Things to Know The building provides complimentary WiFi as a courtesy, but it is not guaranteed. This retreat features a den/sunroom that can be used as another bedroom/private sleeping area for your convenience. The indoor pool and large outdoor pool will not accommodate children in diapers. There is an outdoor kiddie pool provided for children in diapers. Per building management, cannabis is prohibited everywhere on the Golden Sands grounds. Ocean City has adopted a noise control ordinance that makes it unlawful to cause or permit noise levels which exceed those established by the Department of the Environment of the State of Maryland (COMAR 26.02.03.02) or are in violation of Chapter 30, Article V of the Town Code. It shall be a violation of this agreement and grounds for eviction under Maryland law if these noise levels are exceeded as a result of activity on this property. Ocean City has other noise ordinances, which are criminal offenses if violated.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). We really enjoyed our stay in OC! The place was spotless and very well maintained. I’d like to update the earlier reviews mentioning a stained carpet — it is now perfectly clean. The highlight for us was the breathtaking ocean view, both from the balcony and the master bedroom. After long days at the beach, we loved relaxing in the indoor pool. Overall, a wonderful stay — we would definitely come back!
We really love this place. Yes, the decor is outdated and there are some things that need fixing up (a new carpet is needed for sure), but it has that early 90's Ocean City charm, and that beautiful view to wake up and fall asleep to. The master bedroom is all windows. It was just charming and perfect for us!

The place was pretty sweet, easy check in, nice location, direct access to the beach, and bar on site. The girls had their own room and bathroom, and enjoyed the pool and beach. Close enough to drive to local restaurants and shops. Loved having on site parking and everyone was really cool!

Few slight inconveniences but overall good stay
The location is great, we loved being right on the beach and enjoyed using both pools! We had a great time dancing to music the DJ played on Wednesday. Slight inconveniences were an extremely tight parking spot, no wi-fi, and a loud HVAC that woke our kids up.

We stay at golden sands every summer and love it. This was our first stay at this condo and it was cute. Nothing over the top but just what we needed with young kids. Normal wear and tear like any rental property but otherwise everything was awesome.
The view was incredible and the house was beautiful, our only problem was the three TVs , we couldn’t get any to work, since I was only there for two nights and planned on being at the beach all day I didn’t call anybody. But the internet and TVs need completely fixed.

NO CABLE OR WI-FI FOR ENTIRE STAY
After many attempts to get VACASA to fix the issue, no luck. Our entire stay was without cable or internet. I was hoping to work from the balcony in front of the beach for a few hours each morning, but instead had to go to the library or Starbucks. VACASA said they would request compensation for lack of amenities, but nothing was approved.

Needs work
We had a nice vacation as a whole and this room had amazing views with a good location. However, this room can use some major repair/renovation. Everywhere you looked there was something broken-from holes in the wall where tvs were mounted once to a closet full of broken items( lamps, stools, etc making it almost unusable -to the towel and toilet paper holders ripped out of the wall. We did fix one while we were there. The carpets were heavily stained and the furniture was visibly worn. The air vent was coming off of the wall and there was a broken piece of glass on the wall. I think you get the picture-not worth the money spent quality wise. It was a cute layout so repairs would make it improved for sure.

All I did was wait for people to fix things
On vacation with my elderly mom. Who enjoys playing games and watching movies with her daughters and grandchild. None of the tvs worked. No internet even to get my Netflix. They kept saying they would fix them. Had a repair guy come in 2 days and got 1 to work. Shower door does not shut all the way. And on the then a repair guy came to fix the fridge which was a complaint from the previous tenant. 3 out of 4 days vacation interrupted with things the owner should deal with. Minimal compensation was given and this was my moms last trip to the beach cuz she can’t walk. Not pleasant at all .

Well I should have read other reviews first. Carpet was very stained. (If I had younger kids I wouldn't have let them crawl on it. ) The mirror door to laundry is cracked and someone was supposed to come to at least tape it so it wouldn't fall apart but no one ever showed up. The mini blind in the second room wouldn't work, was falling off the wall and couldn't open or raise it. Dishwasher was super loud, couldn't have a conversation when it was on. Fridge made an awful noise and shakes when the compressor shut off. Tub was slippery, I was worried my 72 year old mom was going to fall. Broken lamp took up the whole closet in main bedroom.
If you are looking for a cheap place Ocean front this is it. If you want a clean and nice place, don't stay here.

