My family loved our stay! The property is tucked away and private so the kids could play outside, but it’s still easy enough to get to town. The house was very clean and comfortable, and the host was very helpful and responsive. We’re hope this property is available again the next time we’re in the area!
Loved our stay. The property is very clean and has a beautiful yard.

Robert’s place was a delightful surprise! The house was very clean upon arrival and very spacious. It was perfect set up for our two families to each have their own space while visiting. My son loved having his own space in the bunk bed room. The beach access was wonderful and we loved checking out all the surprises while the tide was out, we even got to catch a glimpse of Mt Rainer!it would definitely be worth a trip back to stay at Robert’s place again. My only suggestion would be a higher lock on the door to outside in the bunk bed room. I was able to block off the door with our tall suitcase because my 4yo son insisted on sleeping in the bunk bed. Overall a wonderful stay!
Exactly as described and all information from Robert was super helpful! We had a small group of adults and really enjoyed our experience especially the beach and proximity to local seafood markets!
The location was perfect for us. It was so quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed walking the path down to the beach which had a beautiful view. We loved seeing the deer family in the yard.
We loved our stay. The woods, the beach, the driveway in…it’s all divine! The house is cozy and the bed is comfortable! We enjoyed having family out to play badminton. I highly recommend staying here. We didn’t want to leave!
Convenient home close to beautiful inlets and nature
Very nice owners and a home conveniently located to accessing the water, beaches, and tidelands nearby. Home has all the basics, including nice beds and a large TV with all the apps for movies. Coffee and wine were on the counter when we arrived, which was a lovely touch.
It was awesome. Secluded yet not too far from town and my son who lives in Shelton. It was great to take a walk to the shore which was an adventure walk with blackberries and sweetpeas. The high tide and low tides were an adventure especially as it was full moon. The surprise on the last few days was the view of Mt. Rainer. Thank you Robert for a great place to stay will be telling friends about it
Stay was very good. Nice place for a dog. Quiet and clean. Only suggestions are to provide more kitchen items..I.e cheese grater, colander and cooking/salad bowls.
We stayed at this home for a month in between selling our home and buying our next one. We really enjoyed Shelton—nice people, fun restaurants.
Our host, Robert, was extremely nice and was very responsive to our questions. He also welcomed our two pets!
Had a wonderful month living right on the Puget Sound. The house had everything we needed to make it feel like home. We enjoyed seeing Mount Rainier from the backyard on clear days, going out in our kayak, and harvesting our own oysters from the beach walkable from the house. We were so sad to go and would definitely come back!
Wanted a house on the water for a few days before our Alaska cruise. The house was just what we wanted. The black berrys and hummingbird show was an unexpected bonus. The drive to the ferry was very scenic and the ferry got us within a few blocks of our ship and parking. Thank you for being a great part of our adventure.
Robert's guest house was a great choice for our 6 weeks stay in the Olympia area. The house was comfortable, tastefully decorated and uncluttered, with tons of storage. Additional perks were the Weber grill and LG Bluetooth sound bar. The location is a lovely private setting about 15 minutes from Shelton and 30 to Olympia. We were lucky to catch the Lavender and Dahlia farms in full bloom! If well water is not to your taste, you may want to buy filtered. We would definitely stay here again if in the area. Thanks for everything Robert!
This is information for future bookers as I didn't read the listing very carefully and came across things that were surprising to me.The upstairs bedroom has no door and thus you can hear everything that is happening downstairs. The top bunk of the bed is very hard to access as There are ceiling lights that are in the way and it is very close to the ceiling. In order to get to 1 of the rooms, you have to pass through another bedroom first.

Hi Alice, thanks for your review. The top of the bunk bed does not count towards the 6 beds and is an extra (really meant for an extra kid). Upstairs bedroom is a loft style and hence does not have a door (occupies entire floor). Pictures show it but I will make that more clear in the description.
Super clean and charming little cottage. Quirky set up, but very usable. Only glitch was the additional money that was due that no explanation was offered from either the host or.VRBO. I paid it but still have questions. We reserved from the three June 3-6.

The beautiful view of the water was blocked by another house… And in order to access the water, you had to cross private property to get to a private beach that belongs to other property owners. The house itself smelled so strongly of scented cleaning chemicals that it made me physically ill and we didn’t end up staying our second night. Every room had a different scent. From the carpet to the linens and even the furniture. The floor next to the sliding glass door also seemed to be rotting or eaten away by carpenter ants(saw a few on the patio). It would give dramatically every time you stepped in it and the door wouldn’t close right. Another odd thing, one of the bedrooms was only accessible through another bedroom. Fine for kids I guess, but wasn’t disclosed in the description. During our 2 night stay, landscapers showed up on Saturday and we had to contact the host. It was incredibly disruptive.

Thank you for your review. We aim to to have the property description as accurately and detailed as possible so that expectations meet reality as best as they can. Clearly we have failed in your case. But to be fair, some of your concerns are clearly stated: yes, it is not a waterfront property, yes the short, scenic walk to the water is shared (but chances are you will never see anyone on the beach or the path), yes, the bunk bed room is accessed through another bedroom... The clean smell I have not noticed but will ask the cleaners to take it easy on cleaning products. As for the lawn mowing, they stopped and I rescheduled them as soon as you called me. Maybe not quite as dramatic as you make it sound...
We had a great stay, everything was as described, so nice to see the sun on the water (July visit) in the late afternoon. For us, as a getaway, it was perfect.
It was a joy to stay at this property. The driveway to the house was beautiful if a little steep. It made for a great morning hike. Very quiet and peaceful. We even had a deer visit us in the yard a few times.
