Island Winds West is a family-friendly beachfront resort that is within walking distance of fine-dining, shopping and concert/festival venues. Some activities include: charter fishing boats, boat & jet ski rentals, Para-sailing, dolphin cruises, sunset sailboat cruises, beautiful back bays for boating, tubing, skiing and fishing, amusement parks, great restaurants with entertainment for all ages, golf, outlet malls, live concerts at The Wharf Amphitheater, and of course, plenty of sugary sand beaches.

Fall break with the grandkids

We had a great stay. Condo was very clean with awesome beach views from our balcony. Loved the reclining sectional sofas in the living room. Location was near some good restaurants in Gulf Shores. Would highly recommend this condo and will definitely book again.

Best location in Gulf Shores

Even though we had really bad traffic driving down, it was absolutely wonderful coming in to a clean condo with everything listed on the website. They had luggage carts and shopping carts available, which helped me immensely with three adults, and two children. The lobby was clean, security was around at all times, the beach was so accessible in the pool was lovely. I would suggest this location and this management company to friends and family. I would actually stay here again.

Location is amazing!!! The floors were dirty when we got there. They looked like it was swept, but wasn’t mopped. I think if they had it professionally painted it would look fantastic. It looks like a toddler painted the walls. Kitchen is stocked with everything you need. We could walk to places and grocery store was. Very close drive.

We really enjoyed staying here. So pretty inside and super convenient to everything. Be aware that HOA apparently controls parking and they charge you almost 50 dollars per spot if you don’t rent directly from the building. This was not clear to us so unhappy about that. Otherwise pool was nice beach was great. Would recommend to friends or family.

The o my disappointment was the parking passes. We didn’t realize we had to pay extra and that we couldn’t get a 3rd one. Other than that we had an amazing time and enjoyed the place tremendously

The property is very nice and spacious. It's right on the Gulf. This unit has a balcony that is twice as large as most other units in this complex. The only issues we had was that we couldn't get the recliners on one of the couches to recline. It didn't look like there were any nearby electrical outlets to plug it in. It has one cabinet in the kitchen that the top edge is peeling up. Neither of these bothered us. The only thing I would recommend is to install curtains to cover the windows in the bedrooms. We would have preferred to sleep later, but there was too much light coming in. I would consider renting this condo again.

The view from the balcony and the living room was wonderful. The balcony door was very very stiff and hard to open. The dish network was very difficult to access in living room and the bedroom next to the hall bathroom.The tub in the master bath was slow to drain. The pkg in receptacles in the MBR sometimes didn't work right. The mattress in the MBR needs replaced.On entry into the room from the outside there was a sharp musty odor... just when entering. Did not smell it in the rest of the condo. MBR had sand in the floor. Otherwise the rest of the condo was clean.

Checkin problems

We had some major check-in problems. (The guest before us we’re refusing to leave and cops had to be called) The property manager and the place we rented through did an amazing job and we’re extremely apologetic. They compensated us extremely well and made sure we were taken care of. I would definitely rent from them again. They couldn’t help that the previous renters were ridiculous. So just wanted to say thanks again for being so apologetic and caring towards your guest. We will most definitely rent again.

Fabulous view. Great location.

Front and center view of the beach! Walking distance to gift shops, liquor store, The Hangout (super fun, upbeat restaurant with great food and entertainment). Parking pass for a week was only $45. We brought our own bc it wasn’t in the listing, but there was a highchair, beach toys and boogie boards in a closet! Wish had known and could’ve packed less. The outlets are tricky. Make sure switches are turned on and then they work for a bit and may just stop randomly. Didn’t figure out why- just switched to a different outlet. Plenty of extra pillows and blankets. Some of the handles were coming off the pans. If you need a big skillet- bring it, only small ones. The wheel kept falling out of one of the kitchen chairs- just pushed it back in. Comfy place! Had a great time! Pool was nice and warm. Would definitely recommend!

Really good location. Right on the beach. Nice building that was within walking distance of restaurants and stores. The condo was big and roomy for our family of 7. Overall it was good but the condo could definitely use some updating in the bedrooms and bathrooms.

Beautiful view of the gulf!

Condo was clean, and had plenty of bed space for 6 adults. The view of the beach was great. We had an electrical issue and maintenance came and fixed it. The pots and pans are a bit rusty and need replaced. The washer and dryer setup is not good at all. hard to get clothes in and out of washer. dryer doesn't dry clothes very well. We still had a great time.