Million dollar views, which we loved, but the place was not what we expected.
I called ahead of time to confirm that there was free internet, as there had been several reviews saying it was a problem. I was assured that if it was listed on the site, there was definitely Internet. However when we arrived there was a notice on the refrigerator with the Internet portion scratched out, stating we could use free internet in the building. That does not exist in this apartment (I assume the signal doesn't reach the unit). There was also a note suggesting that we subscribe to Xfinity for an additional charge. This is not what the listing said. THERE IS NO FREE INTERNET IN THIS UNIT. Additionally the carpet is in terrible shape and in need of updating (lots of stains, seemed unsanitary) There was a hole in the wall above the bedroom television (which we could not figure out how to work). The living room couch had a large tear and the foam was coming out of it. There was a broken kitchen chair in the bedroom, holes in the sheer living room curtains, light above the kitchen counter didn't work, the toilet paper holder in one bathroom was disassembled and thrown in the cupboard (my husband repaired it), the icemaker didn't work, the refrigerator temperature control was broken so you couldn't tell what the temperature was, the mirror on the washer/dryer closet was cracked with a glass shard sticking out and ready to fall off. Would not have a child here - unsafe. Location is great. View great. Apartment itself leaves a lot to be desired.

Tenement on the Beach: Great view outside Slum inside
It took from 630 pm Wednesday until 11 am Thursday and several phone calls to address the absolute filth in the room at Golden Sands. The carpet was filthy with big black and yellow stains and buckling everywhere The furniture was so filthy we had to cover it completely with sheets. The second bedroom should have had two twin beds It had a trundle bed that could not be lifted and no space for walking from the bed to the bathroom Hot water took 45 minutes to acquire The mirror on the bifold door was broken in 2 places and haphazardly glued together None of the electrical sockets were worn and unable to hold any plugs in place. There was lose wiring in the main area behind the tv and a big hole in the master bedroom in the wall behind the tv with wires hanging out. All walls had hand marks and other dirt, the kitchen ceiling had cracked panewThe pricey nature of this property was not congruent with its contents. The complete hassle required to change rooms was epic. When we inquired how this unit could possibly be rented without any quality control we were told VaCasa only does what the owners ask. That’s really unfortunate. It was the most disgusting place we have ever stayed. The room change to another room better but we would not have paid the rate charged for a partial ocean view. In addition the new room right next to the trash which was very pungent each time we came and went. VaCasa had no response to my voicemail regarding our disappointment with this property overall

Location and view was lovely.
The apartment was not well maintained, broken furniture, ripped sofa etc.
The second bedroom was so tiny that if we had pulled out the trundle bed, we couldn’t have walked in the room! Plus it was not private, has glass french doors and is right by the entryway!
Not ideal for there adult women.
I just did not like dealing with a company (Vacasa) rather than an owner, and will not make that mistake again!

Little things not done or poorly done. TV in living room is in the kitchen. There is know way you can comfortably watch it. That TV was not working. Called VACASA they said someone would call before coming. No one called, no one came. Second bed room awful. No closet to hang clothes. Bed was like sleeping in a hammock. There was no table or chair in this bedroom, so your daily clothes had to be hung on the door. There was no place to hang towels in that bathroom (towel holder was broken). Kitchen was OK except silverware was sparse. There was no table in the kitchen or living area. Sitting at the counter was our only choice. NO, we will not rent this unit again!

Great relaxing stay!
This place was just what me and the hubs needed for a break from reality. Everything we needed was there. I like how you are given a bag of towels and wash cloths when you walk. And another bag with paper towels, dish soap, bath soap, etc. There are a few minor repairs that need done to this place. Example: the towel rod is missing from one bathroom, the door knob plate is loose on front door, and a vent pulling away from the wall. But I don't let these minor things affect my vacay. I believe this place is listed as sleeping 6. I think 5 at best and that would be a bit crowded for my taste. I would definitely stay here again. This is within walking distance of restaurants (.3 miles or so) and some shops. Dairy Queen is nearby, as well as, a mall with a great little Italian place called Sophia's. My favorite part, was the view from the king bed! How beautiful to wake up and see the ocean. You can also still here the waves crashing with all the windows and doors shut. It was exactly what I was looking for! And, I really couldn't hear any neighbors. Thank you for a great and peaceful stay!
Definitely outdated. Beds were very uncomfortable and second twin bed in kids room pulled out from under a futon bed. Had some broken things that were more annoying then essential items. Amenities at this place are very nice and access to the ocean is excellent. Not worth the overall cost and would not pay the weekly rental for this place again.

Golden Sands is beautiful!
The room was very clean. Bedroom had windows looking out to the ocean. Unit space was very well utilized. Perfect location and good amenities!
