Aloha from paradise! Take in the breathtaking ocean views while having breakfast on the large lanai (balcony), or listen to waves crash as you drift off to sleep! You'll enjoy a spacious 1353 sq. ft, full kitchen, A/C in bedrooms, and many recent updates! Right on the green belt, you'll have easy walking access to several world famous beaches within minutes. We'll have all the beach gear ready and waiting for you! We take pride in offering a high-end, recently updated luxury condo, that our guest can call home on their special vacation.

Our Ohana (family) beach house is located within building 4 (second closest building to the ocean) of the Poipu Sands development which sits adjacent to the gorgeous Grand Hyatt property and is the closest development within Poipu Kai to Shipwreck beach, which is a gorgeous 4-5 minutes walk away.

Our top, third, floor unit provides, both, a rare front balcony with incredible mountain views; and a large rear lanai, providing one of the most breathtaking ocean views you'll find in Poipu. Being on the top floor you'll be comforted by the cool trade wind breeze, but for those who prefer air conditioning the condo offers air conditioning in both bedrooms.

We completed over $50K in updates to provide our guests with a very homey Hawaiian style luxury feel.The unit will now easily sleep six with both bedrooms offering California king sized beds and the brand new high end pull out couch in the living room (a self-inflating air mattress is also available).

The large master suite offers island style furniture and bedding, a large bathroom with his and her sinks, and a remodeled large walk-in shower. Additionally, large sliding doors offer access to the oversized Lanai. On our visits we love to leave the slider doors open as the sound of the ocean waves put us right to sleep. 

The second bedroom offers more of the same, with a comfy California king bed, a built in desk area which is perfect if planning to do some work on your trip, recently remodeled large walk-in shower, and air conditioning for the warmer nights.

Transitioning to the exterior, the community heated pool is perfect for those days when the surf is a little rough. For exercise there are no shortages of walking or jogging paths in the area, or if tennis is your sport feel free to bring your racket along as the community has well maintained tennis courts. There are several local shops that rent out bicycles and electric bikes as well.

If you enjoy grilling as much as we do, you'll love that the community grilling area is directly in front of the balcony and offers an ocean view! There is also a very large grassy area for the kiddos to play in while grilling up your specialty or some local Hawaiian fare!

Follow the path along the Poipu Kai Greenbelt for a less than five-minute walk to Shipwreck’s Beach, explore the scenic Maha'ulepu Coastal Trail while watching for sea turtles,Hawaiian Monk Seals, or whales, or check out award-winning Poipu Beach, just a 15 minute stroll from the condo. Situated on seven acres of tropical landscaping next to the Grand Hyatt Kauai, Poipu Sands also puts you right next door to restaurants, shops, live entertainment, and world-famous Poipu Bay Golf Course.

Feel free to use anything in the closet, if anything is lost during your stay, please advise so we can work with you to get these items replaced for future guests to enjoy.

Kauai celebration

Restful condo, well equipped, clean with better than advertised views of the ocean. We watched the sunrise daily on the spacious lanai, enjoyed the breeze and sounds of the ocean waves inside and out. Close to Hyatt so great for conferences held there.

Wonderful Poipu Stay

The condo at Poipu Sands was a great location and had all the amenities that we needed. It’s a short walk to a sandy beach or the pool and is beautifully maintained. It is stocked with pool and beach items. The hosts were easy to reach and work with too Highly recommend staying here. It was our home away from home as we visited lovely Poipu.

Great property and view. Watched whales from the deck. Seals and turtles on the beach. Unit has all the amenities and is centrally located to activities/restaurants. Hosts were helpful with recommendations and things to do. Would definitely stay there again if visiting Kauai. Wonderful place to stay.

Peaceful Paradise

This is an amazing property! It was hands down the best equipped and furnished place we have ever stayed. The sunrise view from the huge lanai is a great way to start the day. Great condo, location and property owners!

Wonderful experience! Everything is as described, and then some. Location is perfect (Poipu Beach, Kauai south side) with a nice ocean view and close to everything (restaurants, grocery, fish market, etc.). Property is well kept and nicely furnished. Property owners were very responsive and helpful with recommendations for sightseeing, restaurants, etc. We stayed for two weeks and could have stayed for many more!

Incredible Poipu Sands unit

Kelli and Scott are the best and most responsive hosts I have worked with and I have stayed in this area many many times. The condo is so well equipped from kitchen to everything you might need to play on the island. Questions are answered promptly and they sincerely want their renters to have a great vacation. A great place to stay!

