Spacious 1800 sg. ft. and Newly restored 1870s townhome in the heart of historic Mainstrasse Village, walking distance to area restaurants and downtown Cincinnati. Enjoy all the charm of the Village, the Goose Girl fountain a block away, and Goebel Park a few steps away. Plus all that downtown Cincinnati have to offer! Just off the interstate, and very close to the Wade Bailey Bridge (US 25), which offers a super easy route into downtown Cincy. This is a building built in the 1870s with lots of charm, but also lots of stairs, some of them a bit steep; it may not be a good fit for anyone with mobility issues. There is a restaurant on the first floor of the building with great food.

Xavier Graduation

Surprise festival going on during our stay so be careful about this when booking as it made it a bit difficult to get to the place.. ie; walked with all our luggage a half mile through a festival! It all worked out though! Owner helped best he could!

Lovely 3 bedroom 3 bath with room for all

This was the second part of our summer vacation. We stayed here two nights, went to a Reds game and the Cincinnati Museum Center. We ate at the restaurant downstairs and had ice cream at the place next door. Both were good. The house was spacious and worked great for us. I think walking to the stadium would have been a bit much at 1.5 miles with two kids in 90 temps but I guess it would work for some! There is some active nightlife late at night in the area but we felt more than safe in our house and had all we needed. The house was clean and all instructions were great!

Great Location and Super Roomy!

We had plenty of room for 6 of us! We loved the location. It was convenient to walk around Covington and drive into Cincinnati. We enjoyed exploring the area right around and my kids had ice that they enjoyed from Piper's. Thanks for having us!

Great Location

Access to restaurants, park and highway makes rental property a desirable location. Stairs are somewhat challenging if you are not in decent shape.

Great location!

Nice place, plenty of room!!! Very easy to access. Location could not have been better. Wonderful restaurants within walking distance. Literally within the block. Had some really great food at decent prices. Everyone having their own bathroom was perfect. Beds were so comfortable- we all slept well. I would stay again.

Comfy and spacious, great location

We stayed here while we visited the area to see the Ark and Creation museum, and the Cincinnati Zoo. We loved the central location in a charming historic downtown neighborhood. The house had everything we needed, we all agreed it was so much better than staying in a hotel because it felt like home. Thanks so much!

Creation vacation

Our family stayed while visiting the Creation Museum and The Ark, it was conviently located with east access on and off the freeway with plenty to do close by. Not for elderly or anyone who has trouble climbing stairs. Great family vacation. Thank you

Fit our needs well

Weekend get away for UC Family Weekend. Advertisement was accurate with the steps, older home (built in late 1800’s), so lots of narrow steps to get around but we were fine with them. Cute home, clean, pretty quiet even though you are above a restaurant. We heard my street traffic more than anything but not bad at all. Directions were excellent to get there and park. Great, safe neighborhood. Beds are comfortable, the only thing I would recommend is maybe a few more pillows for each bed.

Fabulous everything!

This place was fantastic! Great location and there are plenty of restaurants and stores to walk to. There is a park for kids just across the street. It is on top of a Mexican restaurant and has an ice cream shop just next door. You park in the back or on the street in front and the door is to the side if the Mexican restaurant and is completely safe. There are stairs to get to the apartment and stairs inside to upstairs bedrooms that are a little steep so if you can’t do stairs for a long period of time you could sleep in the downstairs bedroom. It’s old and beautiful, remember to keep all doors closed at all times and you will have no issues with rooms staying cool. We absolutely loved it and if ever in the area again will definitely stay here again!

What a great place!!

We really enjoyed our stay in Covington. The apartment was very comfortable and clean. As others noted, there are stairs in the entry and to the upper bedrooms, but nothing we didn’t expect. It’s an old, but very cool and charming, older building. The Mainstrasse Village is very walkable with lots of restaurants nearby. We walked to and from a Reds game. It’s not far and it’s really cool walking across the Roebling Suspension Bridge (replica of the Brooklyn Bridge). You get a really nice view of the stadium, especially at night. We spent a day at the zoo as well. One of the prettiest, shady zoos I’ve ever been to. Highly recommend this great place if you’re visiting in the Cincinnati area.

A long weekend getaway.

