About this property
Vintage Charm With Modern Amenities With Mountain Views
This well known home sits proudly atop a hill overlooking the town of Shenandoah-with private, off-street parking for up to 4 vehicles. Enjoy the very large, well manicured lawn as you sit around the fire-table on one of the back patios.
All bedrooms and living room are complete with smart TV's. The home also features high speed internet connection for leisure, or for teleworking.
This home was built in the early 1980's by prominent residents of the community, Earl and Virginia Foltz. Virginia was crowned "Ms. Shenandoah" in her teenage years. Many residents of Shenandoah have fond memories of grand lawn parties, while playing professional level croquet. Mr. Foltz was also known for his homemade wines-made with grapes grown in the back yard and enjoyed by those who would attend their lawn parties.
Come and relax in the hot tub after a long day of site seeing in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Or, on a cold night, you may choose to sit in front of one of the two fireplaces sipping wine from a local winery. (Please note that the fireplaces are very realistic electric inserts for the safety of our guests).
The kitchen is fully stocked with all of the kitchen essentials, complete with a spice rack! It's like you've never left the convenience of your own home.
Come and experience the "retro era" with a touch of mid-century modern flair!
With 2200 square feet of living space, there is plenty of room to spread out and enjoy some quiet time.
This home is literally a one minute walk to some of our small town local favorites. For Italian dining, visit Mama Mias. If your palate is looking for authentic Mexican, walk right on over to Mr. Garcias. The food is truly authentic, and the Margaretta's are refreshing and go down smooth. Looking for some good 'ole fried chicken? Then Taste The Southern Market is the place to go! The fried chicken is hand breaded fresh, daily and never frozen. If you are a fried chicken lover........don't miss your chance at THE best fried chicken in our area. Be sure to check out the other foods offered in their hot deli case. Taste the Southern Market also offers 50 varieties of; jams, jellies, apple butters, relishes, pickles.............all made locally here in Virginia. You won't be disappointed.
If you are looking for wineries, well then you have found the place to be. There are multiple wineries in the area. Simply ask your host which wineries are recommended.
The entrance to Shenandoah National Park is just a 15 minute drive. If you are looking to do a little bit of "underground" exploring, take a short 25 minute drive to Luray and visit the Luray Caverns.

The property was great. Some suggestions would be, install chair height toilets for us older quests and clean the stove. For appearances the gutters on the back need fixed and the copula is ready to fall off.
Everything was perfect for what we were looking for!!! Four middle age women on a weekend away!!! The house was amazing, kitchen had everything and then some, beds were so comfy, hot tub was grand, spent alot of time on the outdoor patio!!!! Ate at some local places that we completely enjoyed and a little shopping at the general store. There is a lot that we didn’t do or explore but we went for R&R and that is exactly what we asked for!!!! Next time we will factor in the wineries! Scot and Paul are the absolute perfect hosts!!
We all loved our stay in Shenandoah! The home was beautiful and well-stocked with all of our needs. We loved the vintage decor. The hosts were wonderful and so responsive! We would absolutely stay here again! Thank you!
My stay was a wonderful experience. The property was beautiful as you pull into the driveway. We came after sun down and it was absolutely gorgeous. Space was clean and cute.
Great house! Excellent mix of art deco and modern. Hosts were fantastic. Perfect location to chill for a couple days on our journey from Florida to NY. Mountains and parks just beautiful.
This was the perfect place for our family and friends to stay. The home is very quaint with lovely decor and stocked well for guests. We had plenty of space to cook, sleep and hangout. The back patio was nice and quiet and private for sitting and relaxing, and enjoying the hot tub. Our dog loved running in the yard too. Just a short walk from a few local restaurants and shops was convenient. Scot and Paul our hosts were very welcoming and responsive to all our questions. Overall fantastic property and enjoyed our stay!
This home was very spacious and wonderfully decorated. Plenty of beds and very well stocked. The hot tub and patio were fantastic. Scot is great and was easy to get in touch with. We would definatly stay here again!
We stayed here for a long weekend for a Bachelorette trip in Shenandoah. Overall, the accommodations were great but a few things were missing when we arrived (sponge, cutting board, etc.). The hosts were incredibly helpful though and brought us the missing items within an hour of notifying them! We did try using the fire pit our last night there, but it was out of propane and it was too late to get more. Everything else was great!
This house was a perfect home away from home. We used it as a home base while skiing at Massanutten as it was only a short drive away.
Scot was an amazing host and checked in to make sure things were great our entire stay.
I highly recommend staying here. It was extremely cozy and close to all the things in the area. We are already planning our trip back!
Cute home. Great hot tub. Beds are firm if you prefer that. Close enough to all the local spots you want to hit. Definitely try the ice cream shop down the street.

there's ants and flies. i'm not into carpets, the house has a lot of it. otherwise, nice stay for the price. community is good. scot is great.
Overall this property is fantastic! The house is old, but well kept and very clean. It feels cozy and relaxing. The appliances are definitely a little out dated but seem to work just fine. Be prepared to put your body into opening the sliding doors. We loved our master bed, but some of our friends said the other beds were hard. We also had a hard time with the couch/bed. Bring an air mattress - it’s just easier. I’d also say to bring extra blankets/towels. There were just enough for everyone to get one. The house is off of a busy road so you will hear cars driving by, but it isn’t obnoxious and you’re so high on the hill you don’t see them. The fire pit, grill and hot tub were all easy to use and clean! Great features to add to your stay! The house fit all 7 adults and 2 kids well, was very clean, a 15 min drive to hiking trails and close enough to still drive to town. Absolutely would stay here again!
The good: the house is fantastic! Lots of room and very clean. Great location for all the local attractions. Scot the property manager is outstanding… very responsive!
The “not so good”: the hot tub never worked properly but Scot was very proactive in trying to remedy it. Unfortunately the vintage refrigerator malfunctioned prior to our arrival and the temporary replacement was extremely loud… but not to worry for your visit Scot has a brand new modern one on order!
We spent a wonderful 4 night stay here. The house is spacious (we had 4 adults and 4 kids) with a great private backyard where we spent a lot of time in the hot tub. The outdoor gas fire pit is a really nice compliment. The kitchen is original but really charming and has absolutely everything we needed. It was so nice to have linens and good quality towels provided. Scot was a great host and really responsive to any questions. It is about 20 minutes from Massanutten and 50 min from Bryce so a great spot for skiing. Overall, a great house, highly recommended and we'll definitely be back.
Modern / Vintage vibe! My 16 year old niece loved "her" room! Loved the living/dinning room spaces; so beautiful! My father-in-law absolutely fell in love with with rental; saying it was perfect! Hindsight I should have packed a portable fan (my niece did) and brought a sleeping mask (the sun will wake you). All in all a great stay!
This house was absolutely wonderful. Loved the style, space, decor. So much space and so comfy. Everything you could need for a great time.thanks so much for opening your beautiful home for us to rent
