We live in Florida, this is our London home. We visit it at least once per year. We have come to know this area very well and truly enjoy its many attractions as well as the excellent access to the West End and the major tourist sites.
The flat is bright, cheerful, and spacious. All rooms have large windows. The kitchen and the two bedrooms have a Western exposure. The living room, bathroom and toilet (which are separate rooms) have an Eastern exposure. The large master bedroom has a very comfortable USA king-size bed and ample wardrobe and drawer space. The second bedroom has two large single beds and ample wardrobe space. For the 'fifth' person we use an air mattress in the living room. There are ceiling fans in the bedrooms and living room. We do not have (and very rarely need) air conditioning.
The living room has comfortable seating for four people as well as a large 37' flat screen TV (with Freeview), radio, CD/tape player, and a DVD player. Free broadband internet connection (wireless or cable) is available. A printer may be connected to your laptop. The kitchen is large enough that four people can eat around the table and not impede someone preparing food. It is fully-equipped to service six people.
The flat is located on the second floor (third floor by USA definition) of a picturesque Mansion block built in 1896. It does not have a lift. Access to the stair well to the flat is by a key or by remotely unlocking the door after verifying the caller’s identity via TV cameras. The mansion block is located at the end of a cul-de-sac and road noise is almost non-existent.
West Kensington Underground station is a seven minute walk from the building. It is on the District line and is three stops from the Knightsbridge shopping district and seven stops from Westminster Abbey/Houses of Parliament.
A five minute walk to Hammersmith High Street will give you access to multiple bus routes taking you up Kensington High Street, through Knightsbridge and Hyde Park Corner into the West End of London.
There are half a dozen restaurants and the same number of 'take outs' that can be reached in under ten minutes. The large, superb Tesco Supermarket is a ten minute walk. There are green-grocers and smaller supermarket shops on the way to the Underground station, which are closer to the flat. There is a dry cleaner, video rental store, liquor store, news-agent, and 3 eating places all within five minutes of the flat.
For tennis fans, the Queen’s Club tennis facility is a 15 minute walk and Earl’s Court Underground station (a 12 minute walk) offers a direct (six stops) connection to Wimbledon. The flat is a 5 minute walk to the Olympia exhibition halls. Holland Park - peaceful and relaxing - is a 15 minute walk.

Central location to shops, restaurants, and transportation. While the hike up the stairs each night was tiring, the view over the rooftops and layout of the flat was superb. We enjoyed sitting in the kitchen having breakfast and evening tea and then moving to the sitting area for relaxation and reading. Would definitely stay here again!
My sister and I lived here for 2 weeks during our London holiday, and we loved this flat. Convenient location, short walk to tube stop, quiet and safe area. The beds were comfortable and the flat was well-stocked for our needs. The owner is very responsive and helpful. Highly recommended, we will stay here again if we return to London.
We enjoyed our stay. The flat was very convenient to the tube as well as the bus lines. The owner covered everything in the flat book. The kitchen was well stocked with everything needed to fix a meal. If there was a half star, our rating would be 4 ½. The only thing keeping it from 5 stars was the difficulty opening the front door to the complex (not the front door of the flat). It’s obvious the door lock needs an adjustment. The other factor in a half star loss was the shower curtain, it was in desperate need of a good wash with bleach or a replacement.
Great property. Comfortable apartment in good location. Accurate description in listing with clear instructions and great suggestions for experiencing London. Very responsive host. We loved our stay there and would return.
The loft had every commodity, to feel confortable after spending the day visiting , very quite building and sector, close to the underground and grocery store
We highly recommend and the
You cant beat this location. You are within 10 minutes from 2 tube stations. Many coffee shops, grocery store and nice pub all close not to mention places to eat. We were a group of 3 ladies and felt safe and secure at all times.
Short but wonderful stay. A lovely, comfortable, ample and spotless apartment with everything necessary. Very good location for visiting London. Very fluid communication with David and ever so helpful manager, Sara! Thank you!
This was a lovely location in London, very accessible to the Underground. The fault itself was comfortable if a bit dated. Communication with our host was very easy, and they were quick to respond to any inquiry. Initial access was the biggest challenge, with Google maps and building construction making it difficult to identify the block of flats. Getting the key and getting into the flat also had its wrinkles, but we very much enjoyed our stay and the neighborhood.
Family of 5 slept well and had the needed items for cooking, bathing and sleeping in comfortable, suburb flat outside London. Tube was 10 min walk; grocery store was 5 min walk, and some restaurants nearby. Management was friendly and informative. Would stay again.
Perfect flat for London. A few minutes walk from the nearest tube station and close to restaurants and markets. Very comfortable. Yes, it is on the third floor, but the stairs are not bad.
We stayed for two weeks. The flat had a lot of character and made you feel like you were definitely in London. The location was excellent and a short/safe walk from the tube. It is on the district line which made it easy to get everywhere. The flat is on the fourth floor so there are lots of stairs to navigate with your suitcase. The flat is generously sized and the living/sitting/tv room is separate with a door that closes so if someone is sleeping there is no risk of disturbing/waking them. The bedrooms particularly the master are a good size. It was hot at the beginning of our stay but with ceiling fans the flat was fine. All in all a very comfortable stay and an oasis from the hustle and bustle of central London. The neighbourhood was quiet as well.
My wife and the choir she performs with had a series of rehearsals and two performances for BBC Proms (64). The flat served perfectly as home base because it was just a short walk to to transit.
This flat answered exactement to our expectations : simply clean, lightling, spacious for a family of 4 included 2 children ( we appreciated the 2 separaged rooms) and the full équipée kitchen. But even more important: the flat is very well situated within the zones of London for a very accessible price which allow us to enjoy London!!
Charming & quiet flat with lovely views. Be prepared for a long walk up to the flat with your luggage & bags. If you are not in good shape, I would not recommend.

