We had such a lovely stay at this property. The house is so charming and cozy and in such a great location next to Wilmington. We enjoyed the nearby restaurants after long days of skiing at Mt Snow. Great memories were made and we hope to return next year!

We had a delightful stay in this home with a beautiful view, fully stocked kitchen, near gorgeous nature, and our grown children came along with their nearly three year old son. We swam, hiked and enjoyed the charming town of wilmington.

Glad you were able to swim as it was not so warm. Thanks for the review
We had a wonderful stay. The house is surrounded by beautiful hills and farmland. It is close to a scenic reservoir and Wilmington is such a cute little town with some nice restaurants. Mr. Schulze left clear instructions and everything related to the house was easy to navigate. The house is older, but definitely cozy and comfortable. The kids had a great time having fires and exploring the outdoors. Highly recommend!

Glad your stay was pleasant -thanks for the review. It came at the right time as I am in FL responding to a direct hit on our home in Pt Charlotte where the wind saw fit to blow open our front and lanai doors and welcome nature into our living room. Believe it or not we were the lucky ones. Vermont is the place.

Such. Wonderful property so peace and quiet. Loved being able to walk my dog every morning. Have alittle fire while having my morning coffee. Everything is close to town..but we barely left the party. We just enjoyed it!

My staff from a summer school program stayed here while chaperoning a rafting trip at Zoar Outdoor in Charlemont, MA. They enjoyed their overnight stay at this house. The only small critiques was that it smelled a bit musty and the internet connection was weak. But on the whole they had a positive experience at this home. On my end, the owner was responsive and easy to communicate with.

Grateful for the feedback. Seriously bad weather (flood warnings) surrounded this visit and left our basement wet and musty, but hopefully made the water fun for the group that much better. Mountain signals are weak so we have added Dish. Guests showed respect for the property and are welcome anytime.
We were in Wilmington for an event traveling with two families with 5 children ages 5 -12. The kids loved the solarium, living room, foosball table and bunks. A very charming home in an absolutely idyllic location. Gorgeous hikes to the lake, kayaking, picnicking... a perfect backdrop to make your own memories. I can only imagine how perfect it is during sky season. Karl couldn't have been a better host. Fully recommend.

My family and I spent 4 days at this home. It is as the pictures describe. Karl, the host, is most gracious. He provided all the instructions that were needed to enjoy the home. If you are a person looking for a secluded vacation, away from life's distractions and like a good fireplace experience, this is your spot. The town of Wilmington was fun, and close to all other spots. A great spot for a skier. The only challenge we found, in the Winter, is driving to and from the home. The road is dirt and can be an adventure. I would love to see what it the experience is like in summer and fall, I am sure it would be grand. So, thank you Karl for allowing us to enjoy your home. We recommend to anyone wanting to enjoy all that Vermont has to offer.
Despite the chilly Vermont December rain and mud our family had a lovely few days in this charming farmhouse. We woke to early morning visits from a family of turkeys, a fleeting glimpse of a fox, and plenty of birds hopping around in the trees. Our young kids enjoyed the space to spread out and play in the living room with a fire going, and in the sunroom with rolling fields out back. We enjoyed warming up in the sauna. The house was clean and had everything we needed for cooking. The only thing I didn’t see was a kettle, but we worked around it. I’d love to come back in the summer for a warmer weather visit. There’s plenty to do nearby - we hiked the Hoot, Toot and Whistle trail from town, spent a day over at MassMoCA, and found a dusting of snow on the higher elevations, just enough for a snowy hike amongst the trees. Plenty of choices in Wilmington for eating out and book shopping. We’ll definitely come back!
Really enjoyed the farmhouse. All the positive reviews were valid. Appreciated the 12 o’clock check in as it allowed us to enjoy a full day upon arrival. Karl was excellent host and provided thorough instructions. Nearby lake is very nice. House layout is spread out and 6 of us had plenty of room. Sauna was a very nice plus. Back deck with nice view had chairs and a grill and was very nice as we spent most of our time there. Would definitely return.
This property is perfect for a quiet getaway with your partner, family or friends. The property is well kept, large and plenty of space from neighbors. We were lucky and caught the tail end of their wild raspberries.
The sunroom is epic and frankly would have been happy is that was the only room in the house. The house had everything you could need.
The property is close to town and even closer to one of the cleanest reservoirs I've ever swam in. (Also a nudist beach).
Wilmington is cute with good eats and drinks, and is walkable with plenty of parking.
Come winter will definitely be looking to stay here again to be somewhere comfortable near mount snow.
We had a great time at Karl’s house- it is very comfortable and had everything we needed for a short summer break. We had 4 adults, 4 kids (ages 1-10) and a dog, and loved the location and space! We would definitely consider coming back.
Recently returned from a family trip that included three generations (my father in law, mother in law, my wife, her sister, her sister's husband, myself, and two teenage boys. The house was perfect for all. Plenty of natural beauty right at the home that includes a solarium (which was wonderful to sit in), a sauna (which my wife loved), and a foosball table (which the teenage boys loved). The house is located on a peaceful country road surrounded by farms. The house itself is also spacious and well kept. All the appliances were great (particularly the indoor oven and the backyard grill which appeared to be brand new). One can easily just spend a full day at the house enjoying the natural beauty all around. Cars occasionally go by but the area is quiet. There is a huge gorgeous lake a short walk or drive away (which is where I spent most of my time and can imagine spending a lot more). Everything was in working order and the Karl's instructions were clear, concise, and easy to follow. Wifi and cellular service are less than ideal in that area but honestly I never cared. I was too busy swimming, hiking, and fishing at the lake. And when I was at the house I was more than content sitting on the back porch marveling at the natural beauty all around. If you are looking to get away to a quiet peaceful place you have found it
Wow! An amazing house to stay in! The house was spotless and the property and neighborhood were stunning! The location was perfect, being right outside of town. We had excellent communication with the owners and the entire process was easy. I highly recommend this house!
We had a lovely stay in Karl’s home with our two young kids. The house is very comfortably furnished and had everything we needed for 5 nights. We appreciated thoughtful touches like the blackout window treatments, the spare phone chargers, and the sauna (a high quality electric sauna that even the most devoted wood fired sauna fans will not sneer at). The kitchen and furnishings are well loved/aged but gave the house a warm vintage vibe. The house is close to the road but there were extremely few cars passing by and it felt very secluded. The location is great too, with an awesome swimming lake a 10min walk down the hill, the town of Wilmington 5 min away, and lots of other places to explore within half an hourish.
This old Farm house is a great retreat. The conservatory was our highlight, you could spend the whole day watching clouds or listening to the rain! The Sauna and jetted tub was an amazing addition after a day of hiking. The proximity to Wilmington is perfect, great places to eat and quaint downtown. My only critical critique was the oven was unusable because of the markings being worn off, we had no intentions of cooking for our small group and went into the local town for big meals. The backyard has a great view and we were even visited by some wild turkeys in the morning.

Thanks for the positive thoughts about your stay in VT. Sorry you had to experience the sound of rain on the conservatory roof but it is, indeed, relaxing. The stove markings have unfortunately worn away and we forgot to mark the set points on the dial. A new stove is scheduled for installation 8/11. Come up again and use the new one.
Best, Karl
