This was our second stay at Green Tortuga and once again it did not disappoint! We love the location of this home on the island as well as the layout and all the amenities it offers! Our family loves the lower level for entertainment in the evenings and the main level just feels like home. The owners are always quick to communicate. It really is a a top notch rental on North Captiva!

We arrived late after flight issues but were able to get into the house easily after hours. There is the option of Shally’s doing an after hours check in, but we didn’t feel we needed it.All of our groceries were put away when we arrived. Almost everything was picked out well and matched what we ordered. The house water tasted great.The house was so clean and stocked. Coffeemaker, vitamix, tupperware, water bottles, some pans and measuring cups were included with the standard kitchen things. They did even have baby supplies in the kitchen. Plenty of beach things and towels at the house, so we didn’t bring anything. There was even a cooler and wagon to take to the beach. The pool and hot tub and outdoor area are really nice.Shally’s arrived quickly same day to fix our golf cart when there was an issue with it and there was no charge which is good bbecause it wasn’t our fault.The few downsides about the house…. The neighbors to the east were noisy outside several of the nights we were there. The walls of the house didn’t block this. We asked them to be quiet at 1am because they woke us up, and they didn’t listen. I don’t think they are renters. Luckily this didn’t wake our youngest. The house to the south appears to be rented too and could easily get noisy. The dishwasher and laundry are also very loud and the layout of the house seems to carry noise, so we had to run these while we were at the beach.We had a nice time and would stay again.

We had a wonderful stay at the GreenTortuga. The house was very clean and provided many options for the family to be active with each other! I would recommend the Green Tortuga that loves Island life or like us that want to try Island for the first time!!

Tortuga paradise 😍

Green tortuga is a fabulous property. Well stocked kitchen, wonderful patio area with grill, fridge etc. we enjoyed grilling out many evenings while the kids swam in the pool. The pools wonderful, the kids logged many hours. The adults enjoyed the attached hot tub. The swim area was well stocked with life jackets and swim toys. Also, there were many well stocked items for the beach. We enjoyed the paddle boards as well as the chairs and umbrella and sand toys! The beds are comfortable, the house is well designed, tastefully decorated and the owners are responsive and accommodating! 10/10 would recommend!!

Pure Paradise

The Green Tortuga and North Captiva did not disappoint. From the moment we walked on to the island and into the house, the stress melted away and the memory making started. We spent a glorious week relaxing and enjoying pure family time. The Green Tortuga was clean, beautifully decorated, and comfortable. We had plenty of space for our family of five. From sunrise to sunset we enjoyed the golf cart, beach and beach chairs, pool and spa, and all the wild life. When we were ready for some down time inside the AC, we were all able to relax and enjoy movies on the comfy couch. Everything about our trip was great! We visited the island in early January (just a few months after the hurricane) and it was amazing to see the progress the island made in such a short time. This place is so special to our family and we cannot wait for our next visit.

Another Memorable North Captiva Experience!

We absolutely loved Green Tortuga!! The layout in the house was perfect for our families and the downstairs area with the outdoor kitchen, bar, games, TV and seating might be the best compared to any other house on the island! We had such a great time spending evenings down there. Wonderful property and our favorite island to visit!!!

Green Tortuga Beach Home

We were all very impressed with the property. The layout of the inside & outside living spaces were perfect. They had everything that we needed inside of the home. The outside living space under the home was perfect. You could grill out and watch the kids swimming, there was a sectional with a TV, a couple of hammocks, & some yard games to play. Overall great property & great owners who communicate well!

Amazing home and amenities! Relaxation upon arrival!