48 steps! So, this visitor is correct, not for people with problems climbing steps. Actually, London may not be for you because there are steps in most underground stations.
This flat was perfect for our 10 night tourist stay in London. The location was quiet and safe in a lovely neighborhood. The roomy, eat in kitchen, comfortable living room, bedrooms with plenty of space for unpacking, and full bath and toilet room met our needs perfectly. Local groceries, places to eat, and access to underground transport made it easy to be there without a car. Kensington is handy to everything we wanted to see via Underground. Owner communication is excellent. Be sure to read all supplied information in advance and read the flat book first on arrival to use the amenities successfully. As with most older locations and different countries, there are idiosyncracies that you need to be aware of. We hated to leave when our time was up and will certainly stay at this flat if we are ever able to visit again.
Our family stayed two weeks in the flat. The property is very well equiped and very clean. It is a short walk to the tube so it is easy to get around London. We were in London while it was unusually warm but the flat cooled off quickly in the evening. There are nice grocery stores close by and several good restraurants that you can walk to. There are well written instructions for using the appliances (which are a little different than the US versions). The owner provides a lot of information on London and there are numerous guidebooks. If you get to London be sure to take advantage of the theater offerings.
Such a lovely time at David’s flat. It really was like a second home in a great neighborhood, close to all we wanted to see and do. My two teens wanted to be “Londoners” for the 3 weeks we were in the UK, and this flat and the surrounding neighborhood gave us the experience we were looking for. The flat is spotless and a quintessential English apartment. The property manager, Sara, is a sweetheart and communication with the owner, David, is spot on before, during, and even after your stay, if needed. He gives very detailed instructions about check in and all things you may need or want during your stay. The flat and building are quiet, and the neighbors are quite friendly. The building is super safe with gated access. I think there was a review that referenced the stairs to get to the flat, honestly, if you can climb you’ll be fine. Each floor has a beautiful window bench where you can catch your breath if needed. My elderly parents visited us during our stay, and they had no issues getting up and down the stairs taking advantage of the window seats. We especially loved the two neighborhood cats, Luca and Valentine, who greeted us every morning on our way to the local bakery and the underground station. 🐈⬛ We look forward to returning some time soon.

We live in Florida but this is our London home and we visit, at least, annually. Our visitors enjoy the flat when we are not there!
Why they chose this property
This is a great location, very close to shops, restaurants, buses and tube transportation and yet relatively secluded in a 'dead end' street.
What makes this property unique
We try to make our flat a 'home from home' because that is exactly what it is for us.
