About this property

Authentic 100 Year Old Farmhouse, Farm setting in the foothills of the Smokies

Enjoy the beauty of East Tennessee with a stay in this authentic 100 year old farmhouse. Located close to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, but far enough away to get out of the crowds and traffic. Both Douglas and Cherokee Lakes are close by as well as convenient access to Knoxville and Morristown. Enjoy a peaceful vacation, business trip, or fishing excursion while staying on a working farm surrounded by animals and wildlife.

We have made some general updates to a 100+ year old house to provide modern comfort and convenience. However, we wanted to keep the authentic farmhouse charm with our décor. You will find the home furnished with antiques and will notice pictures throughout the house of Henry and Altha Puckett who called this place home from the 1940's until Mrs. Puckett passed away at the age of 103 in 2015.

This property is located on a working farm, so you may see several activities going on during your stay depending on the season. Generally your view will consist of a quiet pasture with cattle grazing and the occasional deer or wild turkey passing through. Plenty of parking is available near the house, we just ask that you do not block access to the barn with your vehicles during the day.

Other things to note:
2.5 miles to I-40
5.5 miles to Douglas Lake
8 miles to Carson-Newman University
12.5 miles to Cherokee Lake
25 miles to Dollywood
27 miles to the University of Tennessee
30 miles to Gatlinburg

Beautiful cozy house away from people

This house is very clean and cozy, not too far from the interstate and no crazy winding roads to have to endure. Perfect for a quiet getaway, beautiful porch with a great view for morning coffee. Close enough to Pigeon Forge and Sevierville to go do things. This house is wonderful and priced well for the area.

TN farmhouse

Clean, comfortable, and conveniently located! We enjoyed a long weekend at the Puckett House and had a great experience! Our family of 6 slept comfortably and the location is very peaceful but only a 30 min drive to Pigeon Forge. Communication was excellent and we had everything we needed!

Home Away From Home

My mother, aunt, and 17 year old son stayed the week of Christmas. Every thing was clean and just as posted! Christmas tree was beautiful. Had all the utensils we needed to make a Christmas dinner and had that very “homey” feeling. Will definitely stay again!!!

The best place!

If you like a place off the beaten path that has a lot of old time charm and takes you to the country, this is the place for you! It’s 20 minutes from Douglas Dam camp ground/boat ramp (we fish the Mountain Music Kids Fishing tournament every year, so this was a great location!) We were about 20 min from dandridge and about 30 min from Pigeon Forge. Nice country roads to get you there, it literally feels like a 10-15 min drive! The host literally had everything we would need! All types of coffee!! Flavor packets for water!! A basket full of stuff for s’mores and firewood already on the fire pit (might need lighter fluid if you can’t start a fire without it!) There were a few laundry tablets if we needed them. There was even a drawer that had extra q-tips, razors, bandaids, etc! She literally had thought of everything anyone might need! BOARD GAMES GALORE! My kids aren’t growing up in the world of board games like I did, so they thought this was a huge hit!! King bedroom was good size! The day bed is in a room between the kitchen and bathroom (must walk through it): had a trundle bed as well! Perfect for kids! Upstairs is SO FLIPPING CUTE! My kids are 10 and 7, I was worried that my clumsy 7 year old woken fall, but he didn’t! I would be extra careful before I had little bitty ones stay up there alone due to stairs but there was TONS of room! Has a full bed and twin. Plenty room for a pack n play or air mattresses if you had more kids! There were 6 of us- 4 adults and 2 kids and we had more than enough r room. Everything was so clean! Sheets smelled clean! The bathroom was so clean! Towels so clean! Beds were comfy! I felt safe the entire time as did the rest of us. We all said we would definitely come back again! Check in was easy! Requirements when checking out were easy! Thank you so much for providing a cute little old house that has so much charm and takes us out of the busy Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg life into a nice country setting.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay here. It was nice and peaceful and a great location. The owner left a nice basket of food and snacks for us. One small complaint is that there was some sort of alarm chirping loudly at all hours of the day and night, not sure if it was the smoke detector or carbon monoxide or something else.

Puckett House

We throughly enjoyed our stay!! We were in town to visit our college-aged daughter who lives near by. From the basket of goodies to the comfortable beds! Everything was exactly as described in the listing. Friday night consisted of provided making for s’mores around the camp fire. The goodie basket had water flavoring which was perfect for our Saturday on the go. Saturday night consisted of movie watching on the smart TV. Slept so soundly didn’t even hear the strong storms roll through. We mentioned several times we have found our “go-to” place to stay when we visit the area. Looking forward to the next trip.

Back In Time

Great experience. It was like sitting in my Grandmas house which I cherished growing up. Enjoyed the decor and history behind it. Great place to reflect on importance of enjoying a simple life. As my son was fishing in a big tournament on Cherokee Lake it allowed much needed time with one of my adult granddaughters. Memories made for sure. Thanks again for the hospitality.

We loved the absolutely beautiful farm setting. The home was comfortable and unique. We felt at ease and especially enjoyed the swing on the front porch. The home is the perfect place for relaxing, but close to all the fun that East Tennessee has to offer!
