We enjoyed our Cape Cod stay!

Great place and location for our family of adults. The location was just a 15 minute jog to the beach, or an easy 5 minute drive with all your beach things in tow. Also, easy access to restaurants with Hyannis to the left or Dennis / Orleans to the right!

Staying at the Seagull house was a bit like staying at Uncle Joe’s when he was unexpectedly called away. The owner’s belongings were in marked drawers of every chest and cabinet. There were items on every table and shelf. There were signs on the a/c and for the cushions and toilets and awning. There were almost no glasses. I don’t like to drink wine out of red plastic cups. There weren’t enough knives. The pots pans and covers were a total mess. 1/2 the kitchen sink was covered by butcher block. The pot holders weren’t clean. I bought new ones and left them there. Ditto to cutting boards. New butcher block was on every kitchen counter and you were asked not to damage it. The kitchen was hardly usable. If you are concerned about steps there is one out to the patio, one down to the family room. One up to the door, one down to the grassy area. The sliding doors need a strong application of WD40.The beach chairs were partially broken. There are plenty of beach towels but not enough bathroom towels. You can’t open most of the windows because there are a/c in the ones you can reach. The stereo runs on cassettes which most of us don’t bring with us. There were no cards and only two games. The beach is nice with bathrooms and a food stand. The sand is hard walking and very Shelly. If you’re a beach person it’s fine. It’s an easy drive from the house. Next time rent a different house.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re always aiming for a 10/10 experience, which is why prior to this review we had a 9.7/10 rating! We’d like to clarify a few points for future guests: • Mattress & Furniture: specifically for this guest’s request we purchased and installed a brand-new firm queen mattress. New beach chairs are purchased each season. • Kitchen & Cooking: Fully stocked with new pots, pans, utensils, and both glassware and beach-friendly cups. We provide a request to renters to be careful with the lovely brand-new butcher block counters. The kitchen also has a modern gas stove, a doubly size sink, dishwasher, and full-size refrigerator. • Linens & Towels: The house is supplied with 20 standard bath towels, along with 8 large beach towels. A housekeeper is available and was provided for you to reach out during your stay who would gladly have provided more towels for your party of two. • Air & Windows: Each room has multiple windows allowing for fresh air, and AC units are provided in each room for comfort. • Steps: The home is built to code and has a few single-step transitions (to patio, family room, grassy area). • Entertainment: A 50-inch smart TV with an MP3 soundbar delivers excellent sound when paired with any smartphone. The vintage cassette stereo is there for fun nostalgia. • The Beach: Seagull Beach is one of the largest and most popular on the Cape, with lifeguards, bathrooms, and a snack stand. Basic Good Location

Host was available to answer questions and the check in process was very easy. The house is a quick 2 minute ride to Seagull beach which has an 800 car parking lot, so you can sleep in and still get a great spot at the beach. One daily parking pass for $20 will get you into any of several Yarmouth Beaches. We liked the Bass River Beach, the last beach of five or six in town. Beach chairs were available to use in the house. We arrived after a heatwave to a house that was 82° inside. We needed to go buy two box fans to help cool down the interior. It took several hours for the house to be comfortable. The window AC in the entryway didn’t cool down that space for several days. It would have been nice for the air conditioners to be turned on prior to our arrival. The house was moderately clean, surfaces were dusted but not super clean. The kitchen was surface clean, but drawers were not especially clean. There was one dirty sponge in the sink that we threw away and replaced with new. The oven mitts and hot pads were not clean with food particles. This could have been fixed by tossing them into the washing machine. The washer and dryer are only accessible by going out doors and entering through a bulkhead. The listing said towels and sheets would not be provided for our three night stay so we brought everything, only to find towels in the bathrooms and sheets on the beds. We stripped and used our own. The yard was well maintained. There were lots of outdoor games available. .

Unfortunately, the heatwave during your stay was particularly intense and not at all typical. While we do have AC units in every room, we understand that it took some time for the house to reach a comfortable temperature. Regarding the time to cool the house, we wish you’d reached out to us as that has never been the case and we would gladly have replaced the ac unit, which we have done since your stay. We strive to ensure that every guest arrives to a perfectly clean and comfortable home. We're sorry that the level of cleanliness did not meet your expectations. Had we been made aware of these issues, we would have sent our cleaning team back immediately to address them, as we did with our handyman who came immediately after you had called about the outdoor shower. We always aim to respond quickly to any concerns our guests have, and we're glad we could assist you promptly in that instance. Similarly, we apologize for any confusion about the linens and towels. Our standard practice is to provide clean linens, freshly made beds, and towels. We understand that the listing could have been clearer, and we will make sure to update it to avoid any future misunderstandings. Girls weekend!

I had some friends coming to visit for my bridal shower so we decided to make a weekend of it! There were 6 of us staying at the house. The rental manager Kathleen kept in communication with me leading up to our stay and even checked in to make sure that our stay was off to a good start once we had arrived. We had a slight issue with the A/C tripping the breakers (naturally we were in the middle of a heat wave) and Kathleen made sure to communicate with the owner Tom, who even reached out to me directly to try to address the issues. Tom was incredibly responsive and made sure to send a handyman out to try to fix the problem to make sure that we had A/C. The house was exactly as described in the listing- very spacious and really cute. There was plenty of room for the 6 of us inside and we really enjoyed spending time in the backyard too. Overall, we had a great stay!
