though, we never did find a cutting board). As some reviews have stated, there is only a small table with two counter-height chairs. But, there is ample seating in the living room, which has a good-sized coffee table.
The location for us was convenient since we wanted to bounce between the Badlands and the Black Hills. This location is about 45 minutes from Wall Drug and an hour from the Pinnacles park entrance. Going the opposite direction, it took about 35 minutes to get to Mount Rushmore and to Black Hills hikes. Downtown Rapid City is less than 10 minutes and is worth your time to explore. There were several nice shops and restaurants.
Check-in and check-out instructions were very clear.
A great little home base for our family to retreat to after busy days touring the black hills and surrounding area. Very quiet neighborhood with quick access to Mt. Rushmore. Very responsive host and a clean, safe property.
Definitely recommend!
If you have a party bigger than two people eating at the kitchen table is not possible. If the weather is nice enough you will all fit at the table in the back yard.
The property was easy to find and close to restaurants and attractions. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. Would book this property again.
Enjoyed our stay in this rental! Great set up for spending time with our family. Limited seating indoors for meal times but there is a nice patio to use when weather allows. Property owner was very prompt with answering any questions we had and fulfilling a request we had!
My wife and I were in Rapid City for a baseball tournament and some sight seeing. The home was as advertised; very clean, comfortable and had all of the amenities you need for an extended stay. It was close access to many restaurants, and the highways to get to Mt. Rushmore, Custer Park and the Badlands. The neighborhood is quiet and neighbors are friendly. We enjoyed our stay.
We own four vacation rentals, two in Kissimmee FL and two in Rapid City. We've travelled extensively and understand the need for clean, comfortable, well-equipped homes. We're available for any questions you may have.
