We’ve stayed at this property many times. Kitchen is very well supplied, house is cozy, screened in front porch is the best feature. We love it and will be back again! It’s also perfect for dogs - we appreciated the dog covers on the furniture!

Thanks for the great review. We are thrilled that you enjoyed your stay on St. Simons Island! We can’t wait to have you for another stay.
Perfect family get away. Great location. Steps away from beach and pool. Front porch was an amazing spot to enjoy the late afternoon/evening after a day at the beach and pool. Quiet and relaxing!

Yay! We are so happy that yo enjoyed your stay with us at The Coast Cottages! We look forward to welcoming you back again soon!
Wonderful time away at this quaint cottage. Cottage was clean and well kept, walk to beach in 5 minutes which was best part! Only issue would be that barbecue was dated and took longer than expected to cook on. Also, tv in master is in need of replacing, quite old and small.Overall we had a wonderful time! Management was great, communicated well with us.
Despite a few hiccups to start the trip, Hodnett Cooper, the property manager, went out of their way to make sure we were satisfied and comfortable in our stay. It all went smoothly and we had a great family vacation.

Updates needed
Invest in new mattresses, good linens for the beds, and need a new cleaning company. The home was pretty dirty

We appreciate your feedback and we will definitely look into the issues you mentioned. We hope to welcome you back again soon!
This home was absolutely beautiful. The poarch is amazing. The house is well equipped and has everything you need. The 4 star rating is due to the description. You have more than a few short steps to the beach. You cannot see the water from this home. The path to the beach has a long boardwalk. The boardwalk is very well maintained. The staff taking care of the homes, pools, and boardwalk were very friendly and professional.

We are happy that you enjoyed your stay with us at The Coast Cottages! thank you for your feedback. We appreciate it! We look forward to welcoming you back again soon!
The property is located on a fun strip of vacations rentals that looks picturesque. The house itself is ideal for two families, which is what we had. A short walk to the beach was a must everyday we were there. Overall, we had a great time and will definitely consider renting from Hodnett Cooper in the future. The reduction of 1 star was due to a lot of neglected maintenance issues with the property. The refrigerator filter light was red upon arrival, there is clear and active water damage in the valted room, which doesn't give occupants peace of mind with mold, the fence for the garbage cans fell apart when i opened it due to rot. This property just needs some work to bring it back to the standard Hodnett regards itself to keep.

We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay with us at The coast Cottages! Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate it! The house is currently being repainted and having a little work done this week! We do hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back again soon!
This is a sweet house, but one needs to realize it is more of a rustic cabin feel than a traditional beach feel. That was fine for us because we chose this house for other reasons especially the dog-friendly aspect. This house is old-be aware. We had no high expectations so we were fine. But know that the downstairs full bath is not a jack and Jill type setup. There is a full bath located inside a bedroom so in order to access it for showers, one must go through a private room. Awkward. There is a powder bath, which is nice. The house is clean and the best stocked kitchen I’ve been in. The last thing that was a bit shocking was that there was no recycling bin out front. Two garbage cans but no blue can. That really needs to be addressed since it would not cost owners anything.
The best part of the house is the screened-in front porch! I could have slept there.
This house is by far not the most modern or nice compared to the others. But this house to me, has the most character and charm. It stands out and is in a class of its own.
We had a wonderful week and taking our dog meant everything!

Thank you we are pleased you enjoyed the charm of this beach house, and hope to welcome you back again.
Loved our stay and made use of all the porches, pool and perfect beach.
The home was imperfect enough to feel comfortable with our dog, but clean enough not to feel like we were staying in a dog friendly space. Hardwood floors throughout helped.
The top porch area is accessible only by a steep ladder. We were still able to enjoy it a couple of times, but not as much as if it were accessible by stairs or a slanted ladder. Absolutely worth the climb for sunset time period, if you are able. Views of the sunset sky behind the beautiful homes.
The east beach is my favorite area - a little marshy to get there - but 1000% worth it. One of my favorite beaches in the world.
Front door lock and communication issues made checking in a little difficult. The messaging machine made getting in touch with someone who could let us in very challenging. Somehow we were able to connect with the AC maintenance person. - He was VERY, very helpful and made sure we were connected with help right away. Even followed up with us personally to ensure we got help. Thank you!
Hopefully the front door lock and communication issues will be addressed. (Even after we got into the home, the door was very difficult to lock and unlock on humid days. Also, the answering service prompts did not connect us with after hours management.)

We enjoyed our stay. We especially loved the screen porch. We rode bicycles, kayaked, walked on the beach, looked for birds, and ate. Couldn’t have been more perfect. (Oh, I forgot shopping!)

You would be better off elsewhere
We were initially booked for a 5 week stay but left after 3.5 weeks because of an unresolved issue with varmints that were coming under the house at night and making so much noise that it was impossible to sleep. Hodnett Cooperand there exterminator really dropped the ball in how they managed this, but when they learned that we were leaving early due to weeks of no sleep, they did finally step up to the plate, apologized and compensated us for the 9 days that we did not use.
Now, about the house....the best features were the location, beach access and a lovely screened in porch. However, the photos of the interior are misleading. The interior is in great need of renovation and freshening up from top to bottom. It is a pet friendly house which is a great plus, but we could not imagine how in the world you could comfortably fit 8 people in the cramped living spaces. The furniture in the living room is old, stained and very uncomfortable and needs to be replaced. The house has 3 bedrooms, but one of the downstairs bedrooms has the HVAC air handler in the bedroom closet so when the heat or AC goes on, it is like trying to sleep on a plane when you are seated next to the wing with the engines on it. There is a loft space that can only be accessed by a ladder, and there is nothing up there other than storage closets and the access to the roof deck so it just isn't practical( or safe ). A small spiral stair case would make it safer and more accessible.
This house would be realistically comfortable for 2 couples or a couple and one or 2 children( but only if the pest problem is properly addressed). The house is not appropriate for a long term stay but could be tolerable for a long weekend or a summer week. It really needs some decluttering and renovation.

We sincerely apologize for the issue that you experienced with the outside rodent(s). As you are aware, we had two pest control companies working in tandem to try to resolve the issue with traps, bait, a camera, you name it. We had been advised by them that issue was taken care of and no further evidence of rodents was found. After your departure we continued to check with no issue. We have had multiple guest in house since then and thankfully no one has had the same experience. Also the loft space is not advertised as an amenity since we agree that it is difficult to access. We would welcome another opportunity to host you.
