About this property
Idyllic Lakeside Victorian Farmhouse
The Lake House is a restored 1880's farmhouse nestled on the western slope of Seneca Lake with approximately 400 ft of lakefront and a beach with a firepit and a dock. In the past it has been a Bed and Breakfast. It is very private, surrounded by woods and garden, on 10 acres of land in the midst of The Seneca Wine Trail as well as the growing brewery, distillery, chocolate and cheese trails. The house contains many family heirlooms. it is roomy and has many areas for guests to gather.
If combined with the cottage (#231064) it makes for a nice haven that is especially amenable for reunions and family gatherings. There are many activities to keep you busy on and off the property. In addition to 2 canoes, two kayaks, and paddle boat, there is a firepit on the beach and on the backside of the house. There is swimming and fishing (w/ license) off the dock. The large front porch is great for lounging, socializing, eating and otherwise taking in your surroundings.

This was a perfect home for a group of ten friends to stay in for a long weekend wine tour around Seneca Lake. It has a very comfortable feel and easily accommodated us as we toured during the day, and relaxed together at night. We had an issue crop up, and Michele was incredibly responsive as we worked through it. Can't say enough about her home and support during our stay.
Excellent location for a getaway vacation to the Finger Lakes. Great house and property. Plenty of room for dining, family fun time and privacy. Outstanding kitchen!
This was a gathering of my siblings and our spouses. There were 8 of us all together. We all enjoy cooking so having a fully stocked kitchen was key for us. The gathering spaces were also perfect especially the gorgeous front porch and large dining area.
We loved the location and the charm of the Victorian home. We all enjoyed the beach and fire out area although it is a bit if a challenge he to get down there. The pitch was amazing for morning coffee and evening wine and conversation. The kitchen is well equipped. Thank you Michelle for a perfect getaway. Beautiful home
Fantastic historic farmhouse. Couldn’t have asked for a better house for 4 couples all 60. Loved the close location to Watkins Glen State Park, Corning Glass, and the wineries. Equipped with everything we needed plus more. And spacious. Loved sitting on the porch by candlelight at night and in the morning enjoying the view. Highly recommend. Michelle was very very responsive to emails and texts.
We had a lovely stay. As indicated, it’s quite a walk down to the lake, but the beach and boat house were great. The house was spacious, and the kitchen had top notch appliances, which was great for us as we like to cook. My sole complaint is that the mattresses were very firm, but I think most of our party was fine with them.
The house is an older home, decorated as such. Bedrooms were clean and comfortable. Each bedroom has a bathroom, which worked wonderfully for our family. Communication went well with the property owner.Only recommendation, is better lighting outside at stairs driveway side, that can be brighter when coming in at night. My parents (75) struggled with seeing the steps as they came in. And, the front door step down can be marked. My dad fell as he came out of the house because he missed the step down. Otherwise it was a pleasant stay.
Wonderful! You couldn't want for anything else with this property. Check in was super easy. Kitchen was well appointed. Home was clean and comfortable. All appliances were in working condition. No issues.
We stayed at the Lake House for our 50 anniversary get together. Everyone had a room with a bath. We found plenty to do with the kids in the area and had our own boats by the dock. It’s a great place for a big group!
Spent three nights at this great house. 12 adults had plenty of space for conversations and gathering. Location is so good for Watkins Glen and Corning.
The house itself was awesome. Plenty of bedrooms & bathrooms. Large kitchen. The porch was a favorite hangout place. The path to the water was not fun. Pretty steep gravel road to go down & up. The area by the water could have been a lot better. Weeds could have been trimmed & the outhouse was disgusting. Overall my family & I had a good time there.
The house was the perfect size for all three families 6 adults and 9 kids, we loved playing bocci and ladder ball in the yard. The walk to the lake was understated in the reviews. The stairs and gravel hill were a lot with an infant, very steep and pretty slippery in the rain, but the dock and kayaks were worth it. The beds left something’s to be desired, and the outdoor furniture is at the end of its lifespan, but the porch was by far a favorite! The kitchen was great, equipped with everything you could need! Overall a great stay!
The house and property are fabulous! Everything was pristine clean. So much room for our group of 10 friends to gather together. Our favorite part was sitting on the spacious porch to have our morning coffee and our pre-dinner snacks and beverages. Michele was readily available for any questions we had prior to our arrival. We had no questions during our stay which was primarily due to the extensive information binder at the house which included manuals for the appliances and detailed information about where to locate just about anything one could possibly need to cook with.Because it was the beginning of September, we knew we wouldn’t be swimming so the fact that the water was a little bit of a hike down a hill from the house wasn’t an issue but something to be mindful of for individuals with any mobility issues. Our group thoroughly enjoyed our stay and even talked about returning next year.
Without a doubt, the Lake House was the perfect gathering spot for our family to celebrate multiple recent events, including birthdays, anniversaries, and graduations. Everyone, ranging in age from 70 to 3, had a fantastic time and everyone was thoroughly enchanted by the lovely Lake House!
With the exception of no towels, the property was great. Awesome historical farm house.

I am sorry you did not notice in the agreement that towels were not included. There was an option to rent but you did not request this option.. A phone call would have remedied the problem. Sorry for your inconvenience.
Unique and relaxing spot to explore the finger lakes
This property was perfect for our multi-generational family vacation. Lots of unique spaces inside and out to have quiet time and come together as a big group. Lake access hike is an adventure, but the availability of the canoes and kayaks from the property was super convenient. Great location for exploring the finger lakes. Would stay again and recommend!
Loved the fact there were so many rooms and bathrooms for our family get together. No one had any trouble getting to the lake and we did have 2 children ages 5 and 8. Fishing off the dock was fun for the kids. My only complaint would be the 400 cleaning fee as we had one small dog with black hair who was downstairs most of the time. As per instructions, we vacuumed downstairs and did the 2nd floor as well---there were gray dog hairs on that floor so I'm not sure how much cleaning was done by the cleaners. The owner was very responsive on all communications and the kitchen was well stocked. I would suggest boxing up some of the knick knacks throughout the house as I was constantly telling the kids not to touch anything. Overall though, a great place for a family getaway.

I am sorry that you found the cleaning fee prohibitive yet did not feel the job was adequately done. It is a very large house and it takes the cleaners between 10a-4p as well as the laundry is taken home. I wish you would have mentioned your concern about the house having dog hair or otherwise not adequately cleaned. I know the cleaner would have come back. She is usually very thorough and its very rare that I get a complaint. I can assure you that the 400. fee is solely used for cleaning and cleaning supplies.
I am at least glad that you were able to enjoy the house despite this distraction.

This is a photo of family and myself enjoying breakfast on the porch. This is my favorite activity at the Lake House!
Why they chose this property
We live and work nearby but coming to the lake gives me an instant feeling of "being away from it all". It allows me to take mini vacations as needed!
What makes this property unique
Wonderful gathering place with friends and family especially in combination with the lakeside cottage.
