Original rough sawn ceiling joist are exposed, with the builder's layout marks clearly visible on the ceiling highlight the main living area where you can relax on the sofa. The space
After a day of exploring the mountains or desert around Escalante, wash the trail dust off in a warm shower and let your muscles recover during a peaceful nights rest on the queen size bed. Open the windows at night to experience the 30-40 degree cooldown from the warm temperature of the daytime and the night sounds of a rural community. View the expanse of space from the back patio. When hunger strikes, the well-equipped kitchen boasts a to-scale fridge, range, microwave, sink, and plenty of dishware, so it won't be a struggle whipping up some of your favorite recipes in this small space. The Little House is a jewel in Escalante. I used it as a home base for hiking, visiting national parks, relaxing, and even working remotely when the situation arose. I appreciate the flawless wifi to take care of those work responsibilities. Melani is as responsive as it gets if you need anything, and Alan was a joy to chat to. I especially enjoyed the privacy fence in the backyard as I sat and watched the hummingbirds flit about. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

We just LOVED the little house! When we first walked in we thought, oh my, this is awfully small. But it became immediately clear that it was so efficiently organized (and adorable) that we were very comfortable. Melani was very responsive and it was a real treat staying there. Highly recommended!

Absolutely perfect for this individual spending the month of May in Escalante. Explored the town and surrounding area including Bryce Canyon, Kodachrome Basin State Park, Petrified Forest, Hole in the Rock Heritage Site and Road, Escalante River Trail by Lower Calf Creek, and scenic Hwy 12. Was looking for a quiet retreat to read and write, bird watch and enjoy photography. The Little House was everything I hoped and more. Perfect hosts, excellent communication, immaculate in all respects, super comfortable bed. Would return in a heart beat. So appreciate Melani and Alan sharing this historic home!
