About this property
Newly renovated home in Harbor Springs is perfect for your ski, or beach getaway
Modern cabin in a quiet neighborhood has vaulted ceiling, loft and updated kitchen. A rugged yet refined house, you are less than 2 miles from Nubs Nob and Boyne Highlands Ski resort, Michigan's premier skiing and golf destinations.
Come and walk the woods in the fall and have an outdoor fire in our fire pit. Entertain on the deck, or just enjoy being outside in a peaceful setting. Come for a weekend getaway this winter and sit by the fire and watch the snow showers, or go ahead and make it a ski weekend. Come in the spring as the trillium appears along the wooded trails and see Orioles come to nest and start their families. Or best of all, come this summer and hang out at the the Petoskey State park beach which is only 5 miles away.
Shop, have dinner, or go see a movie in downtown Harbor Springs. Maybe check out Petoskey the next day. Charlevoix is a nice 25 minute drive up the coast of Little Traverse Bay.
Love wine? come check out the growing wineries in the region. Have a boat? Plenty of inland lakes like Crooked, Burt, or Walloon lake with public access and the world's cleanest fresh water. Or go for a bike ride on the many paved public access trails throughout the region. don't forget you can snowmobile too if you are up for it. Get up here!

Why they chose this property
Originally from down state, but living in D.C. for the last 12 years, I found myself coming to Harbor Springs every summer to visit friends. Year after year, I couldn't wait for August to come around so I could head up north for a week of hanging out on the deck, getting on the boat, running the trails, and laying out on the beach.
I've lived out west and on the east coast, and while there are special places all over this country, nothing really compares to northern Michigan. The biggest draw for me by far is the unspoiled beautifully blue fresh water lakes in the area. But the uncrowded, unspoiled charm of the area, and the variety of ways to escape the responsibilities of the real word is what I think makes this area more special than anywhere else.
No doubt, the Petoskey state beach is my favorite, but bike riding the Little Traverse Wheelway is becoming a close second favorite thing to do. We just bought a paddle board, and we love to ski. Harbor Springs and Petoskey are the coolest towns. But sitting by the fireplace while it's quietly snowing outside and doing nothing is probably the best way to relax around here.

What makes this property unique
What I love about our house is the rustic charm. So different from the typical drywall living spaces that city people see day in and out. This place has a vaulted ceiling, and cedar walls that glow in a rustic way that most places don't. We just renovated it, so it has all the modern convivences and comforts, but still feels like you are in a cabin. I super happy with the results. Especially the kitchen. Great place to cook and socialize.
And getting here always reminds you how far you really are from the "real" world. The neighborhood is mostly vacation homes, so it's really quiet. If you stay up, step outside and see the stars in an area unspoiled by light pollution.
If you are looking for a getaway, you can't do better. If you've ever had the chance to take a break where it is quiet and green with forest, and bright with stars, but yet so close to charming towns and great restaurants, you'd understand what makes a place like this so unique.
Or if you prefer, you are only a 30 minute drive from Mackinac Island. A perfect tourism spot to sightsee.