From the moment we arrived at the Green Tortuga, the level of thought and planning that went into it’s creation was obvious. The property is set up for a turn-key vacation. It has a beautiful, simple and very functional design with all living spaces on 2nd floor. The entire area under the home is patio-finished to a shady, cool place to cool, entertain, play games and sit in the breeze and watch March Madness games. The amenities included were MANY- outdoor games, pool toys, video games, board games and, of course, the GOLF carts! They were such fun! Our kids had a blast at the beach and we FULLY explored the island- love the turtles and turtle tracks in the sand! We found some very special treasures at the beach and met some truly wonderful people. Getting out to the island (multiple forms of transportation; plane-shuttle-boat) with all of our groceries was a bit of an undertaking on the planning side, but the execution was smooth and went quite well. Following Paula’s specific directions made it easy. We went out for a few meals, but cooked or grilled most of the time. Over the Waterfront was our favorite restaurant (make a reservation!) and we had such a fun night laughing with Kia & Chef. It was beyond exciting to watch a windy landing at the airstrip and to see the friendly manatees in the canal and dolphins along the Gulf coast. Overall, we had an amazing trip, and made some VERY happy lifelong memories. North Captiva was quaint, friendly and charming. We want togo back!!!

Best place!

We've stayed a number of places on the island and this is our favorite! It's not huge, but the layout was perfect for our large family. It is brand new and well stocked with all the comforts of home. There are not any rooms on the bottom floor (which are prone to leaks and mold) and the entire living space is on one level, which is awesome. The bottom floor is a great outdoor kitchen and sitting area with a TV and hammocks, plus the pool and lounge chairs. It had a toddler bed and a pack and play for little ones, and Netflix and video games for the big ones. We love Green Tortuga!

Green Tortuga is Paradise

We spent the week after Christmas at Green Tortuga, and absolutely loved our experience. First, the island is incredible, and a perfect place to recharge and reconnect with family. The house was perfect for the 9 of us, which included a set of grandparents, a set of parents and 5 kids ranging from 8-16. Everything about the experience was great, from the start of my booking until the end. We will definitely be back.

Beautiful home and pool close to the beach!

This was our first trip to North Captiva. We had great communication with the owner and had plenty of help coordinating our ferry and transition to our home. The house was clean, nicely decorated and spacious. Every one of our beds were comfortable! We had wonderful porches and large dining tables inside and out for meals. The beach is nearby and the golf carts made it in an easy few minutes. They provided plenty of beach towels, chairs, umbrellas and toys. We used the bicycles and paddle boards that came with the house. The pool and hot tub were perfect for our family. Overall a great home and experience! Highly recommend this home!

New property, new everything

First-time visitors to North Captiva Island after two decades visiting a similarly (previously) private North Carolina island. Management company switched to Sean and Ally from the time we booked to the time of our visit. They were on top of everything for us: how the Island Girl Ferry works, how to ensure we were set with groceries shopped for and placed in the house for us ahead of our arrival, how they will pick us up and take us to the house on arrival. They showed us the different island spots to visit our week, took our luggage up into the house, how to work the automated lock and pool. They and the owner were awesome communicators and highly responsive when we had questions during our stay. Our family of six loved all the newness of this new house. Huge island in the kitchen for meal prep and just spreading out food to feed the kids. Filtered water in sink. Big sectional for family tv watching at night. Linked us up with ice delivery lady for extra ice. Coffee pot/k-cup combo machine. Had bikes, kayaks and pool floaties available. Wish list for next visit: Ability to take AC lower than 72 degrees F (and just guidance on how thermostat works) because we like 67 or 68 degrees at all times and bannister/hand rail integrated with steps of pool to make entry/exit a bit more secure for older folks. The owner and property managers are the kind of experience caretakers you want to rely on when you spend this much money and planning time on a family trip.

While my husband works as a landscape contractor in Michigan, I proudly serve as a pediatric RN at the University of Michigan. Together, we balance our careers with our greatest joy — time spent with our family of five children (ages 15 to 36), three sons-in-law, one daughter-in-law, and four grandchildren. Traveling together has been the foundation of our best memories.
We are deeply committed to preserving the beauty and uniqueness of North Captiva. We support island conservation and community efforts, including educational signage, infrastructure improvements, and sustainable beach access projects to help protect this special place for future generations.
