Check in was very easy and the house is in a lovely neighborhood with a great view of the lake. The "bunk room" was actually a curtained off section of the downstairs living area, rather than an actual room with a door, so that was not quite what we saw in the photos, and made for a stuffy and not very private sleeping area for three in our group. The other bedrooms were fine.Just after we arrived at 7 pm, there was a power outage, and it lasted until 1:40 am. The day had been very hot and the house temperature was probably close to 80, so when power was restored, the AC system never caught up -- we set it at 74 (minimum temp allowed by hosts), and it never got below 76. The power outage was certainly no fault of the hosts, and they communicated quickly and had flashlights at the ready, but the older AC system didn’t have a chance. The most frustrating part of our stay were the ants that were all over the kitchen when we got there. We used the Raid can found under the sink liberally, but it didn't deter them for long. They got into food we'd put into a cabinet and were in the back bedrooms and bathroom by the 2nd day. We appreciated that the hosts sent over their cleaning/maintenance people to help us, but they came with just a second can of Raid and these ants needed more than that.Needless to say, we were happy to leave after two nights. Hosts were very responsive (more than we could be while working in the mountains all day) and did what they could.
