About this property

Oceanside, Pet Friendly, Smart Home with-SUP, kayak with and 60 ft Dock

Great news, we just completed construction of a brand new 60FT dock. We have a kayak launch and plenty of room for your boat.

Our indoor upgrades included getting a Tempur Pedic king-size adjustable bed for the master bedroom (raise the head or feet). All the TVs are now 4K smart TVs, which we mounted. We put in a smart house system that can serve as your morning fishing alarm and play music via Pandora. A lock box for the front door and a smart lock on the back door makes it easy to check in and check out. The living room and dining room are getting all new furniture.

Boating:
Oceanside and Gulf side boating await for those interested in exploring the Keys. Vaca-Cut is right around the corner, and the ocean is right in front of the home. We are also very close to the 7-mile bridge, which offers excellent fishing.

If you hire a guide, you can explore nearby offshore beaches on the Gulf side that we consider comparable or better than many of the beaches on Dr. Beach's list – try the Content Keys.

We do use a standard Florida rental agreement that includes waivers for swimming, equipment use and pets. The agreement is available on VRBO.

Premium Services
We are proud to offer premium paddling and kayak services for those who want to step up their fishing game. Our premium lines offering include Old Town Big Game PDL kayaks (awesome!), Hobie Pro-Anglers (pedal type), Hobie Outbacks (pedal type), and Wilderness A.T.A.K. Fishing Kayaks (pedal type/paddle). These premium services require a separate rental contract, waiver, and fees. We offer a 50% discount for this service at this property for our customers. With the discount, this may be the best price in the Keys for this type of equipment. These premium services can be added to your rental payment through the online booking system.

Note: the home comes with "paddle-type" kayaks and paddleboards, and you may not need performance upgrades unless you are looking for an upgraded experience.

Premium Dockage and Pool:
We have a wet slip at The Boat House Marina in Marathon #43 that can host a 40-foot boat with a 3-foot draft (bow first docking only). The Boat House is about 1.5 miles from the home. The wet slip has shore power and water. Proper liability insurance limits are required for docking at our marina slip. This premium service requires a separate rental contract, waiver, and fees.

We stayed for a week in March, the place was immaculate and perfect for the two of us. It was well stocked with the essentials. The dock was great for our small boat with quick access to either the ocean or Gulf waters. The beaches were a quick drive away. Close access to several restaurants. The hosts responded very quickly to any questions we had regarding the property, things in the area, etc. If we are in the Marathon area in the future, we would definitely stay here again.

Nice home, great location on canal with nearby ocean access

The home was just as pictured on vrbo, convenient location on the canal just a few hundred yards from the ocean. The home was clean and well appointed, close to restaurants and stores. Parking right in front of the house was very convenient. Maximum number of people I would recommend would be only 3 or 4, it's a nice home, but not overly large. We had a blast fishing off the dock right behind the house - we caught snapper, barracuda, and almost had an eel. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. Part of the dock was missing from Hurricane Irma, but it ended up being advantageous because we used the kayaks that were at the house, and it was easier to put the kayaks in the water and get into them in the area where part of the dock was missing. The owner sent a list of things to do and places to eat which was helpful - we loved eating at Frank's Italian Restaurant and going to the Turtle Hospital for a tour.

Better suited for a fisherman

House was a little disappointing considering the price. Owners were very kind and communicated well with us. Some of the furniture may be new but the sofa and the bed?? Dock was not finished. The view was beautiful! May be ok for a few guys fishing but not a couple.

My wife and I met in 1990, and have been paddling and fishing ever since. We paddled Ecuador's Amazon, Hawaii, and Alaska's bays and even tried some white-water in Whistler. We caught amazing fish in the Florida Keys and Ecuador. However, the clearest waters are in the Florida Keys, and that's why we built our small but fun vacation business in this area. I'd tell you about my boating adventures, but I probably will need my own website to do that.

I would not call myself a professional paddler, but we are a multi-generational paddling family. I crewed in college, and my son did the same. We've explored many of the Gulf-side islands and passes of the Florid Keys.

Two memories stick out the most, catching a wave on a Hawaiian outrigger canoe and lobstering off a paddleboard with an air system in the Florida Keys.

Why they chose this property

This home has direct ocean access. You can literally paddle to the flats in minutes, turn and still see the house. If you have a boat, even better. You will be able to access the Gulf and Ocean in minutes.

What makes this property unique

One of the things I like best about this home is eating breakfast and looking out at the ocean. The difference between this home and others is that you can boat and paddle once you're done with breakfast and become part of someone else great view. The ability to access so many things is truly unique. Whether it's Sombrero reef, the Gulf, or numerous patch reefs, this home put's you at the center of it all.

What about food and beaches? We have excellent dining in Marathon and one of the best beaches in the Keys (Sombrero Beach) - just minutes from. our home. There's even a dog park nearby.
