Such a nice place to stay. The drive way was as described steep and you need a high profile vehicle to park there. But there was room to park two cars in other spots right on property. Beautiful picture windows in the living room that make you feel as if you’re in a tree house. It lent to the quick changing elements right before our eyes. Very cozy wood burning stove that kept us warm. Great place to stay and enjoy family time, girl time or just time away from the norm.
We've stayed here four years in a row now. This place fits all 7 of us comfortably. It's clean, comfortable, feels spacious, and has everything we need.
The treehouse was a perfect getaway for me and my family. It fit us perfectly. There are 6 of us and our dog. The place is clean and comfortable. The owner is quick to respond with any questions. We would definitely recommend this place.
The house is gorgeous, very spacious, with a killer view. All 9 of us were very comfortable, and had so much fun! The hot tub and backyard swing were a welcome bonus. We cooked all of our meals, and used all of the amenities the house had to offer. I recommend this property 100%!
But we were there during a huge fire and were forced to evacuate. Then I had to pay triple rate on hotel because we had our dog. Then we didn’t get a refund on our last day despite being Unable to stay there. Owners seemed nice. There is only AC in one room so it was quite hot and smokey. My trip ended up costing double and honestly I think it could have been handled better. To be fair the owners were worried about their house with the forest fire. I won’t be back to Running Springs anytime soon.
Each year my cousin and I get our families together to enjoy just good family fun. This house is great for families, plenty of space, very comfortable beds, beautiful surroundings and the jacuzzi was a big hit. We loved sitting on the patio watching the sunset every night looking through all of the trees - it was magical. We would rent this home again for sure. The host Sandra is very responsive and provided us with a lot of information prior to our arrival and the check in was very easy. I would recommend this home to all.
It was awful!! By far the worst experience I’ve ever had with VRBO. There has never been a more deceptive listing. No central AC in California in the middle of July in 2024!!! There was small window ac for one room and a box fan to cool the rest. When called to cancel upon arrival, owner wouldn’t even give me half a refund so we could find a hotel somewhere else. Open the windows, they said. Half didn’t open at all. We came for a family reunion in Redlands…17 min…plus steep grades, winding narrow roads and a 15 passenger van…equals total disaster on our transmission and brand new tires.
They had wool blankets on every bed, wool pillows and stocked firewood for their Swiss wood burning fireplace…it was 115 degrees in the mountains when we arrived and 125 in the house. No breeze from the mountain because the wind doesn’t blow from that direction. It blows over the house. I spent $250 on vans so my kids could sleep at night. One of my kids is still sick from the 5000 ft elevation we had to travel up and down everyday on top of the almost unrelenting heat in the house. At one point he was too sick to leave the house because the idea of driving on the winding roads was more nauseating than staying in the baking oven they call a rental.
It may be the perfect property for winter, except their 70% incline driveway wasn’t useable, the street is barely wide enough to park on and good luck if it snows, you’d never get out.
Save yourselves…there are better options anywhere!
The treehouse was great, beautiful views, comfy interior. Overall a great experience from the warm welcome of the host and the large home!
Will definitely be back!
Went with 3 friends to have a relaxing girls weekend and it was lovely. The kitchen had everything we needed to make meals and even had some spices that we ended up needed. The hot tube great for the 4 of us to enjoy some wine under the stars and the top balcony was dark enough to see the meteor shower.
For the adults: Pros-The kitchen was pretty stocked with pots and pans for cooking, plenty of plates and silverware, there were some spices left/cooking oil left, the beds are super comfy and there was wine in the fridge! (We didn’t drink it but it was a really nice touch.) Also, each bathroom had toiletries which was convenient!
Cons-only 6 towels but there were 7 people (when I contacted the host about it she just told me I could use the washing machine-not really what I want to do on my vacation). The driveway is SUPER steep. Both families have Subaru Ascents and didn’t feel like the driveway could accommodate even one of our cars. The only way we fit on the street level was to block the neighbor’s driveway a little bit. (We were told this was okay at the time).
For the kids: boards games, sledding hill (although the snow was pretty packed when we were there so it was a dangerous endeavor), kid friendly plates, great TVs. And a big bowl of chocolate! No cons!
We had a great time. Thank you so much for the delicious chocolates, wine, and champagne! The communal spaces were large and comfortable. The home was very clean. The bathrooms were clean. We brought sleds to enjoy in the backyard. The hot tub was awesome after a long day of snowboarding. The one difficult part for us was getting to the front door down the steep driveway covered in icy snow without slipping and falling :-)
This house is exactly as advertised, with a wood burning old fireplace (though wood was wet and we couldn't use it - bring a duraflame log!), a cozy couch, large kitchen, and comfortable beds. The large windows in the family room would have given a beautiful view if we had had decent weather, but we appreciated them nevertheless! Hot tub was already set to 98º when we arrived, which was particularly nice, considering the weather was frigid and we didn't want to have to wait for it warm up before using.
Kitchen didn't have a ton of extras like some places do (no plastic cups for kids, small bowls, oils, seasonings, cling wrap, etc.) so bring anything you absolutely must have! Was a nice large space though, and fridge had a working ice maker & water dispenser, which we enjoyed.
Whole house smelled like pot when we arrived which was a big turnoff, but I don't fault the owner for that - it did seem to clear out within the first few hours of our stay.
Overall, would definitely stay here again!
House was just as listed, very beautiful home. We enjoyed our 6 day stay. Sandra and Beau were very efficient in answering any questions. Would definitely stay here again.
We rented the Bohemian Treehouse for a Lake Arrowhead wedding we were attending and couldn't have been more pleased. Everything was exactly as described and we appreciated all the extra little touches the owners provided -- like champagne and chocolates, plus lots of choices for coffee. We also appreciated the cozy fleece robes and extra towels, which increased our enjoyment of the well-maintained spa. Good WiFi , good TVs, nice beds, and lots of room. Sondra was super responsive and we greatly appreciated how easy she made everything regarding our stay. Thank you so much!
The property was very clean and as described. The jacuzzi was also clean and we enjoyed using it. The location is in between Lake Arrowhead and Big Bear so we got to visit both areas on this trip. Coming down the mountain was very convenient. While the food choices are limited in Running Springs, we didn’t mind the drive to either Lake Arrowhead or Big Bear. We loved the food and coffee at Lulubelles Coffee House that is nearby. They have homemade bagels and great coffee!!! Will be back!
Beau was great, very responsive. The property was just as advertised and maybe even a bit better. The living room had such a stunning view of the sunset that picturesque and serene is an understatement. Overall highly recommend and if possible would definitely love to stay there again.
Great home with beautiful decor! Thoughtful touches, such as robes and bear clawed wood floors. Great backyard and wonderful neighbors. If I was to own a place in Running Springs I would want it to be a home just like Beau's!!!
