Guests' Rules

Welcome to the rules for Lakefront Chalet. Our aim is to maintain a harmonious environment that aligns with local Code Compliance and respects the comfort of all guests. As part of this effort, we've established some friendly but firm and inflexible house guidelines.

1- Maximum Occupancy: 14 guests (10 adults max).

2- Parking: Space for 3 vehicles, including garage access for one vehicle. Exceeding the limit may result in fines of up to $1,000.

3- Pets: Pets Allowed (Max: 2 pets).
Pets require pre-approval: Post-approval, a $125 fee per pet applies (charged post-booking).
Unapproved Pets: incur a minimum of a $1,000 fine.
Pet Guidelines:
Kennel pets when unattended.
Keep off furniture/beds.
Clean up after them.
Charges apply for pet damages.
Coyote Warning: Coyotes are extremely prevalent in Big Bear, even in the most densely populated areas. If you see one, you can bet they're part of an unseen pack. These animals are bold and territorial. They pose a significant threat to pets. For their safety, never leave your pets unattended, even in fenced areas, especially after dark. Coyotes are known for their ability to overcome barriers, including high fences. And they're even known for attacking pets that are on a leash. We cannot overstate the need for heightened vigilance concerning your pets' safety.

4- Check-In: Conducted at The Village Office for a warm welcome and local code compliance.

5- Noise: Quiet hours from 10 pm to 7 am. You are not allowed to be outside, in a hot tub, play music or create any noise from inside of the residence that could be heard outside of the home. If these rules are violated, Code Enforcement could impose fines of up to $1,000 or eviction. (We have no control over Code Enforcement's decisions.)

6- Air Conditioning: NO, it does NOT include A/C.

7- Ants: Sometimes our ants can be a bit over-friendly. To keep these small visitors at bay, we suggest promptly cleaning up right after each meal and don't leave food out. (We do use ant bait & ant traps… and the ants tend to look at those as snacks.)

8- Trash: You are mandated by ordinance to dispose of your trash at the designated trash site. If you require assistance, we can arrange a pick-up service for a nominal fee.

9- Video Surveillance & Noise Monitors: We employ external video surveillance and noise monitors at most of our properties. (We do not have video or audio monitoring inside of the residences.)

10- No Smoking/Vaping: We have a very strict No Smoking and/ or No Vaping policy on the grounds of all of our properties.
*If any guest smokes or vapes on the premises during their stay, a minimum cleaning fee of $750 will be charged automatically to the Credit Card on file to cover the cost of carpets cleaning, dry cleaning of all bedspreads, curtains, etc. And the security deposit will be forfeited.

11- Age: Minimum booking age is 24.

12- Parties: No parties allowed; parties will result in immediate eviction and forfeiture of the security deposit. Additional cleaning fees may apply.

13- Communication: For questions or concerns, we're available via phone or email.

Note: Code Enforcement enforces all of the ordinances in Big Bear Lake. We have no control over the decisions they make, up to and including fines and evictions.

Note: Any eviction, you will not be entitled to a refund.

Your comfort and satisfaction are our top priorities. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us with any queries or concerns; we're just a phone call or an email away.

For a comprehensive understanding, we encourage all guests to review the Terms & Conditions, Check-In and Check-Out procedures, and Guest Policies.

These guidelines are designed to ensure a smooth stay and protect the appeal and integrity of our homes.

By adhering to these, you're helping us maintain a peaceful and enjoyable environment for all.

Beautiful property on a cul de sac.
There is nothing bad about this property. The second you pull up and walk through the door it feels like coming home. All amenities were well thought out and easy to find. The ants (Its California so yes ants) were pretty much non existent. There is construction going on next door but we never heard them and the workers were courteous when seen. We really enjoyed our stay and I hope that we can enjoy this property again some time.

Clean and comfortable lakefront
Exceptionally clean home, but pretty dated. A few things could use repairing, but overall good home. The master shower and trash receptacle in kitchen especially need a little TLC. Comfortable bedrooms for our whole family of 5 and 2 small dogs. Nice lakefront location, great fire pit in the back yard, very clean grill! Close to the village area and boating in the summer.

Beautiful lakeside home
We came with 3 families with children, this house was very spacious and comfortable for that size of a group. The check in was so easy and friendly, the dock behind the house allowed us to fish all weekend, which was so fun, but we could have also used it for a boat. There is one side of the backyard that doesn’t have a fence, which was a slight safety concern for the kids and dogs but the yard was still beautiful and peaceful. Everything else in the home was so lovely, the kitchen and living room were a great hub for our friends, I highly recommend the property.

Good Bad and Ugly
GOOD- Spacious house well laid out, would accommodate larger group and not feel cramped. Good furniture nicely decorated. Outdoor space well laid out for different groups. (See bad for issues) Good location less than a mile from shops and restaurants. SoCal the property managers were very helpful with below issues and immediately reacted to them. BAD- Dog poop in yard. Ants in kitchen. Have to take your garbage to the dump. Can't be outside after 10pm due to noise ordinance. Amenities listed boat dock and fireplace, but boat dock closed, and city ordinance doesn't allow open flames. Also first day we noticed a lot of water in front yard turned out they had a pipe break so they turned off water first day and then worked for 2 more days. AND NO hot water the first day and only warm for the next two days. UGLY- Original post did not say anything about construction next door. Website updated to say construction M-Sat 8am to 6pm. We got lucky and they weren't working but it did impact the view and the site was a mess! The outdoor eating area looked directly onto wood and tarps everywhere. (See pics)
