Enjoy your Tahoe vacation in this large family home in a desired location of Tahoe City. This home has a large backyard and backs up to the Tahoe City golf course. Walking distance to downtown Tahoe City and Commons beach, and only minutes to major ski resorts. In the winter the course turns into a community winter park with Nordic skiing, snowshoeing and sledding right out the back door. In the summer, walk to Tahoe City, bike the trails along the lake or to Palisades Tahoe, or have a BBQ in the lovely backyard.

This large single story home is perfect for the entire family's enjoyment. Sit back and relax and relish in the famous local family memorabilia. The main living room has a nice gas log fireplace and plenty of seating for movie night. There is seating for 12 for dining, and a fully stocked retro kitchen that you will fall in love with, and with, two supermarkets available within 1 mile; you can stock up on your way in for you may never want to leave!

Ten people (two families or a group of friends) will have lots of space to sleep here, with 5 bedrooms, and 4 bathrooms, everyone will enjoy their own space.

Location:
While the kids (and a few grown-up kids) have a snow day on the property's yard, perhaps others will want to venture out to the local ski spots like Alpine Meadows/Palisades Tahoe (Minutes away). On a summer day, you will be only a few minutes from beautiful lake beaches.

Parking:
Parking is available for 4 cars total. All cars must park on the driveway. No street parking per county ordinance.
Prepare for mountain or winter weather driving in winter months. This may mean Four wheel drive with snow tires or chains. Check weather or road reports. AWD and 4WD necessary to get up the mountain roads and some driveways in the winter months.

Other things to Note:
* Renters must be 25+
* This is a non-smoking home.
* Pets are not allowed at this home.
* Maximum Occupancy per county ordinance is 10 adults.
* Use of the BBQ is not guaranteed in winter months, due to limited access.
* Use of outdoor furniture is not guranteed in the winter.
* Like most homes/condos in Tahoe, this one does not have Air Conditioning. There will be fans available for your use!
* Your safety matters. This property may features exterior security cameras. The cameras are outward facing and do not look into interior spaces. The cameras will continuously record video and sound while guests are in residence.

Perfect Tahoe getaway

Plenty of space for 3 families with kids. We had a private sledding hill and snowshoeing right outside the back door. Easy walk into downdown Tahoe City for food, shopping and taking a walk by the lake. Definately coming back!

We had a big group(10 people), so didn't have much choice. We are glad that we found this lake view house with 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. It's easy to access and very close to either Northstar or Squaw Valley. We enjoyed staying here for a weekend ski trip!

Great!

Location, location, location. The house is close to everything. And the views were just amazing. The backyard connecting to the golf course turned into a huge playground for my kids. It was a great escape from the smoke and we loved our stay.

Excellent getaway

This house is amazing. Lots of space with a homey feel. It has all the amenities so it feels like home. It's located in a great spot. Close to skiing, Truckee, Kings Beach and shopping. I would recommend it to families who want to spend time together. Plenty of room.

Amazing vacation home!

The house is truly amazing. Went with a group of friends for a long weekend and could not have had a better time. The house has so much history it was fun to be a small part of that. The house was big enough for us all to have our own space and came with all the amenities one would need for a vacation. Perfect location for skiing and walking into town for dinner and shopping. Walking distance to the lake made this house the perfect spot for our getaway. Thank you for opening your amazing home to guests like me. Cannot wait to book my next trip back.

This property was big enough to fit our big group. It has everything you need. I believe I was the first traveler in VRBO so I would suggest to put basics like oil, shampoo and soap. Other than that, what a fantastic place, we kept of playing all the games we found at the house. Thanks for your hospitality!

Funky, cool, spacious house with sneaky great view of the lake.

Perfect place for our family of four. We had two different families join us at different times of the week. Kids were happy to have friends close by, and grown ups were happy to have plenty of space. Loved walking to Pete and Peters (bar) and other establishments in Tahoe City. Super easy to get to Squaw and Alpine. We like the charm of the place and some of the family/ history that the owners have displayed on the walls. Look forward to returning next year.

