✨ Blue Skies Lodge – A Private Stargazing Escape for Couples, Families & Friends
Private star gazing viewing field, hot tub under the stars. Imagine this: you step out onto your deck on a crisp, clear night, the cool air tingling on your skin. Above you, the Milky Way pours across the sky in a dazzling river of light. There’s no traffic noise, no city glare—just the whisper of the wind through the trees and the quiet crackle of the firepit. This is Blue Skies Lodge, your own 55-acre retreat where the stars feel close enough to touch.
Whether you’re planning a romantic escape with someone special, a fun-filled getaway with friends, or a memory-making adventure with family, this cabin offers the perfect mix of comfort, privacy, and wonder. With your exclusive 10-acre stargazing field, you can lay back in the grass or soak in the hot tub while constellations wheel overhead and shooting stars streak across the sky.
Inside, you’ll find a welcoming space that feels like home from the moment you walk in. The fully equipped kitchen invites shared meals—pancake breakfasts, grilled dinners, hot chocolate after a night under the stars. The cabin sleeps up to 6 comfortably, with fresh linens, fluffy towels, and thoughtful touches throughout.
By day, Potter County opens up like a storybook. Just minutes away is Cherry Springs State Park, the gold standard for dark sky viewing in the U.S.—but you won’t even need to leave the property to see the same brilliant display. Explore nearby wonders like the PA Grand Canyon, Kinzua Bridge Skywalk, the historic Austin Dam, and the majestic Pennsylvania Elk Herd. Bring your camera—these are moments worth capturing.
Gather your loved ones around the firepit for s’mores and laughter. Wander the trails hand-in-hand. Watch your children’s faces light up as they spot their first shooting star. Share a glass of wine in the hot tub while the night sky unfolds above you. These are the moments that stay with you long after the trip ends.
📅 2-night stays welcome (occasional single nights—just ask). 🌌 Stay where the stars truly shine—don’t settle for cabins far from the magic.
Blue Skies Lodge isn’t just a place to stay—it’s a place to reconnect, to slow down, and to remember how beautiful the world can be when you step away from the noise and look up.

Everything about this place was wonderful for us! We were there to see the Kinzua Bridge, Elk spotting and star gazing and this location was spot on. The amenities of the property made the vacation better than we imagined. The open field was huge bonus, beautifully surrounded with the fall foliage and stunning at night! Thank you to our host Chris for the timely responses, we had a perfect 4 day adventure!
Property is better than described! Amazing getaway on private 50 acres! Star gazing from the top of the mountain is incredible! Will definitely stay again.
Location is awesome. We were fortunate to have clear skies and the stargazing was unbelievable. Very clean and well stocked house. Highly recommend and we’ll be back!
It was a great place. Very secluded and loved the star gazing field! Very clean! Definitely would return.

Thank you for being our guests and your visit. Please return as you can. So glad you had a great experience. It's amazing at Cherry Springs State Park for your Star Gazing.
This is what I call getting away. My family had a great week from early morning hot tub soaks to family feuds over playing Uno and Monopoly! We only got one clear night in the star gazing field and the moon was a bit to bright but it was still beautiful. The property is clean and well stocked with just about everything you could need! We will definitely be back!

Thank you for your kind words, Kimberly. Blue Skies is our most isolated property. So glad I was able to add to your life. You are welcome back anytime.
The cabin and grounds were superior to both the photos and the written description. Wonderful details that made our stay so wonderful. Even though the sky was not clear we enjoyed our stay greatly.
The property is as beautiful as described! The host is easy to communicate with and very accommodating! Looking forward to spending time here again.

Beautiful cabin and skies!
It was good to spend some time in the woods and get away from our electronics for a few days. The cabin was great and supplied everything you might need (it was nice to not have to worry about packing bedding, towels, kitchen tools, etc.). And, the skies were just incredible.
We had a very relaxing trip and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We definitely plan on returning some day!

Thank you so much for the kind words. The skies were truly amazing that week and we are glad we got to share them with you. Travel safe and know that you are welcome back any time, it was a pleasure to host you and your group. Thank you so much.
This property is amazing and secluded from everything. Perfect Getaway to view the Milky way in the 10 acre field and secluded in the woods. The house is clean and filled with a cabin vibe like no other. Definitely would love to return and experience.

This is the second property I have stayed at that Chris hosts. He is a great host and the properties are amazing. If you want to find a place to stay and just relax and enjoy the beautiful dark skies his properties are fantastic. They are also close enough to enjoy what Potter County has to offer in the form of outdoor recreation. Looking forward to returning to the area.
The house is awesome, with so many nice little homey touches like the coffee bar, that made us feel really welcome. We loved stargazing in the field and hiking the trails on the property. We were there for our anniversary and I wish we could have stayed longer, but it was the perfect place for us to get away from everything. Chris was really super helpful with his communication. I hope we can come back soon!
The accommodations were very comfortable. While the surroundings were quiet and secluded, the small towns of northern PA were close by and we could enjoy shopping and dining there without spending all day driving around. The firepit and stargazing field were great. One word of advice: if you're really there to see the stars, be sure to schedule to be there during the new moon.

Thank you for being our guests and your kind comments. So glad you had a great experience. It's amazing at Cherry Springs State Park.
We got to see an insane amount of stars, relax, cook out, and have fires without seeing another person the entire stay. The location of this cabin is unreal. The pictures truly don’t do this place justice. It’s beautiful and a great getaway for the family. Super easy to get in touch with management as well! We had a great time and we will be back.

My family and I had a weekend getaway here. We enjoyed the house, the board games, and exploring the property. If you’re in need of some relaxation and quiet this is a great place to do it. The driveway is very long, just keep going, you’ll get there. The Austin dam is minutes down the road, the Potter County Pub is 10 minute drive and a great place for food and drinks.
This is a very private property with lovely, cozy accommodations. Even though the super moon made Star-gazing less than ideal, we could not have had a better long weekend in this wonderful place. Chris was a wonderful host - excellent communications and check in was seamless. We had everything needed to cook and the beds were super comfy. And the hot tub!!! Awesome! Thank you for sharing your incredible property with us; it brought us a lot of happiness!
We loved this cabin. It was a rainy weekend but there were so many things to discover in the cabin! We played board games and foosball. Then we took a quick hour drive to Benezette to see elk. The kids couldn’t wait to get back to the cabin. Thanks Chris
This place is even better than the reviews suggest. It’s on an absolutely beautiful piece of property with miles of trails. The stargazing field was perfect for yard games in the afternoons and spreading out a blanket to look at stars at night. It’s definitely rural, but we brought lots of food and drinks and hunkered down and just had the most perfect stay. It has everything you would need for a stay and was very clean and comfortable. Highly recommend!

About the host
Hosted by Chris
Potter County and the PA Wilds are the most sparsely populated areas in the entire state of Pennsylvania, offering breathing room and a chance to slow down and escape from your routine.
Why they chose this property
Potter County, with its rolling hills and star-filled skies, is one of the most beautiful areas of Pennsylvania. We came here on vacation many years ago, and fell in love. Now we want to share it with you.
What makes this property unique
Cherry Springs State Park is a Star Gazers Paradise. 'On top of the world', is the feeling you get at this mountain-top retreat, where stars are your nightlights, birdsong is your alarm clock, and crickets chirp you to sleep. The remoteness of the location will enable you to consider the magnificence of the heavens, view wildlife in their natural habitat, and allow you to truly relax.
