Our stay at the lake house in Valatie exceeded our expectations. Even with the temperatures in the low teens we were more than comfortable. The cottage is well kept and has all the necessary amenities. Very relaxing, peaceful and easy access. We will definitely come back again.
Cabin #5 was super cute!! We did not have wifi on our way to the place, so make sure you get the instructions before you arrive! We were able to contact the owners calland instructed us to the correct cabin. What a lovely lake and beautiful resting spot! The fall colors were amazing! Grocery store right down the road for all your needs.
Stayed for a long weekend for a family event. House was beautiful and well appointed. Quiet and beautiful property. Everything you need is found here. Just buy food and drinks. Centrally located to the Hudson Valley, I believe it was worth the money to stay here.
We had a great time. The air conditioning was great and needed as we had hot and humid weather. We took a swim in the lake which was accessible from a floating dock. Instructions were accurate and provided some local suggestions. Close to a supermarket and farm stands.

very bad experience
After several years and many successful Vrbo and Airbnb stays, I regretfully report a truly terrible experience.
On January 14th, 2022 My husband and I arrived at 92 Knickerbocker Farm Road. The house and the amenities were as indicated in the profile. The owners seemed accessible and helpful.
What we first notice was how cold the house was, then that the main toilet had not been cleaned properly.
Within of 12 hours of our arrival, all the heat, hot water and cooking facilities became inoperable in the home because the owners forgot to pay their propane bill. This was a particularly cold weekend, we were hitting below zero. While the landlord seemed responsive to the dilemma, once we were without heating, the pipes promptly froze and flooded our bedrooms.
In an effort to ameliorate the problem, the owners brought open propane heaters which were totally unsuitable and quite dangerous to have indoors. In fact, we were forced to cook on this open flame in the living room.
We were a bit stuck with where we were and thus, forced to deal with random construction workers attempting to repair the burst pipes and the ongoing freezing conditions. We returned home seriously ill with colds and health problems arising from the inescapably inhospitable conditions. A complete refund is and was the appropriate remedy. This was refused and a 14 percent discount was offered on another stay, followed by the max discount they could offer was 20%
Assuming for the moment that the fiasco of no propane to heat or cook was unavoidable, the “remedy” of placing unsafe an (open flame) heater indoors and the failure to provide a complete and a prompt refund is NOT.
I had such a fabulous stay at this property! Beautiful lakeside setting. The home itself is perfectly designed. It has absolutely everything you would need to relax and recharge. I can't say enough about the design and the amenities. You will not be disappointed! I did not want to leave. I hope to be back again soon!
