Authentic 100 Year Old Farmhouse, Farm setting in the foothills of the Smokies
Enjoy the beauty of East Tennessee with a stay in this authentic 100 year old farmhouse. Located close to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, but far enough away to get out of the crowds and traffic. Both Douglas and Cherokee Lakes are close by as well as convenient access to Knoxville and Morristown. Enjoy a peaceful vacation, business trip, or fishing excursion while staying on a working farm surrounded by animals and wildlife.
We have made some general updates to a 100+ year old house to provide modern comfort and convenience. However, we wanted to keep the authentic farmhouse charm with our décor. You will find the home furnished with antiques and will notice pictures throughout the house of Henry and Altha Puckett who called this place home from the 1940's until Mrs. Puckett passed away at the age of 103 in 2015.
This property is located on a working farm, so you may see several activities going on during your stay depending on the season. Generally your view will consist of a quiet pasture with cattle grazing and the occasional deer or wild turkey passing through. Plenty of parking is available near the house, we just ask that you do not block access to the barn with your vehicles during the day.
Other things to note: 2.5 miles to I-40 5.5 miles to Douglas Lake 8 miles to Carson-Newman University 12.5 miles to Cherokee Lake 25 miles to Dollywood 27 miles to the University of Tennessee 30 miles to Gatlinburg

We throughly enjoyed our stay!! We were in town to visit our college-aged daughter who lives near by. From the basket of goodies to the comfortable beds! Everything was exactly as described in the listing. Friday night consisted of provided making for s’mores around the camp fire. The goodie basket had water flavoring which was perfect for our Saturday on the go. Saturday night consisted of movie watching on the smart TV. Slept so soundly didn’t even hear the strong storms roll through. We mentioned several times we have found our “go-to” place to stay when we visit the area. Looking forward to the next trip.
Property is perfect as always!! Love that there are always deer in the back field. No steep roads or driveways. Porch is so inviting for morning coffee.

We loved the absolutely beautiful farm setting. The home was comfortable and unique. We felt at ease and especially enjoyed the swing on the front porch. The home is the perfect place for relaxing, but close to all the fun that East Tennessee has to offer!
The Puckett House was so perfect in every way! The entire house was spotless, had everything we could ever need and more, just a perfect view from that porch swing. Beautiful, peaceful place to stay!
We had an absolute great time the house was so clean and it takes you back to your grandparents house with updates . It was fun just relaxing and enjoying time with family.
Great experience. It was like sitting in my Grandmas house which I cherished growing up. Enjoyed the decor and history behind it. Great place to reflect on importance of enjoying a simple life. As my son was fishing in a big tournament on Cherokee Lake it allowed much needed time with one of my adult granddaughters. Memories made for sure. Thanks again for the hospitality.
