We had 6 adults and 3 children in our group. The rental was perfect for our group. Loved being right on the river. The property had everything we needed. Will definitely rent again.
We did not have a clean house upon arrival, the heat did not work the first night, internet did not work, dryer did not work properly, they provided 1 roll of toilet paper per bathroom, 1 roll of paper towels, 2 laundry pods for 10 house guests. You are expected to provide all your own amenities, and wash all your own linens, and pay close to 1000 per night and nothing works properly. Their office hours are posted as 7 days a week 8-5, but they close early every day and you never know what that time is. Terrible management company! Cleaning service was horrible! I definitely cleaned it better than I found it!
This cabin sits right on the river! I had everything we needed to stay for a long weekend. The property management team is very friendly and great to work with! We would come back here for sure!

Fine house, but not what I booked
We do a trip to RR every July. This year, I booked in January to have a better selection. We found a property right on the river in Valley of the Pines, which is where the rest of our crew also stays. Two days before the trip, we got notified that we were being moved to a different cabin. The house we booked had a sewer leak, so we had to choose from this home, or another on the other side of town. Now, I know things happen- and I understand that the homeowner was trying to get someone to come fix the issue. My mediocre review is because we were told the new cabin was an “upgrade”, and since they had to move us, they would not charge us any more. This cabin was NOT an upgrade. It was so far from the river and right off the highway- we heard cars, not water. It had more bedrooms, yes, but we didn’t NEED more bedrooms- there were three of us. Additionally, I looked up the cabin to see how much it would be to book, and it was $200 cheaper than the original cabin I booked. So the company lied when they said it was an upgrade. So, we should have been issued a refund, and we should have been offered more options for cabins that would have fit our needs better. As for the cabin itself: It was clean, but there were no panes in two of the windows, and the sliding glass door to the deck had a broken handle that made it hurt your hand to open. It was an okay view, but there is another massive home directly behind it, in between it and the river. Plenty of driveway space for a trailer, though! All in all it was just an okay experience, and we will try to avoid booking with this company next year.
My husband and I had a week long getaway at this idyllic cabin set alongside the roaring river. The private bedrooms are small but very, very comfortable with a large loft and open, vaulted ceilings floor plan. Lots of updates and a fireplace! We stayed there over Memorial Day weekend while Red River hosts a large motorcycle rally. I spent a lot of time out side with our two dogs (pet friendly!) and never heard one bike thanks to the whoosh of the river running at the top of its banks. Loved every minute!
The property is pristine. Everything was super clean and comfy. The view can’t be beaten! Plenty of towels. The sound of the River rushing out back is heavenly.
Don’t hesitate. Book this one!
The Red River right off your deck is the highlight of this cabin ! All the kids had fun playing in the water didn’t catch any fish in it tho that was disappointing! Had a nice campfire in the fire pit one evening! Cooked a couple of breakfasts but they need new skillets and the toaster doesn’t work right also had to buy mouse traps saw 2 mice while we were there in the kitchen ! Needs a good deep cleaning ,but surface was good ! But yes we would go back and stay again !
Overall and Privacy: Property was nice overall. We enjoyed the river in front of the cabin. Neighbors up and down river walked up and down the river in front of the property, so there is not much privacy with many people outside. This cabin is in a little subdivision, so there are plenty of houses nearby and lots of private property. You'll need to be wary of the all the all terrain vehicles if you seek walking or hiking. The driveway to the cabin is very steep and weathered.
Cleaning: The cabin was picked-up and nicely decorated, but there were a lot of rules for cleaning that we had to do on checkout. We thought the house could use a deep clean with the carpets, doors, and comforters. Finding someone else's hair in your fingers as you snuggle to bed is a little gross in this COVID times.
Beds and comfort: The beds were comfortable. The blankets could use washing. There were exterior lights that turned on an off on their own all night long, disturbing sleep. Bring a night mask to block out the bright light because the light cannot be turned off. The heating/cooling system worked well. The high-speed internet made finding information about the area easy.
Rules: There was no published information regarding local COVID rules, (i.e, masks and self-quarantine if out-of-state), fishing. There were a lot of rules for how to clean the cabin after leaving. There is no recycling in Red River.
Point of Contact: Our point of contact was excellent. She answered all questions very quickly and checked-in to make sure we were doing all right. She helped make the trip better.
We will not stay at this property again. It was too much money for what we got.
We loved the location right next to the river. I basically enjoyed our stay! But we did have a couple of major problems. 1) we had a problem with a rodent getting into our food in the pantry, so we had to start all of our food in the microwave, stove or out in the car.2) lost electricity to the laundry, hallway and kitchen, so we had to waste a lot of food, since the refrigerator didn’t work.3) with the loss of electricity, we also lost water pressure and hot water. So we had to bring water from the river to flush toilets. The management helped us by getting us a room in town to shower and also ice and water for the last day or so. We enjoyed our stay, but it would have been better if we didn’t have those obstacles to overcome!
Our family has been vacationing in RR for over 30 years. We have always stayed in the beautiful Valley of the Pines. area This was our first stay in Little Elk Horn. LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION! It is a lovely setting right on the river. Although this cabin sleeps 10 comfortably, the 2 bathrooms are very small and must be shared. That didn't deter us, but needs to be mentioned if you have 10 adults. We enjoyed lots of 4 wheel adventures, championship games of CornHole, drinking wine and fishing on the back deck and even had a BEAR visit our hummingbird feeder several times. It was a fabulous get away from the craziness of the world. We have already booked BIG ELK HORN (which is right next door) for our 2021 family get away! WE LOVE RED RIVER!!
We enjoyed our stay and would love to return to this house! The campfire and provided firewood right next to the river was breathtaking!! We even caught several fish right at the back!
Nice place along the river. Quick 10 min drive into town and just a few min drive from trail heads. Easy check-in/check-out and the property manager, Devin, was responsive. We would stay here again!
The cabin was wonderful. The management staff was very accommodating. It was very snowy and icy, tire chains were needed to get up the steep hill. It is in a subdivision but no one else was home so it was very quiet. The snow was beautiful as was the little rushing river behind the cabin. It was said that it snows more in this area than some others.

Beautiful setting
Loved the property. Somewhat vintage but fit us perfectly. Was overwhelmed with property mgmt communication which was annoying but doesn't detract from the property stay at all.
