THE SPACE
We hope you enjoy our comfy beach house, whether relaxation, beach'n, or fun activities. Our family has shared many fond memories in this home, which spans over several generations.

Bedroom/bathroom layout is:
Primary bedroom on main level with a king size bed, baby crib and smart TV. There is an en-suite bathroom with a large jetted tub, separate shower and double vanity.

Off of the kitchen is a 3/4 bathroom.

Upstairs is a Queen bed (smart TV), jack-n-jill bathroom (with a washer and dryer).

The other side of the jack-n-jill bath is a bedroom with two twin size beds.

Additional guest bedroom is a queen size bedroom, smart TV, an adjoining bathroom with walk in shower. Queen size sleeper sofa on the main level in the family room.


Kitchen is nicely equipped and has a drip style coffee maker. A charcoal grill is on site for your use.

We're located mid-beach - halfway between the St Simons Pier Village and East Beach. This stretch of beach is not tide dependent and has plenty of walking distance in both directions. We're walking distance to local restaurant favorites like Crab Daddy's, Barrier Island Brewing, Fiddlers, and Porch.

Beach Gear Included!: This home offers beach gear such as beach chairs and beach towels FREE for your use! Bikes, carts, paddleboards and more are available for rent locally, discount included. There are no fees or surcharges attached to your reservation.

Pets: This home is dog friendly for dogs 25lbs or less with $250 pet fee, 2 dogs max. Unfortunately we can't host puppies < 1 year old or breeds known to insurance carriers as 'vicious', please ask if you're not sure.

No Smoking: No smoking is allowed in the home, on the porches/patios/decks, or on the property in general.

Minimum Age: Must be 25 + to book, or age 30 + on GAFL weekend (last weekend in October) For GAFL weekend (last weekend in October), guests must be age 30 + or kids with their parents, no student groups. We cannot make exceptions for that weekend.

No Events: No events or parties. No overnight guests beyond the original booking group.

Great family vacation!

The Byrd's Nest was perfect for our family - clean, spacious bathrooms, good laundry room, well-stocked kitchen with grill on small patio. The location on St. Simon was wonderful. Everyone enjoyed the stay and would love to return.

Great home in a great location.

Beautiful house with plenty of room and amenities. Parking right in front of the house with a carport in the rear. Beach access right across the street, and one of our favorite areas on St Simons Is.: Neptune Park/Mallory St just a couple minutes away.

Perfect Location

I had wanted to stay at the Byrd’s Nest for years. The property and location is hard to beat! The master bed is very firm and the living area could be more comfortable. We had issues with wifi and AC…the wifi never really resolving however the AC was taken care of almost immediately.

Golden Isles Christmas

This property was the perfect amount of space and the perfect proximity to the beach, shops, and restaurants. December was a perfect time to visit St. Simons. We were less than five minute walk to the beach with our family dog. The outdoor shower and hose was great for getting everyone cleaned up before coming back inside. We told the rest of the family they should join us next year with plenty of space to accommodate everyone.

It was ok.

The house we stayed in (Byrd’s nest) although had an amazing location was definitely not worth the price. There were absolutely no cleaning supplies. Not even and small vacuum or broom. I bought all my own cleaning supplies for keeping the house clean while we stayed. The dishwasher was absolutely disgusting. We didn’t even use it at all or open in after the first night when we saw it. There were random stains on the ceiling that I got on a step stool and cleaned off myself. When we walked in the house smelled like bleach like they had just finished cleaning, but only in the living room. There were no extras of anything, not even trash bags. There was a decent amount of basic serving utensils and cooking items but I rewashed everything I used before using. I didn’t want to think about the dishwasher being the source of cleaning it. The house had no general upkeep. I understand it’s coastal living and it gets dirty but the windows, back patio and most of the furniture was filthy. The floors were filthy from day one. I was walking around barefoot before bed and had to wash my feet before climbing into the white sheets. The price we paid for the house like I said was not worth the money outside of the fact that it was right across the street from the beach. If you just want a close to the beach bungalow with no frills then this is the stay for you.

Wonderful place

We just loved staying at the Byrd's nest. It was super clean, had everything we could possibly need and the location was perfect. It was just me, my husband and dog however the place was large enough for a big family or two. We can't wait to get back to Saint Simons and will definitely try to stay here agin.
