Designed by Palmer & Krisel, built by Alexander, and the former hangout for the Rat Pack and the Stars. This bungalow-style unit is set quietly away from the main drag and Palm Canyon Drive - the perfect location with no one above or below you, and easy direct access to and from your vehicle with no stairs & no gates to access, and free parking for you. This condo was featured on the 2017 & 2023 Modernism Tours and the complex now has a Historic Designation!

Magnificent San Jacinto mountain and palm tree views to be enjoyed from the unit and the oversized patio. Your stay includes FREE high-speed wifi & cable and ALL utilities plus all the amenities such as the champagne cork shaped pool and the 2 hot-tub spas. Luxury king-sized bed and fresh linens, 2 Smart TVs, oversized private patio that runs the length of the condo, a Gas BBQ, and more! Well appointed kitchen is fully outfitted for a short or long stay. Vita-Mix for smoothies & Pina Coladas, Keurig, coffee maker, and French Press, Full-size Stove & Fridge, and the list goes on. Also, a Brand New Full-Size Front-Load LG Washer & Dryer inside the condo unit!

Featuring the largest pool in the area, and 2 big flower-shaped hot tubs with awesome jets. This historically significant property is attributed to famous desert architect William Krisel and was originally owned by Gene Autry as a hotel back in the day.
Tons of fabulous MCM history here, and of course the classic mid-century vibe everyone wants for their Palm Springs visit.

The Ace Hotel, Saguaro, Sparrows, Koffi, Elmers, Purple Room, and Smoke Tree marketplace are all very close by (within walking /biking distance), and we are on the bus line to outstanding dining, shopping, downtown, and countless tourist destinations, golf, museums, arts, festivals, concerts, tournaments. Modernism Week, Pride festivities, BNP Paribas Open, Film Festival, Coachella, Stagecoach, American Express Classic, Acrisure Arena, Polo Fields, Firebirds, Car Shows, Agua Caliente, amd new Disney complex coming soon, etc.

The property was perfect for us. It was well stocked, clean, bright and in a great location close to golf, hiking, biking and restaurants. Also near wonderful neighborhoods for walking. The pool and sauna areas were large and not very crowded. Host was very responsive, proactive and helpful. Very enjoyable stay!

Sarah was fantastic to communicate with, the place was clean, there were lots of lots of lovely touches like snacks and local info and the bed was extremely comfortable. The location between the Ace and Saguaro was perfect for us, will definitely be back.

We LOVE the Desert and all the variety it offers year 'round! We split our time between Palm Springs, Kirkland Washington, and Chelan Washington. Rich loves playing his Blues harmonicas and sitting in on local jams, working on his golf game, and home remodeling projects. Sarah loves showing off the best of the Coachella Valley to friends and visitors, and travelling back and forth between SEA & PSP for real estate clients. Both of us love to try new restaurants, shopping local and we love consignment stores, exploring the region, and we are just trying to be the person our Jack Russell thinks we are by keeping his life fun and interesting! Our boy Hooch, age 13 1/2, is a good traveler and is always with one of us helping to share our day.

Why they chose this property

There is so much to love about the Ocotillo complex - the neighborhood and gigantic pool are tops! We belong to the Twin Palms neighborhood, and its wonderful to stroll with a beverage and our dog and look at all the cool MCM architecture - holiday lights are superb in this area. Also, its such an easy spot to be to walk or jump the bus to anywhere we want to go Downtown, so technically you don't need a car if you get a rideshare from the airport. Its not a party scene at this complex - definitely the place to relax and recharge.

What makes this property unique

The amazing champange cork shaped pool and flower shaped hot tubs are the bees knees - it's obvious this was the cool cat / Rat Pack joint back in the day, and its still fabulous today!
Fun Facts: Our condo has been on the Modernism Week Tours, and designer William Krisel even autographed the inside of our vintage kitchen cabinets about 10 years ago.
Our condo has the advantage of having an exterior entrance, not relying on an access gate or a long walk from parking, so its direct and easy access to/from your vehicle. Super spot to reset, renew, and get your relaxation on.....