Perfect for large families.....kid friendly!

We chose this rental for a Christmas get-away for our extended family, ages 2 months to 64. The home is comfortable and roomy – enough space for personal privacy, and also for family togetherness during meals and playtime. The spacious backyard was perfect for our grandkids to play in the snow while we watched them through the picture window while enjoying the warmth of the home. Very close to amenities – we walked to town and also the school playground, and the kids enjoyed an afternoon at the ice skating rink. You know a trip has been a success when your adult kids all say “Let’s come back again!” We will definitely return to Igloo Alley!

Great Tahoe Vacation Home

View of the lake too! Plenty of bathrooms and storage spaces. Kitchen has all of your needs for a large family gathering. Spacious bedrooms and plenty of deck/yard space. Beds, linens and towels were first rate. Only issues were minor plumbing problems between the kitchen and laundry room utility sinks. TV reception was not great, but we really did not watch it anyway. Played cards and games every night. Tahoe Rental Management Team responded quickly and was very professional. I would rent again or highly recommend to another.

Driveway was shoveled and had no issues parking. Plenty of space, dishes, pots/pans. Having the warming room for ski equipment was a plus.The house could be more modernized tho. I had an unpleasant experience that kept me uneasy for 3 days. The first morning, I saw a mouse in the back Master Bedroom that scared/startled me. I did not want to alarm to other families and just moved all our food/bags in the kitchen to higher grounds. It might be good get an exterminator in.

Centrally located and wonderful single story, dog friendly house

What a great experience. The house is wonderfully apportioned, with a great new 5 burner gas stove. It may seem dated but it’s cute and clean. The house is large with notes where you need it and it was plowed and snow blown as quickly after a storm as possible so you are always able to get out in your car. There’s a gas fireplace, a two slot toaster (wide enough for bagels), keurig coffee maker as well as a flat bottom 12 cup Mr. Coffee, two freezers and some basic supplies. It’s all on a single story so safer for kids and grandparents. It overlooks a golf course that used to be a natural meadow which grew grasses for the animals that worked in the area over 200 years ago. This house and the family that still owns it have history in Tahoe City. it’s a beaut. It is dated but it just lends character to the house. It’s warm with a gas fireplace. There’s a DVD player, a record player, and WiFi. TLDR; perfect family getaway or just go with friends. Walking distance to both the stores at Tahoe City and the Tahoe Rim trail. I’ll be coming back! Thanks!

Amazing Winter Getaway

Walking distance to trails, lakeside restaurants and tucked away in the woods with an enormous beautiful yard surrounded by trees. I loved waking up every morning seeing the lake outside the dining room window. They have ice skating down below at the Golf Course Clubhouse for families. I loved learning the history of the home when reading the books they have and sitting by the fire. Our family loved staying here for Christmas and the kids had a blast! Will definitely be renting again!

We Will Rent This Again

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our second time renting this property, previously in the snow of winter and recently in the sunny summer. This house is a very comfortable, well equipped place that is very centrally located so that it is possible to walk to Commons Beach on the shore of the Lake, the golf course which parallel the back property line, the zip line course at Granlibakken, many restaurants in Tahoe City as well as Safeway and CVS. The house is clean and well equipped, the beds comfortable, and the patio furniture/grill in the back of the house are perfect for relaxing outside any time of the day. Our first stay was during “Snowmaggedon” in December 2021. Despite the fact that there was two-three feet of new snow daily for almost our entire stay, the house was warm, the drying room inside the house worked great, and the snow removal service came daily so despite the enormous amount of snowfall, we had no trouble getting out to the multiple local ski resorts. If you dream of a mountain chalet with high vaulted ceilings and enormous picture windows, this place is not for you. But, if you want a very functional, comfortable, convenient base for a Tahoe vacation independent of the time of year for a group of couples or a multi-generational family celebration, you should seriously consider this property.
