Sweeping views of Morro Bay and the Rock from the deck and brand new hot tub. Steps to the spectacular estuary preserve. This spacious 2 bedroom home is surrounded by the estuary and 24 acre Sweet Springs Preserve. Walk around the Bay to Baywood for a spectacular sunrise or sunset. 4 miles from Montana De Oro with sweeping vistas, horseback riders, hang gliders and surfers play on its miles of beaches and trails. There is so much to do for those who appreciate the unexploited California Coastal experience. Travel by Kayak across the Bay to the Dunes. The home has been recently redecorated and updated, but not remodeled. The cabinets are oak and the counter tops are tiled. If you are looking for high end modern, this would not be the place. The home is unapologetically circa 1986.

There is a $150.00 cleaning fee and a 10.00 per day extra guest fee after 2 guests.

Los Osos is on the Central Coast of California - halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles. Hearst Castle, Morro Bay Harbor, Avila Hot Springs, Wine Tasting, Golfing and Shopping are minutes away. This house is ten minutes from San Luis Obispo Airport. Family-owned and operated.

As you drift off to sleep, often you might hear a dull roar. You would think it was the sound of the freeway--but it is the sound of the surf. We encourage you to soak in the natural beauty and wonder of this very special hideaway. This special place is not a tourist destination. It is a well kept local hideaway that is not changing rapidly due to so many endangered species and environmentally sensitive restrictions on growth. We invite you to come and stay with us, understanding that this is a very quaint local community that treasures its residential way of life. We hope you can enjoy this rare and unique treasure on the California coast. It is not for everyone. Close your eyes and imagine what it was like to live in California circa 1962. Open your eyes and look out on this period in time and remember what it was like before everything became somewhat homogeneous and sterile. Enjoy it while you can.

We provide hand made cold pressed soap from quality, natural, top quality ingredients to add a spa like retreat for your stay. We use bromide in the hot tub. We strive to reduce single use plastic with almost completely zero waste products throughout the home. We strive to earn your 5 star review.

Well behaved, totally house broken dogs are welcome with a $125.00 pet fee (No Cats)Your dogs will love the fenced yard and the walks on leash. Dogs cannot be left alone in the house or yard. Damage fee can be waived on request if you don't bring your dog.

This is our 4th time there. Mostly we sit on the deck and watch the world go by with a cup of coffee or glass of wine, depending on the time of day. Walk out the front door and turn left. You are at the beginning of a beautiful little hike. Forget your troubles...unwind.

Great place. Really enjoyed our stay. The only negative thing was the stairs as I'm disabled and use a cane but I did manage ok and have no regrets in staying here. I'd definitely stay here again 🙂

Comfortable Baywood home with view of Morro Rock

Perfect place for visiting with friends while being in peaceful Baywood setting near nature hikes and Back Bay. Close to SLO wineries, Moro Bay and other attractions. Nice kitchen which is fully equipped. Hope to stay there again.

Our stay was ideal! Being on the edge of the Sweet Springs Nature Preserve allowed us to soak in the spectacular views and feel away from it all. The house was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. Thank you Kye! We look forward to returning.

We love Baywood and have stayed there many times. We love the pace of life, the people, the access to so many beautiful natural areas and the friendly and yummy local restaurants. Staying here allowed us to add to that list the fresh local fish, produce, and products we cooked in the very well-stocked kitchen and enjoyed on the deck with birds,wildlife and prime views of Morro Rock. I'll also add that the hot tub and views from that we're icing on the cake. Everything about our stay was comfortable, relaxing and perfect. We hope to return!

So Relaxing!

The house was exactly as advertised and just what we were looking for. Communication was quick and easy with the property manager. we loved the hot tub in the backyard, Watching the birds, a family of quail visited each morning. The proximity to sweet Springs was fabulous and we walked down each morning to see the birds. The house is well supplied with everything you need to cook, and there are plenty of supplies for whatever you need. The beds in both rooms are comfy and we slept well. We will definitely be back and my husband has already asked when it’s available.

Perfect vacation close to natural setting

2 people, 5 nights, Arrrival 05 May to Departure 10 May 2023. Good beds, quiet sleeping, instant heating, large sunny patio for breakfast and view of birds, tides, and dunes of the bay. Ready-to-use 104 Fahrenheit jacuzzi, large TV with Netflix and more. Well-equipped modern kitchen. New washer and dryer. Helpful little notes for best use of home items and for easy and adequate behavior. Nice contact with housekeeping. Everything was perfect and convenient. We would like to come back to enjoy this very well-maintained house and the natural surroundings.

Beautiful location near family

We had a wonderful stay despite cooler than expected temperatures. The beds are very comfortable as is the sofa and the house is cozy. Our host was on top of everything and quick to communicate back with me. She worked hard to resolve a problem with the dishwasher. The view from the deck and the hot tub is really special and we loved walking down to the nearby Boardwalk and spending a lot of time at Montana De Oro - one of our favorite spots.

We had days of fog but it wasn't cold. So many beautiful hikes and so close to the house. The home had everything we needed. This was our 3rd stay here and will likely return. The host is an angel and will always keep in touch if needed.

Hello, my name is Kye Iris, and I left the California Coast for the Pacific Northwest in 1991. This special place was managed by my mother until she retired in 2014. She was the first to operate a vacation rental in Los Osos. She was told that no one would want to come to the sleepy back bay, but for those of us who cherish sleepy coastal towns that remain authentic--this place is a true oasis from the highways and tourist attractions. We have held onto this special place for over 30 years, and share it with others who share our love of wild places and a slower pace of life. I count the days until we can retire in this wonderful place, so enjoy it while you can. I manage the property with help from a team of local professionals who deep clean and maintain the property for your enjoyment and relazation.

If you come in the winter you will enjoy the company of migrating birds that rest here within the edges of the Pacific Flyway. You can soak in the hot tub and watch egrets and great blue heron feeding on the bay with Morro Rock in the background. You don't need to leave the house to see deer that live in the preserve, raccoons that cross into Sweet Springs preserve every night, and birds that circle overhead. If the natural world is what you are seeking, you've found the right place. If you appreciate a night sky without street lights or freeway noise, this is a place for you. Take a deep breath.
