Clean, loved the turkeys and chickens, spacious. Several arteries within walking distance. And 10 minutes from Capitol Reef which is the reason we were there
Great location close to food and coffee shops. Communication with owner is great, and the unit was very clean, with touches like fresh cut flowers on the table. Beds are soft, and neighbors above can be quiet or noisy.
Cute, a little odd getting used to using several separate heaters. No fan in the bath which is nicer with multiple bath users. Good privacy, easy to find and get into. Good amount of space, comfortable couch!
Danielle was a great host, very responsive and accommodating! We stayed here for a couple nights while visiting Capitol Reef National Park and the location was amazing, close to the park and also the wild rabbit for coffee and breakfast and rock reef cafe across the street for dinner :) The house was very comfortable and stocked with everything we needed. Plenty of space for the four of us on the trip! I would definitely recommend!
We stayed here with another couple, we enjoyed the location and the simplicity of everything around. We ate breakfast at the Wild Rabbit Cafe in the morning which played into our satisfaction of the location. Anything we needed was within walking distance.
Great stay in Torrey to visit Capitol reef. Location was perfect and there was plenty of space for our crew. I especially appreciated that the owner provided coffee and filters! Kids loved the game room!
We stayed 1 week at #1 Desert Dwelling Inn. It was the first level 2 bedroom. It was very comfortable, spacious and clean. Kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed as we prepared most of our meals at the apartment. There are several small cafes nearby to walk to if you like. Danielle was very accommodating and even brought us some fresh eggs.
Would recommend to anyone to stay.
Ideal for overnight stay, would be good for longer stays
Great communication- especially appreciate advice about getting groceries before arrival and making restaurant reservations. Unit was clean and well equipped, bed was comfortable and shower was great!
We loved staying at Desert dwelling. It was roomy with an open floor plan and good facilities for cooking in. Also had a nice yard with goats next store and some friendly chickens in the yard. Capitol Reef NP a gem of a park is a 10 minute drive. Could not have been happier. Also have laundry facilities.
We spent a week discovering Capitol Reef, and thoroughly enjoyed coming "home" to this two bedroom paradise. Everything about the space was perfect and Danielle was very responsive when we needed a few things.
What a lovely stay we had. Danielle is a stellar host, finding that perfect balance of availability without being intrusive. The property is clean, comfortable and well appointed. The grounds are beautiful and the location is ideal for exploring the area. We stayed for a month and are looking forward to our next visit. I have a feeling we will be coming back again and again.
Danielle does an excellent job and is very accommodating. The rooms are very nice and beds are comfortable. It’s in an excellent location. Definitely will book again.

Owner is responsive to our queries and easy to communicate.
This apartment was well-equipped with everything we needed for a week-long stay. It was tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The owner was especially helpful when a part for one of our cell phones needed to be mailed to us--she went to the post office everyday to see if it had come. Thanks Danielle!
Stayed here a couple of nights on a 3-week trip and it was nice to have a place that felt like home. Room to spread out, laundry, etc. Well-kept, clean, looks newly remodeled. Not much in the way of restaurants in the area, so it’s best to bring your own groceries. Overall a relaxing and comfortable place to stay!
The rooms were very clean. We enjoyed our one night stay and would recommend it to our friends. Maybe be helpful to inform guests were your garbage cans are located
Loved your place and if ever in the area would stay here again.
It was surprisingly so spacious and very clean. Great that we had access to washer and dryer and full kitchen. Even without ac it was plenty cool enough even in late July. We enjoyed our stay.
A truly wonderful place to stay. The property is an oasis from the desert. Very clean, well kept, with a wonderful owner who makes you feel like family. The small town was a great place to be for the holiday with food, small markets, and that small community feel that makes you want to come back.

Why they chose this property
This residence has a wonderful open floor plan with a modern kitchen and great room! Relax and watch the flat screen TV in the living room or cook a delicious meal in the fully equipped kitchen. There is also a designated office space with a desk and a larger open work area.
The bedrooms and bathroom are well appointed and supplied with everything you might need while away from home. We keep the top bunk unmade to provide you with the highest standard of cleanliness- we found it impossible not to climb on the sheets in order to make the bed. The linens and blankets are provided. The fully stocked laundry room is located between two dwellings, with a locked door only you can access.
When you arrive, you will go to the west side of the building to Door #1. There will be a lock box for you to retrieve the key and let yourself in. We will supply you with the entry code after booking and before your check-in date. There are no steps to climb and ample free parking. Note that there is a beautiful, large, fenced-in backyard which you have direct access to out the backdoor with a private mudroom perfect for storing bikes, outdoor equipment, or winter coats.
What makes this property unique
THERE IS NO GROCERY STORE IN TORREY: The nearest shopping is in Loa, Utah about 17 miles away. Come prepared with groceries or contact us and arrange to have groceries delivered in advance for a nominal fee. Weather: Torrey is located at 6,800 ft above sea level, so we thankfully don’t get the intense heat that other desert towns experience. Summertime temperatures range from the mid 80's to low 90's during the day and mid 50's to mid 60's at night. Winter high temps are mostly in the mid 30’s to lower 50’s with a few days in the 20’s. Snow doesn't stay long in Torrey but there is plenty of it up on nearby Boulder Mountain. Thank you for your interest in Home in the Heart of Utah. Do not hesitate to reach out with suggestions and feedback of how your stay could be improved and what you loved about your time with us.
