About this property

Unique Setting - Built on Quarry Bed

This property is know as our Carriage House.
We also have a one bedroom unit available, known as Quarry House Guest Bedroom. This guest bedroom is located across a 6 foot outdoor hall from the Carriage House. The combined units can accommodate 9 persons. See listing #1328037

We are located 1.5 miles from down town Fish Creek on Spring Road. We have a large area to park a boat or extra car.

We have been featured in Door County Living magazine and the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. We have a unique quiet setting, yet near to all Door County has to offer.

The Carriage House is an 1100 square foot luxury accommodation in a second floor setting with it's own private entrance. The main house is owner occupied. The Carriage House (rental area) has a master bedroom suite with a beautiful wake up view of the woods. There is a great room with a queen murphy bed and two overstuffed comfortable chairs. We can set up a twin roll-a-way to sleep a 5th person. A second bedroom is available at an additional cost across the hall and sleeps 4 persons. It has a private entrance and private bath. Easy to relax! There is a full kitchen with an island to enjoy your home cooked meal. The oversized bathroom has a walk-in shower and jet bathtub.

We are also pet friendly. A dog must be totally housebroken and well taken care of. There is an extra charge for a dog, so be sure to state the number of persons and the number of pets.

We are actually built in a quarry. This is the 18th season of rental. We sincerely hope to make you stay with us memorable.

Mitch and Mary are great hosts and have a beautiful house. Everything was perfect. 2 miles from Fish Creek. It is in the North side so you can get to Peninsula entrance without having to go through Fish Creek.

We loved our stay here and it was a great home base for exploring Door County. The hosts are kind and friendly. They showed us inside their house and we chatted with them for awhile on several different occasions. Our 8 year old son loved playing with their dog who was the absolute sweetest! We will definitely look to stay here again for future Door County visits.

The property was excellent -clean, pet friendly, well accommodated - and the hosts were friendly and welcoming. If we needed anything, they were right there, and even offered a tour of the main portion of the house where we could see the quarry rock incorporated into the original build project. Very cool and unique property!

Such a unique and interesting property! The carriage house over the garage was very spacious with a well stocked kitchen (thank you for the coffee pods), comfortable beds, and lovely views front and back. Mitch and Mary checked us in personally, are so gracious, and were kind enough to offer us a tour of their home at checkout- a real treat! Great location close to Fish Creek downtown and many other attractions.

Great place to stay

My wife and I spent the July 4th weekend here and it was the best. Our hosts were extremely nice and the place was spotless. Mitch and Mary are such nice people and they really made us feel like they cared about us having a pleasant visit to Door County.We'll definitely plan to stay here again when we return to Door County.

Honeymoon getaway

Our hosts were personable and helpful. The quarry has great history and design while being close to all the attractions but yet being secluded. We had a great time during our stay, and Mitch and Mary are very sweet.

Mitch and Mary are a retired couple who fell in love with the Door County area. Mitch was a tile contractor and always wanted to build his own home. Since 2006 we have been building this home. Building in a quarry has presented some challenges, but it is guaranteed to be unique.

Door County offers so much with it's parks, beaches, theatres, restaurants and shopping.

What makes this property unique

It is a quiet private area yet within minutes of all Door County has to offer. Owners on premises to take care of any needs or problems.

We are pet friendly. A dog must be totally house broken and well taken care of. Dogs are not allowed that use pee pads. A cat must have a covered litter box. There is a $30 charge for each pet.