I have been renting from VRBO for 20 years now and this is one of the best experiences I've ever had. The hosts, Kelli and Scott are so wonderful to work with and so very helpful. The condo is great. Beds are very comfortable, furniture is stylish and tasteful and the view is beautiful. The porch is where you will spend a lot of your time while in the condo. The thoughtful amenities such as starter packs of coffee, some hawaiian treats, condiments, etc. were greatly appreciated. Our stay here was thoroughly enjoyable! Mahalo, Scott and Kelli!

Location location location

How to summarize this amazing property…location location location! This property was a home away from home. And you felt that the second you walked through the door. Super clean! We has 2 single moms and 3 kids all together and there was plenty of room for everyone to feel like they had their own space. The bathrooms were both huge and very new! And the kitchen had everything you needed and then some. And the community pool was Perfect too. And you are right on the ocean when he was a treat to see and hear everyday! Scott & Kelli were the perfect owners and had so much knowledge of Kauai. The closet we found with everything you would need to enjoy Kauai was perfect. They even had beach bags for us to use. Poipu Sand 434

The property was wonderful and had everything we needed to make our stay as easy as possible, especially with a young child. The property was a very close walk to the ocean and the front and back balconies had wonderful views. There were plenty of sand toys for our kid, beach chairs, and snorkel equipment for us. We were provided advice for rental cars and reminders along the way. Kelli gave updates of the island mandates helping keep us informed. After initial booking we had a conflict and needed to change the dates of our stay. Kelli was understanding and did everything she could to make sure we got dates that worked and made the process seem less. Communication with Kelli easy and quick as she made herself available to respond to any questions we had. I would highly recommend staying here and will definitely return in the future.

Spectacular Sister vacation

From beginning to end this was seamless. Communication with Scott and Kelli was excellent. The property was exactly as listed, and perfect for us. We enjoyed listening to the ocean from the lanai! We had coffee in the morning and cocktails in the evening as we looked out to the water and heard the waves crash. The kitchen had everything we needed and we used the bar-b-que as well. The closet of pool toys and coolers/bags, etc., came in handy and was appreciated. We could not have asked for a better location and condo for our amazing stay in Kauai, we will certainly be back! Thank you Scott and Kelli for sharing your beautiful home with us!

Highly recommend staying here!

Kelli and Scott were the best hosts. It started right after we made the reservations and then sent out advice to book car rental and excursions as things were filling up. They also sent a list of things to do and tailored it to our group which included 2 teen girls. They communicated well and were very accommodating in allowing us to check in early after we checked out of another place on the other side of the island. We were greeted with a lovely "basket" of goodies, coffee and lotions. Everything in the unit was as listed. There were lots of beach stuff; snorkel gear, insulated bags, chairs and umbrellas, good beach towels. There were sand toys but our girls were too old for that. Kitchen had everything we needed; tons of Tupperware, a cooler so we could head out to the beach and hikes for picnics and snacks. Beds were super comfortable and bathrooms/kitchen had been updated and were lovely. We spent a lot of time on the lanai which had rocking chairs, dining table/chairs and lounge chairs- lots of options out there. Location of Poipu Sands was also great. A walk to the Shipwreck beach, Grand Hyatt and the Mahaulepu trail. A quick drive to Poipu beach where we snorkeled and saw amazing and colorful fish. Trip was pure paradise. A great stay with great hosts.

We are residents of San Diego, with Kauai being our home away from home. If you've been, you know the beauty of the island and all that it offers. We have three younger children and recently adopted and welcomed a puppy into our family. We love to travel, meet locals, and try local foods!

Why they chose this property

Kelli grew up going to Kauai on family summer vacations and continued to go in adulthood. When she met Scott she knew she had to take him to her special place in the world and we now share in our love for Kauai. Within two years we had gone to Kauai several times and decided to buy. In March 2020 we took a trip to look at condos on the market, and that same trip we got engaged on Shipwreck beach.

We fell in love with this property the moment we saw it. It is very spacious, welcoming, and, of course, the view is incredible! Having small children we wanted a special place to spend summers together as a family. With Poipu being so family/kid friendly we knew we had the right place! We absolutely love the location with it being the most eastern property within the Poipu Kai Resort. We are adjacent to the Hyatt which offers amazing restaurants, shopping, golf, and one of the best spas on the island.
