Urlaub 2024

Amazing location

A truly beautiful location surrounded by mountains. It was a little scary driving up the road from the coast in the dark for the first time - need to be a fairly confident driver but you get used to it! As noted in the description the layout is a little quirky but worth it for the charm of the old building. The owner was very kind to us when we forgot to leave the keys and arranged to meet us in Las Palmas - we were most grateful. Thank you!

Gran Canaria

Overall we enjoyed our stay but felt the welcome wasn't as good as it could have been. We contacted Carolina at the airport as suggested but she didn't speak any English so the car rental guys helped us with directions. We later received a link from Carolina which did prove helpful plus some google translated Spanish. Having travelled there which was demanding we were quickly given keys, shown how rhe shower worked which we forgot and she left. We were too tired by then to take in her instruction. We then found there was no welcome pack to help us settle in, even a carton of uht milk would have been helpful. I don't want these comments to impact on Carolina but feel, based on many rental experiences that the beginning of our holiday could have been better managed. We otherwise thoroughly enjoyed the hideaway in the mountains and miss it now!

Dear Clare, thank you for your 4 star rating. I am sorry that you experienced these inconveniences on arrival but I would like to inform you that on the 17th of March (12 days before your arrival) I sent you by email the access information (including map) and detailed information about the house, as we do with all our clients. So far no client has had to ask at the rent a car about the access. I am afraid you did not read this information although you confirmed that you had received it. As a welcome gift we left you a bottle of wine and a basket of fresh fruit. Our clients who land at 4pm have never claimed for milk or similar, at that time it is easy to find a supermarket, there is even one in the arrivals hall of the airport and many more along the way and even in St Lucia. We send you kindest regards from the Canaries!

Peace and quiet in the hills

You might think this property can’t be as good as the photos, but it really is. A wonderful local architecture, each room with wonderful furniture, and a glorious outdoor space with clear views down the valley. If you want to spend your time at the coast, then the drive probably argues against this property. But our goal was to chill, stay local and just enjoy some peace and quiet. Great place.

Beautiful house surrounded by lemon and orange trees

La Longuera surpassed our expectations. The house is well-equipped, very spacious and has an expansive terrace. We were very fortunate with the weather - it was sunny, warm and dry for the entire week of our stay in March. Three-quarters of us even used the pool - despite the water being ice-cold. The location is very close to various hiking trails, and the village of Santa Lucia is within a short upwards-walking distance. Our days started with the crow of a rooster (somewhere in the valley) and freshly-pressed orange juice. It was a wonderful stay, and we look forward to returning.
