I absolutely love this rental and the entire complex. There is so much to do within walking distance, and Beth is an amazing host and always aims to please.
We had a wonderful stay. Apartment was clean & cozy. We enjoyed running the trails & the history of the building, along with the convenience & tastiness of the bakery across the street and Trattoria Stella a 1 min walk away!
My husband and I had a great stay, we absolutely loved the history and charm of this old State Hospital. Very cool details, very clean and the shops down below were so cute and unique. I would stay here again!
My husband and I stayed here for the Thanksgiving weekend and we had a great time! We love to stay in The Commons because of the history, the shops and restaurants, and the proximity to the rest of the local area. The check-in and communication with Beth was so easy and quick. The property was cute and just as described. We had a lovely weekend!
Such a cute place to stay! Being in the Commons, you don’t have to go far for something to do! You could walk to shops or grab a bite to eat. Wonderful!
Loved the property. Very clean and perfectly maintained. Traverse Commons had everything we wanted for our short trip. We ate at two restaurants and went to the wine bar and coffee shop. It was so convenient! The woods near by were great for a short hike.
We really enjoyed our stay in this cute little condo. It was roomy enough for the two us, and well appointed for relaxation and meals, and very centrally located for touring the sights in Traverse City. Communication with the host was just right; we were given ample instructions on how to access the building and the elevator once we arrived. I would highly recommend this host and this property
Excellent family rental for wedding at Historic Barns
Stayed here for 3 days, 2 nights with my family for a wedding in the Historic Barns. Clean, safe, quiet. Beautiful renovation of a historic building. Only suggestion is to have a fan available in closet as it was a hot weekend, temps reached 95 and with sun setting on that side of building the AC was having a hard time cooling the condo off. Would absolutely stay again and recommend to family/friends.

My husband and I loved staying at Beth’s apartment in The Village at the Grand Traverse Commons. Beth’s place is perfect. She has everything you need including this amazing 3 ring binder with tons of great recommendations! We hiked to Pyramid Point, went kayaking on the Crystal River, Biked the Tart Trail, visited the lighthouse on the Old Mission Peninsula and of course went wine tasting. We loved eating at the Little Fleet, and had the best meal ever at Pepe Nero. We can’t wait to come back to TC and stay at Beth’s place again. Such a great getaway!
Overall, the condo had everything we needed. There were 3 adults, so we had to use the pull out sofa bed which was quite comfortable. Staying at the Commons which was formerly the Asylum Hospital was intriguing, quiet and offered so much in the area.
The only downside was that the air conditioning was a bit loud and the bathroom sink was much too high for us.
If you are 2-3 people I would definitely recommend staying here.
Beth was extremely helpful and very responsive to all of my questions.
Everything was as promised! Clean, quiet, close to everything, Mercato shops were fabulous and dining experience at Trattoria Stella deserved Michelin stars.
Owner was extremely responsive. Took a minute to figure out streaming TV and no local channels could be found but we are a little technology challenged. We loved the space!!!
I stayed here with my husband and two children for one night while we were passing through Traverse City. what a cool little apartment! We were tired from a day on the water and decided to cook our own dinner and eat in - the kitchen was perfectly stocked and had everything we needed. Bed is super comfortable and the rooms are a comfortable size. We didn’t have a chance to check out the shops in the Mercato, but they looked fun and interesting. I would absolutely come again. Thank you!
This property NEVER disappoints! We enjoyed the amenities of The Village with all the comforts of home. The property is perfect for a family trip, and we cannot wait to go back. Beth is fantastic to work with and ensures an enjoyable stay.
We loved the history of the property - proximity to different activities around the area including shopping and eateries in the same building! Only dislike was the pull out bed was really loud and uncomfortable but I think that’s how they’re going to be by nature. We would come here again.
Had a great time in TC and at this property.. Beth the property manager was very helpful with the check in process and answering any questions that we had.. The property was very clean and described perfectly in the listing.. Thanks!
This was the perfect spot for the two of us! Everything was clean, in working order, and tastefully decorated. Bed and couch were both crazy comfortable. Definitely recommend!
Absolutely fantastic experience, as always, at The Commons. Working with Beth was an added bonus, she was prompt with responses, thorough with check in procedures, and courteous in everything. Highly recommend the property for a solo or small family getaway. We'll be back!
Property is great. Condo has everything you could need. Building is beautiful. The area is fantastic. Lots of great food and shopping. We’d stay here again!!
My 16 year old son, spouse and I had an awesome 3 night stay. This rental is the best stocked VRBO I have stayed in over 8 years of rentals. Paper products, soap, shampoo, laundry supplies. How convenient! The beds, bedding, towels are all excellent. We didn't cook any meals, but the kitchen is well stocked. Only complaint was the lights shining in from the hallway. By the 3rd night we found the switch to turn off the spotlights, so it was much better. It may be worthwhile to have a curtain for the hall window in the living room for person sleeping in pull out! Beth is great, fast responses to questions. Thanks!!
