There was no screen door, the outdoor furniture wasnβt in very good condition. The restaurant at the marina wasnβt open all day which was very disappointing for the kids. We had messaged the host but didnβt hear back from them. Not the trip we were used to from previous years here.
We stayed on the boat for a weekend and had a great time! The boat crew were fantastic and so friendly! And access to the resort was perfect for the overall cost. We will definitely be back!
This was exactly what we needed! Peaceful, beautiful and very relaxing. We slept like babies on the boat and even took much needed naps! The staff was helpful and kind. We look forward to going back God willing!
Every was as described. Everything was clean. The place was very cool and had a great set up. It happened to rain the entire stay, but would have been awesome otherwise
It was a great location. The place was good. The loft is great for little kids. The showers were in a building along withbathrooms. Only use toilet when emergency. The place was great except for that. Would rent again

The access to the resort amenities made this rental good overall. That said, the house boat itself had a couple of things that would benefit future guests and the unit if the host addressed them. First, there are cobwebs all over the inside and outside of the houseboat. Many spiders crawling around inside. It did not appear that any sweeping of the walls or ceilings had been done in quite a long time. The outdoor table and chairs on the lower level deck are extremely rickety and very difficult to get in and out of, especially on a moving, rocking boat. I understand that this is a marine toilet and you discourage use of it, however, the sewer odor in the boat was very overwhelming for the majority of our stay. Not sure if it needed emptying/pumping but it was very unpleasant. The back slider in the bedroom did not lock nor did it stay closed. The rocking of the boat opened it repeatedly. Again, the access to the amenities of the resort, the pool, the beach, the little bar with food, was really great. The unit itself needs some attention, especially for a 500 per night price tag.
My son and I had a great time. Great location. House boat was a neat experience. The bathrooms were well cared for. I did want to add that Gunner was amazing! Not only did he assist me and answer all my questions I noticed he really works very hard taking care of the property. I witnessed him every day assisting the boaters, raking the beach, taking care of the garbage, check the pool skimmers, keeping the fast boats away from the docks, etc. He rarely stopped moving all day. You are lucky to have him!!

The amenities are superb. I should have properly read the description regarding the actual boathouse It is beautiful, with all the necessary things aboard. Bringing linens, pillows, towels, groceries plus all personal items is quite a feat. They do provide wagons to transport item down the dock to the boathouse. (It took me four trips to bring our stuff in for 4 days.) The dock is very narrow and leans so if you have mobility issues be careful. It is however relatively easy to check in with a lock box and key on door. There are 2 houseboats about 6 feet from each other so not a lot of privacy but the boat is equipped with nice easy pull down shades. Everything is pretty new and clean, however the spider webs are everywhere. Understanding this is an actual boat in the water, webs form quickly. I think a more intense cleaning at the beams inside and around the lights and mini splits is necessary. Providing a broom would be helpful for guests to keep porch and inside free of webs. I did use a swiffer mop to knock down some of them. The other negative was the bathroom, while it has a very nice bathroom with all new fixtures you are asked to use the yacht clubs showers and toilets, we did use the toilet on board as it was hard for me to walk to the public facilities because of an injured hip.The positives are endless, the property, beach, pool, grounds are maintained beautifully and while the staff is young, they are hardworking, helpful and very kind.
We stayed at this boat house for an extra long weekend before the kids went back to school. We booked this house because of its proximity to Laconia and Meredith and it didnβt disappoint. We were able to bike into town and get breakfast smoothies, ice cream and spend all our money at the arcades!! If you are looking for a different vacation rental that your kids will think is cool, this is for you. Lance and the dock hands were very responsive and always available to help. The Awka Marina is well kept, with many things to keep the family busy.
We enjoyed our vacation on the houseboat! Such a beautiful setting on the lake. The Akwa Marina staff (special shout-out to the dockhands) were so friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be returning. Thank you Akwa!
We stayed on one of the houseboats and had an awesome time! It was a very unique experience. The Beach Bar was amazing, the staff was great and the food was delicious. The only complaint we had was that there was no cable tv and very spotty wi-fi; luckily we had great weather so it wasn't a huge issue! We will definitely be back!
Great Marina and brought back memories of spending a summer on a boat. I enjoy the rocking being on the water. The staff at the marina were outstanding, friendly and very helpful.
Amazing unique experience for a small family, my 9 year old son loved the loft with his own space to hang out. The boat is larger than expected but exactly as shown in the photos and all furnishings are new and clean. We didn't expect to be in walking distance to Weirs Beach and it's arcades, pier, shops and restaurants. We had the marina amenities all to ourselves since it was an end of season trip and we fully enjoyed the hot tub, coldplung into the lake, bocce courts and fireside drinks. The poolside bar was already closed so check their Facebook page for off season travel. Short trip to Gunstock and the mountain coaster and hiking. This boat is at the best location for family travel.
