Great Mother/Daughter Trip!

Loved, loved, loved our stay at Guesthouse Charleston East 42 A! This property was so incredible and perfect for our trip with 2 mother/daughter duos . Charming property, beautifully decorated, clean, great location and within walking distance to dining & shopping, easy check-in, responsive communication with property management, just overall perfect. Great Location

My husband and I stayed here with another couple for a friend’s wedding weekend in Charleston. The location was great! Loved the neighborhood and the easy access to King St. The host was very responsive and accommodating! It was the perfect size for two couples

Great place to stay!

Location was great! Walked to Browns Court Bakery around the corner for coffee and pastries. Walking distance to Kings Street for shopping and restaurants. Small living space but perfect for my husband and I. Kerri was very helpful with figuring out TVs.

Set up with bathrooms was a little odd but it was fine. A little street noise but not bad. Parking a huge plus. Easy $10 Uber to wherever you want to go.

Great Time at 42A Spring Street

I joined my 16 year old daughter and her friend for a quick Charleston getaway prior to school starting for the new year. The property was just as advertised with everything we needed for two nights. We enjoyed walking to several local coffee/b-fast places, and the location just off King Street made it super convenient for shopping and bumping around. If you're headed downtown to East Bay street, you can count on about a 30 minute walk. We'd welcome an opportunity to come back in the future.

Little Gem!

Perfect location, beautiful and quaint with a modern flare. Central to everything, really don’t need a car. The attention paid to detail is fab. Staff so warm and welcoming. It’s a bit tight, but it’s old Charleston! Will be back!

Great base for exploring Charleston

Really cute 2 bedroom/2 bathroom home. Listing photos are very accurate. There were no surprises. We spent two nights here as we explored Charleston. My husband and I did get too hot at night as we are used to sleeping with a ceiling fan running and this unit has cute chandeliers in the bedrooms in lieu of fans. I understand the design choice, but for me, a fan would have been more practical. Personal preference though. We did find a portable fan in a closet, that did help some. This unit is at the north end of King street, where there are lots of bars and restaurants, patronized by younger crowds.

Charleston SC stay

The decor and vibe of the place was very tastful. Completely redone and felt very safe. However, would not say the space was all that comfortable to relax as the TV room had only two uncomfortable chairs and small sofa. Easy in and out for walking or driving. A little hard backing out of parking space as it is a little tight. Walls are very thin and the neighbor next door was so loud and stayed up until after 1am. We had to move bedrooms to help with the noise. Sound machines helped but was still a slight issue. Our property owners were great and very responsive to this issue as they called the next door tenants and the noise seemed a bit better after that.

Cute and Cozy

We stayed here for 8 nights. The unit was clean and neat. Brian was very responsive to our questions and needs :) Much appreciated the care and support! The unit had all stainless-steel utensils, which was refreshing to see from other VRBO's where it tends to be used non-stick pans. For a short weekend getaway, this would be a great place! Three things that could have made this a 5 star: 1) Parking was tight. It can accommodate small or medium size cars. Some of the residents came in Pickup’s or large SUV's that made it hard to park comfortably. No issues, just awareness that parking is tight! 2) There is a slight dip in the road just outside the bedroom, so you could hear the noise when the vehicles passed. First couple of days was tough, but then we got used to it. The noise cancelling machine helped :) 3) the unit has 2 clean bathrooms. The main bathroom was a good size, the second one was a bit tight. It was good to have two bathrooms since we were 4 of us. Overall, it was a good holiday stay. We enjoyed walking to all the historic spots and restaurants.

Better than expected

Overall very nice place . As I arrived, I was first worried about the overall neighborhood. Then after going in the unit I was happy. The proximity to the food and beverage scene was amazing. I was staying with my brother. He thought the place was perfect. The location is fantastic. We then found by walking the neighborhood had a lot to offer. More restaurants tucked away in the quaint neighborhood. The Downtown Social was 1st place we visited and from the roof deck we could see our house. We were very pleased with the Rooms and the courtyard was a bonus for morning coffee and late night wine. I would highly recommend this place and would stay there again.

Loved our Stay Here!

Our stay here was overall very good. The space was very clean and organized and it provided almost everything we needed! This place does not have a water dispenser or a Brita water filter, so I recommend bringing bottle waters or picking some up on the way! Our host was quick to respond with any questions we had and the location was perfect. Beautiful place, I will definitely be returning:)

Easter Visit

The house was wonderful. If i had any issues we wish the furniture was a little better. There was no were for four adults to sit and talk and play card games. The to chairs were very uncomfortable. And the bar stools were the same in the dining nook. Other than that the house was in a perfect location, parking was great. Hope to visit again.
