We had a wonderful stay at the rainforest retreat. The house had plenty of space for our party of 10 to relax in. Our favorite place was the second story covered porch that overlooked the rainforest. The house was clean and had everything that we needed on hand, including towels for the beach and coffee for the pot. A short drive down the road is a natural waterslide and swimming hole, which was a hit with my group. Luquillo Beach is nearby as well which is a fun day with the beautiful beach and the food kiosks. Overall it is a great house in a great location.
The host and co host were wonderful. Communicated promptly. Due to government shutdown the park was unavailable but there were lots to do in the area to explore.
Beautiful home, in a great location if you want to be near the rainforest and nature. Stunning vistas! Close to the beach and town. The roads are a little tricky if you are not used to driving in the mountains.
Beautiful place. Love the rainforest retreat. Peaceful sleep s

A big comfortable place, but lots to be desired.
The property is big and comfortable, but it could benefit from a deep cleaning and repairs to make the house up to standards. Also, the directions to the property are great, but you need to read them or download Google maps to get there.
We really enjoyed this vacation house! It was a great location to hike Angelito Trail and the rock slides. The bedrooms were all comfortable, the kitchen had all the supplies we needed, and there was plenty of indoor lounge space for when we were not out and about exploring. We definitely appreciated the detailed driving instructions, as finding it on our first night in Puerto Rico in the dark was not easy! But we got used to the hills and turns by the second day.
Beautiful home it only sleeps 8 not ten like advertised and no communication with host on were to put trash or when is it get picked up other then that it was awesome!
We stayed 2 nights. Off the beaten path location but excellent and detailed instructions on how to get there from host. You’re close to whatever you need but it feels more secluded.
Property was very clean and well cared for. They provide everything you need! There are even board games for the kids available. The washing machine and dryer were very helpful (there was laundry soap available too)! We didn’t find any fruit in the backyard but the plants were beautiful and our kids really enjoyed exploring the back yard. Would love to stay here again!
When I tell you that Casa Azul gave my family and I serenity! It did just that. I am a family of 6 and everyone had their own space and privacy. The land that the house sits have meaning to why Dan the owner named it the retreat. I stood for 2 weeks and I miss the house already. You will love your stay! My only issue is: there is only 1 tv throughout the entire home and with adult kids that was a problem. We had to rotate time slots - there was not enough time in the nights. lol but overall this was by far a wonderful experience living on the mountain for 2 weeks. Also the entrance to El Yunque rainforest is in the same direction to the home fascinating.

This property was disgustingly dirty. The pictures are photoshopped and not accurate. The back patio area hasn’t been maintained and the grass is six inches long. Outdoor chairs so dirty. Bathrooms dirty. Kitchen was so dirty we didn’t feel comfortable cooking. Every dish was dirty. I have photos of all it
We loved Dan’s place. It is on the edge of El Yunque National Forest. You’ve never heard so many birds during the day, and frogs and owls at night. Puerto Rican owl! Eastern red-legged thrush! The house is large and clean. It has a rustic feel but is very comfortable. It’s a bit of an adventure driving up the hill to the house, but if you plug the coordinates into Google Maps it takes you right there. Dan is a great communicator, and was very helpful and kind. He left some very useful reviews of restaurants and activities in the area. We would love to stay here again!
Het verblijf is ruim en netjes schoon aangetroffen. De locatie was voor ons goed: in de natuur en op maximaal 15 minuten rijden van de prachtige strand Balneário Monserrate.
Home was very clean and plenty of room for 7 adults.
Homeowner was very friendly and easy to get in touch with. Gave us several list on beaches and restaurants to go to. Loved hearing the sounds of nature and the beautiful landscape at this location. Would definitely love to come back some day. We enjoyed sitting around outside in what looked to be a open garage area and smelling the fresh air and watching all the small creatures around the area. Would definitely recommend staying here.
Loved the secluded area. Very quiet and tranquil. Very spacious and maintained. The place was a great way to spend my mother's 80th birthday with my 5 siblings. Not sure I'll spend it with them again lol but this place was amazing. Love the night time noise.

This review is so heart warming and moving. Thanks so much for staying with us. So appreciate your stay. Thanks!! Hope you get to make more special memories with your family. Happy birthday to your mom.
We were looking forward to finding some avocados like other guests have mentioned in their reviews but unfortunately weren’t able to. We did find a pineapple though. The house is five minutes away from the water slide and 10 minutes away from the Angelito trail head. The recreation area is another 10-15 minutes drive further along. Internet is very stable although there is no cell phone signal. The house would be perfect if there were a dish washer. Fully enjoyed our stay.
The property was spacious and met every one of our needs. My mother in law loved the nature aspect of it. The kids experienced the peace that comes with fresh air and adventures at its finest. From picking avocados to sliding down the natural slides in las pailas. We loved every second of it.