The communication from the owner was very thorough and helpful. The windows in the house are very old and thus they did not block out any of the street noise. With the house being so close to many restaurants and bars the street noise was quite loud at times and late into the night. Also, with the cooler weather, the windows were very drafty and we had to cover up one window to cut the draft. That being said, the house is in a good area with a park around the corner and lots of walkers, near many nice restaurants. We enjoyed the historical house and the updates were very well done. The kitchen was spacious, the three full bathrooms were great, and the bedrooms were very nice. The dinning room/game room had a large table which was nice, but that room could use some additional lighting as it was quite dark. The original floors look nice and the washer and dryer workef well.

Overall great

First off, Mainstrasse Village is a very cool, walkable neighborhood and we were very pleased that we chose to stay in this area. The property was very much as described. There are quite a few steps. We didn’t find them problematic and thought they added to the charm of the older home. The property was extremely clean and well stocked with paper products, shampoo, coffee, etc. You can hear music from the Mexican restaurant downstairs, but it goes away by 10 pm and it did not bother us - also their food is delicious. Our only minor issues were that the internet is quite slow which didn’t cause much of a problem except that my husband needed to do some work on his computer and it wasn’t fast enough to keep him connected. He was able to resolve by connecting through his phone. Our other minor issue was a small issue with the bed downstairs. It is a private room with a door, so no problem there. I had hoped one of my teenage daughters would sleep there, but neither wanted to sleep downstairs alone, so my husband and I got the downstairs room. The mattress is extremely comfortable, firm foam, but it is like a futon and has a “joint” where is converts from sofa to bed. It is perfectly comfortable for one person or 2 smaller people who like to snuggle on 2/3 of the bed, but we are not smaller people or snugglers, so I found sleeping on the “joint” uncomfortable and wound up sleeping on the sofa. It wasn’t bad at all, just not ideal. Lastly, communication with the manager/ owner was very good. I would definitely recommend this property and look forward to returning to the area.

Girls weekend

We had a fantastic weekend. We had a group of 9 ladies for the Cincy open. This location was perfect for walking downtown Covington for dinner and drinks and across the river to downtown Cincy for sightseeing and entertainment. Anthony went out of his way to help keep one of our girls shoes safe when they were delivered early. We stayed in both units and enjoyed the connecting balcony where we drank coffee in the morning and wine at night. This is my 2nd time to stay at Anthony's Air bnb. It has plenty of room and plenty of bathrooms. Mexican restaurant below and ice cream next door. I mean , what more could you ask for???

Dissatisfied

We were disappointed with this Vrbo. The bathroom in the upstairs did not have a working shower, which made it difficult for all of us staying in the home to get ready. The AC was also not able to keep up with the heat outside, meaning the coolest we were able to make the house was 75. The WiFi was also very slow, making it difficult to watch tv or use our phones. The vrbo shares a stairway with another home, making it loud at times. The beds were comfortable and it is located in a prime location, but we would not stay here again.

Fun quaint place

It was a little different to get to, but we figured it out pretty quickly. It was nice to see all of the charm this place had to offer. It was clean and we were able to find the items we needed to cook, clean up and sleep and bathe. I would recommend this listing to anyone...and I would stay there again if I am out that way!!!

We are from Lexington, Kentucky, but love all that Greater Cincinnati has to offer. We enjoy the Reds, and the Bengals, but also the arts. Cincinnati has a great ballet, a well regarded symphony orchestra, and the second oldest Opera company in the United States.

Why they chose this property

We feel in love with Mainestrasse Village in Covington, the first time we sat foot there. The are few neighborhoods of this vintage in America so well preserved and intact. There's always something to do in the Village, and downtown Covington is happening as well. You can hop on the trolley and go to downtown Cincinnati or Newport without having to drive or park.

What makes this property unique

For starters it''s really large compared to other vacation rentals that sleep 6. If you close the door to the front parlor, you have 3 full bedrooms and 3 full baths. You can enjoy the charm and ambiance of an historic old home in an historic area, without sacrificing modern amenities like updated plumbing, updated fully functional kitchen, and central heat and air. Located in Mainstrasse Village, Covington, an area known for food, drink, and fun, as well as proximity to downtown Cincinnati and all the arts, museums, sports, and more . . . just ask yourself, why not have it all. If the weather is nice you can enjoy the balcony overlooking Gobbels Park, listen to the bell tower, and survey the beautiful beautiful boulevard that is 6th Street.
