Our stay was great here! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. The only downside I would have to say is the hot tub was not the cleanest and the smell of sulfur coming from the house water was really bad. Other than that it was great and I would stay at this place again.
We had a great time in this cozy cabin. There are plenty of beds, bedrooms and bathrooms for everyone. The hot tub was wonderful under the stars. We had fun in the game room, by the fireplace and fixing meals.
The property was all that we hoped for! I would recommend it to all. Recommendations for the bunk house: replace the screen above the garage door. Large hole made it not usable to ventilate the sleeping area. Water pressure in shower was nonexistent?
The location of the house was great‼ Lots of amenities. A hop skip and a jump to Brundage, Tamarack, and the ice skating rink in McCall. We did not realize the area with the bunks and recreation room was not attached to the main house, but it worked out. Thank you for the opportunity to enjoy the valley and ski resorts.
The cabin was amazing. It was absolutely beautiful with the snow. My husband and I got to sit in the hot tub while it was snowing. It was so nice having a separate space to play games and not have to worry about being too loud and waking up my babies. I want to go back in the summer so we can grill on the back deck and use the fire pit!

Great place for a larger group
We had 9 people, three adults, 3 teens and 3 young kids. This place worked out wonderfully for us. The teens stayed in the bunk house, the young kids and adults stayed in the main cabin. We enjoyed the hot tub and private location away from others. We were disappointed there wasn’t a grill on the patio and we couldn’t locate a high chair but overall everything else was great. We would definitely stay here again in the future.

Sarah,
Thanks for staying! The barbecue was in the garage, so I pulled it out and put it on the deck for future guest stays- glad you mentioned that. The high chair is in the laundry room, next to the washer and dryer. I’ll see about putting it somewhere easier to locate. Future guests- please reach out if you have questions and I’ll respond right away. If something is difficult to locate, I’m happy to explain where it is. 🙂
We had a great time with friends. Water is not good for drinking, and almost not good enough to shower with. Drinking water was easy to overcome. The layout is great for a large group, plenty of beds. BBQ needs the burners replaced, should have checked before grocery purchase. Cleaning could be better.

Thank you for your feedback. We're glad you enjoyed your stay and found the layout worked well for your group. Regarding the BBQ, we noticed the propane tank had been swapped during your visit. As noted on the grill instructions, changing the tank incorrectly can trigger a low flame safety mode. We wish this had been mentioned during your stay, as we’re always happy to help troubleshoot in real time. We appreciate your notes and will pass them along to our team.

Very clean property
The house was incredibly clean. It was comfortable for our party EXCEPT that the bunk room is not attached to the main house. That was a little disappointing for our family. There were some other appliance issues but the hot tub was clean and functional.
nice property, thought it was closer to McCall,tv in master suite, was confusing just the roku, pantry closet door locked so could not access it other wise things were good thank you
This cabin worked great for our family. Plenty of space and a great location.
The cabin is on a well, so the smell was a bit over powering at times. Also, with the hottub, we were pulling out clumps of hair and the scum bug that floats in the tub was filthy, very moldy. It definitely needs to be replaced, as well as probably a water/filter change.
These items did not ruin our stay one bit though! The cabin was great!!!

Dena- Glad to hear you had an amazing stay! We've never put a scum bug in that hot tub, so maybe that was something one of your guests brought? The hot tub guy checked it out right away and there wasn't one in the tub after your departure. The water filter system needed to be regenerated, which was immediately addressed and set on a timer. Thanks again for staying at Mountain Retreat!
This property exceeded my expectations! The home and bunkhouse were immaculate, which is a very huge thing for me. They had everything from dishes to extra towels. Being able to be outside using the grill to sitting around the camp fire and then enjoying the hot tub! Our older kids loved the bunk house and only came into the house to eat and hang out with us for a bit. The second day the heater wasn’t working so I texted the out of hours number and they got back to me in less than 5 minutes and sent someone right over and within 30min it was fixed! We will definitely be back and this time for longer!! Thank yall so much for such an amazing stay!!!
The house was clean, nice, and comfortable for our group of 8 adult women. We used the main house plus the bunk room which is mostly comfortable (one of the top bunks had a very thin hard mattress on it but the rest were good. I slept on one of the bottom bunks and it was extremely comfortable). Just for information, the bunk room is in a detached garage so to get to the main house you need to walk outside across the uncovered driveway. There was snow on the ground while we were there so it wasn't super convenient as we needed to put boots on to get to the coffee pot in the morning :) There is a full bath in the bunkroom so that was convenient. The main house has 2 full baths plus a powder room along with 3 bedrooms. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. Do know that the keurig coffee maker doesn't work so bring grounds for the drip coffee maker!
We had a wonderful stay at this mountain cabin! It was the perfect place for our family gathering. The large common areas gave everyone plenty of space to relax, and we especially loved the dining table—it was big enough for all of us to eat together and spend hours playing games. The hot tub and fire pit were great additions and made for relaxing evenings, and there were plenty of comfortable beds for everyone. The cabin was very clean and the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to prepare meals. The location was also ideal, with easy drives to McCall, Donnelly, and Cascade, making it a great home base for exploring the area. The only small issue we had was figuring out the air conditioning. We should have asked for the access code sooner, but once we reached out, the hosts responded quickly and got us what we needed right away.Overall, this was a fantastic place to stay, and we’d happily recommend it to families or larger groups looking for a comfortable mountain getaway.
We throughly enjoyed our stay at this property. The cabin is well maintained and spacious, and well stocked with everything we needed for two families. The teens in our group loved staying in the bunkhouse. The property is in a great location and was a short and easy drive to visit McCall.
Very nice! Nice hot tub, comfortable beds. Appreciated the cleanliness of the cabin! A couple things that would make it even nicer would be a new patio door and screen, lights on the patio and some type of air conditioning. 🌲🏠🌲
We rented the Frost cabin as it was near a family wedding. Friends and family got together in this beautiful cabin. It was clean and comfortable for all. The teens loved the game area with the pingpong and air hockey.
