Family vacation

My family went on our first family vacation and it had enough space! The beach was just a less than five minute walk! The bathroom were a little small but we could use them comfortably enough!

Cozy family cottage

The whole family loved the quaintness and comfort of this beach cottage. We found it to be clean and well equipped with plenty of room for 8 adults and 3 children, 5-11. There was plenty of room for us to spread out, and close to the beach. Thanks for making our family gathering a great success!

Ruined vacation

Upon checking into this cottage, we noticed a strong sewage smell coming from the basement. We found that the basement toilet and shower had flooded all over the floor. It was obvious that water had seeped under the basement flooring. We called property management 2x before someone showed up. Maintenance identified the issue, which was the pump for the bathroom had backed up causing the

Great for family with kids

Pros: kitchen is well stocked and good size; deck is awesome & includes a kids' picnic table; dining area is spacious w/sturdy chairs and a kids' table; living room and front porch are spacious; lots of toys, books & games for kids; wagon for hauling stuff to beach Cons: stairs to basement not safe (don't recommend for kids or seniors) therefore, all 8 of us used the shower upstairs (which was manageable); concrete in front & back badly need power washing; beds are okay, but only one was truly comfortable; would look better if planters on deck had flowers instead of weeds

Beach family home

Our family loved the home & location over all. The house had about everything we needed to be comfortable. The kids loved the little pool table ( even though the pockets were ripped- we tried to fix them with duct tape) The 2 downstairs bedroom doors wouldn’t close ( they need to be fixed due to house settling) The upstairs deck was filthy when we arrived- the furniture was really dirty and the deck was covered in bird waste which we had to clean so it wouldn’t be tracked in the kitchen. We really could have used a bucket to help facilitate that but did find a large pot that we filled with water & splashed on the deck & furniture to sweep with the broom to help clean it. The next morning it rained so we swept the remaining dirt away. We only had 1 extra roll of toilet paper and paper towels so we did have to buy more. Overall our family & 4 grandkids loved this home and would definitely book it again for our next trip to Michigan City.

The bathroom going to basement was odd but never was a problem. Basement steps are a little treacherous but we had old and young and managed very carefully. The location is very close to everything and the beach was great!

Reviewer Comments: This was for an annual vacation for us to be with our kids,their spouses and the grandkids. This house was perfect for gathering together. very clean inside Nice size dining room and living room. Nice modern kitchen Five bedrooms great for kids and adults. Bathrooms were clean with good showers. Only draw back was the half bath was open to the stairway to the basement. It was within easy walking distance to the sandy beach of Lake Michigan. Was very impressed on how clean the water and beach area was. Lots of nice restaurants and a wonderful zoo for all ages which was within walking distance. All in all it worked out great for our family with ages ranging from senior citizens,adults,teenagers to 6 years old.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was very clean and the location was great! Short walk to the beach. Beachwalk company is always responsive and helpful. The only things we would change about this house were 1 - the beds were hard and uncomfortable and 2 - access to the basement was awkward since you had to go thru the bathroom to get to the basement. The 2nd shower is in the basement so if someone was down there you didn’t want to use the bathroom on the main level since they couldn’t get back upstairs while you’re in there.
