The perfect property to gather with family and friends. Very comfortable for 8 people with all the comforts of home. A beautiful wraparound deck with a tremendous view of the mountains and positioned perfectly to watch the setting sun. Lots of privacy from a secluded location and quiet sleeping arrangements for all your guests with bedrooms located on 3 different levels of the home .
This house is in a beautiful location with gorgeous views from every window! The host was very responsive to the couple of questions we had. The house was very clean and had every amenity we could have asked for. Bedding was soft/comfy and there were plenty of towels, etc. We spent an afternoon in Rhinebeck, which was less than 30 minutes away; highly recommend checking out the beautiful Beekman Arms Inn. I would definitely stay at this wonderful mountain top destination again and recommend this host!

Thanks so much for the very kind note, and for leaving the house so tidy. Glad you enjoyed the house for your gathering. Hope to see you again soon.
We had everything we needed to house 3 couples and 2 kids, very well equipped kitchen to cook big family meals! Fireplace came in handy since we got some unexpected snow! Host was very responsive, immediately answering any questions.
Clean, spacious, and well-stocked cabin - perfect for families or groups. The open common area is beautiful, the heating worked great, and the hosts were very responsive. Everything was smooth from start to finish. Highly recommend for a cozy and relaxing retreat!
We had a wonderful outing, though we're not able to use all the amenities, we were happy with our stay.

So glad you enjoyed your stay. I'm not sure which amenities you were not able to use - at the house itself or the surrounding area?- since I did not hear of any issues during your stay but I am always available to my guests for any questions that come up!
Beautiful spot. Perfect for a multigenerational stay. A relaxing, well equipped house for our 14 day getaway. Limited grounds at the house, but centrally located to many activities and restaurants. We appreciated how quickly Amelia responded to all communication and ensured a fantastic experience.

Thanks for your very kind review. Glad you were able to enjoy the house - the layout does indeed allow for different families (or generations, in your case) to come together but still have privacy and separation with the bedrooms and en suite bathrooms spread out over the 3 floors.
The house was perfect for our family of 7. Extremely clean and accommodating for all of us. We enjoyed family time and visiting the local towns of Hudson and Rhinebeck. Amelia set up the house perfectly and was great at communicating. I highly recommend staying here. Would love to come back. Thank you Amelia!
We very much enjoyed our stay here! The house was spacious and full of natural light, quiet and well kept. The owner was available and bent over backwards to help us when we reached out. I definitely recommend visiting this property!
We had a great stay at Amelia's house. There was plenty of space for 3 adult couples, 3 kids, and one dog. The house was clean and well equipped. I would recommend it to anyone!
Our stay here was great - everything pre-arrival and upon arrival was easy to coordinate. We had no issues and found the home to be well-equipped with kitchen appliances, etc. and anything else we needed. Thank you!
We fully enjoyed our stay at Amelia's wonderful house! The view is incredible, and the house is very cozy and big enough for a group of 9 people: nice decoration and furniture, comfortable beds, and a fully stocked kitchen. Supreme cleanliness and attention to detail, highly recommend!

Glad you had a great stay and enjoyed those lovely mountain views. It’s a great weekend escape. Thanks for taking the time to write a review! Come back soon.
A group of 6 of us have been meeting centrally in the Hudson Valley to enjoy a long weekend together for a decade and Amelia's place is perfect for us! The rooms feel cozy without being claustrophobic, there's plenty of space for hanging out, and the kitchen is stocked with all the pots and pans you need to prep up a feast after a day of raucous laughter.
Beautiful home with a fabulous wrap around upper deck. Every sunset was gorgeous!. A very tidy house with everything you could need. We had a lovely time.
This home was perfect for us. Our family attended a 3 day wedding in Germantown. We had 3 groups and each had their own bedroom and bathroom. A perfect layout for our situation.
Thank you to Amelia for the use of her beautiful home.
Everything about this place was nice for a nice winter stay! House was clean and had everything you would need! Games, ping pong table and great collection of CDs. Great Location to different activities, skiing was 30mins away, quaint towns were 10 mins away. The owner was also very easy to communicate to answer any questions we had.
An absolutely amazing stay. Stunning views from the great room, the ever-changing landscape and skies. Home itself is very comfortable with luxurious touches including cozy gas fireplace and soaking tub. Kitchen had everything you'd need to make meals and even bake a gingerbread house. A lovely welcome touch from the host (a bottle of excellent red wine) was much appreciated, thank you Amelia! We did not want to leave and hope to come back!

Thanks so much for your feedback. So glad you enjoyed your holiday getaway at the house!
We put our friends up for the weekend - 3 couples plus 4 adult children and one dog. Everyone had lots of private space, comfy beds, all kitchen needs, and magnificent views. The downstairs media room worked perfectly as bedroom #5. Amelia was responsive and helpful. Grateful to have such a lovely place nearby.
Great family home with beautiful sunsets over the mountains. Limited yard for children to play.
Easy check-in and communication with owner was prompt. House could have been cleaner for my liking and disappointed gas grill was not fully functional. Location is close to Lake Taghkanic State Park which we enjoyed on a couple of occasions. Fire pit was an evening ritual along with s'mores!

Beautiful
My daughter was getting married not far from this location and we couldn’t have been happier with our stay. Amelia is amazing. She was in contact with us and so helpful. She went out of her way to find a location for a brunch the next day which was wonderful. I recommend this house for anyone who’s looking for something homey and comfortable.

I live in NYC and love to escape upstate to the Hudson Valley. It is a beautiful area, and the perfect distance to make weekend getaways from the city.
Why they chose this property
The Hudson Valley is simply spectacular. Close to NYC, but scenic and rural, the towns in the area all have their own unique charm, which allows an escape from the large, chains stores now ubiquitous in NYC. It is one of my favorite areas to explore and relax. There is always a new experience awaiting.
What makes this property unique
The house is located about 5 minutes from Lake Taghkanic state park, which has 2 beaches (one with a concession stand) and great hiking trails, one of which circles the lake for about six miles. Boating and kayaking can also be done on the lake.
15 minutes from the house is the city of Hudson, which has dozens of antique shops, bookstores, art galleries, cafes & restaurants, and a couple of movie theatres. Warren street is the highlight.
Also about 15 minutes away is Frederic Church's estate, Olana, which has beautiful views of the Hudson and the Catskills, gardens, and a museum of his home.
Also about 15 minutes away in Ghent, NY, is the Fields Sculpture Park at the OMI International Arts Center with internationally recognized contemporary sculpture thoughtfully curated over 100 acres of farmland.
About 20-25 minutes away are Red Hook and Tivoli, which both have local shops and restaurants, and are close to Bard College, where the Fisher Performing Arts Center is located. 25 minutes away is Rhinebeck (5 minutes past Red Hook on Route 9), which has excellent restaurants, shops, a farmer's market on Saturdays, as well as local artists, and an art house movie theatre.
Directly across the river are Catskill, and the Catskill mountains with incredible hiking trails, and Woodstock.
If you like classical music, Tanglewood, the summer venue for the Boston Symphony Orchestra is about 40 miles away. It is a favorite for the cheap lawn tickets to outdoor concerts on summer nights. Well worth the drive.
