Gorgeous property. The owner has it beautifully designed, well-equipped, and super clean! The neighborhood has seen a bit of gentrification but still has its old-school Latino roots. We loved meeting the neighbors and their pups. The corner shop was amazing as well as the bars and restaurants. 10-15 mins cab ride to happenings downtown. Highly suggest.
We had a great family vacation and with this property being so close to the downtown attractions we wanted to see, this was perfect for us. Our family of 6 had plenty of space for our 3-night stay and the apartment was very neat and clean. Parking close to the house was stressful, as we arrived on a Friday night. Other than that, I would highly recommend this place!

Chicago Stay
When we arrived at our VRBO shortly after the check-in time, we had not yet heard from out host regarding entering the property. After a second phone call, he answered & provided us with door codes for entry. That first night, our oldest daughter (17) saw a mouse peek out in the kitchen & then retreat. I contacted host & he provided mouse traps that we placed around. (No mouse was caught or seen afterwards) The cupboards were stocked, but with old, out of date items, some not sealed or without lids. There were ants that were enjoying a bottle of honey & would make their presence known in the kitchen at different points. As a result, we kept all food items on the dining room table. Parking was a bit tricky at times. There is free street parking, if you can find it. One issue that was not communicated or mentioned was the street sweeping that takes place during the week. There are signs that get attached to trees along the curb indicating when sweeping will be taking place. If your vehicle is not relocated, you get ticketed. The neighborhood seemed pretty lowkey. We did speak with some nice people during our stay & felt safe. It did appear that there was an occupant upstairs, above the property (presumably the host) & a family that resides below. Overall, the rental worked out for us. I do believe that the host needs to do a better job of making sure that pantry's get cleaned out. A/C consists of 3 window units inside the rental. Parking info should also be more specific
The property is amazing and the host is super helpful and accommodating! I loved the location. There is a taco truck right down the road that is fun to eat at. The home decor is also amazing. Overall, it was a great place to stay and the host was great!
We (my partner, his son, and I) stayed here 4 nights while in Chicago visiting family. The place was much bigger than we expected. The pizza place nearby was delicious, and the little store nearby had all the extra items we needed. My main criticism of the flat is that the bed and pillows were so uncomfortable! I noticed it in another review also. If we decide to stay here again, I would sleep on the couch. Otherwise, it had everything we needed, and we would 100% stay again if the mattress and pillows were upgraded.
Loved the neighborhood and it was a five minute walk from the metro stop. Lots of restaurants, bars, and churches in the neighborhood. The room was clean and it was private. Also, during our stay there was a food truck right down the block and it was delicious.
Great location, grew up on the next block. Very comfortable, cozy. Me and my family are definitely going back they enjoyed it there. You can walk to the stores, restaurants, park. Its definitely a must stay.
The property was great, and Alec was a very responsive host when we had questions or concerns. Located just a five minute walk from the pink line, so it's pretty easy to get anywhere from here, even if it seems like it's far from downtown. Although we didn't get a chance to use it much, the kitchen was well equipped as well. Great experience!
Nice location and had most of what we needed. However bedding is lacking (no mattress pads and poor pillows) and limited plates / flatware—we only had one plate, one fork and one spoon, had most other kitchen items. Doors to bedrooms and bathroom don’t lock. Also, loud music coming from below was very annoying.
Everything was great with exception to 1 small missing appliance. The coffee pot. The machine was there but no pot, only solution presented was instant coffee which I was not a fan of. Other than that I will be staying here again, I will.just bring a coffee maker a d pot from home.
Overall my stay was great, nice quiet area, accommodating but it was hard to find parking in the neighborhood. If you stay here you’ll park about 3-5 blocks away but it is still free. It is a block away from major bus lines.
Nice location by Bobs Pizza and a large night taco truck. That's outside space to hang out with a fire pit. Walking distance to the Pink Line/18th and to Pilsen shopping and food.
Nice and clean! Nice rooms, and Quit building.. I Love the stay!!! It was no problem with Alex”anything I asked for, he helped me. He even let me smoke on the back porch and I was suppose, to smoke outside.. he”s a wonderful host! His neighbors upstairs was nice also! it’s just the parking is bad no where to park. The blocks be full! But I will be renting again!!!!!!
Alec is a great host, my friends & I stayed for the weekend. Check-in was very easy & Alec was very responsive when I had small questions about the property. I threw a small event here as well & my guests enjoyed themselves as well. I would definitely stay here again.
Alec was a great host! We had a little birthday party for my fiancé and neither Alec who lives upstairs or his family downstairs complained once about the noise. They even had the fire pit ready for us. 100% recommend. Neighborhood was very safe also And the house was super clean when we arrived.
The location is great – easily accessible between Midway airport and downtown Chicago. We drove in and then picked up a friend at Midway; we were in town for a game at Soldier Field; location was perfect for this. As we walked around the neighborhood, we never felt safety was a concern. Parking was difficult, especially when getting to the property later in the evening; free street parking, but we had to drive around for quite some time looking for a spot and we ended up parking about 5 blocks away each night. The host could provide more awareness or recommendations about parking.
Price seemed appropriate for the property. Overall clean. Kitchen was nice - updated, and stocked with dishes, silverware, some extra supplies. A few more bath towels would be nice. Nice TV – we used our own streaming service to it. Five of us stayed comfortably. Interior doors are all pocket doors and a little difficult to close. Beds are comfortable; we didn’t find sheets for the extra single mattress, but we had brought a sleeping bag so didn’t look too hard.
The unit didn’t have a binder of information. I had to ask for the wifi code; not sure what was expected for cleaning when we departed. But Alec was very responsive to all our questions, before and after our arrival.
The unit is the main floor, and looks like there may be living spaces above and below, but we never heard any of the neighbors. It was quiet; slept great. I could hear the L as a train passed a couple times, but the L line is not adjacent. We didn’t use the L, so no idea if a station is close.
Overall – we’d happily stay again.
