About this property
Log Cabin with Mountain Views, Hot Tub & Huge Yard
Our area is open for visitors!
Welcome to Altamont Lodge! We are a spacious, rustic yet luxurious cabin located in the heart of the NC mountains. We have Mountain View's and a 5 acre rolling yard with a hot tub that sleeps up to 14 people.
We are located central to all popular mountain towns! We're just minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway, Linville Falls, the Linville Falls Winery, a general store and restaurants, also minutes from Spruce Pine and a scenic 30 miles to Beech Mountain, Blowing Rock and Boone.
This sprawling rustic, yet elegant, authentic 5 bedroom, 3-1/2 bathroom mountain Lodge features nearly 5,000 square feet of living space, 2 kitchens, a pool table, bar, firepit, hot tub and more on five acres of rolling hills providing ample space to explore and relax. With beautiful long range mountain views and no other homes within sight, you will feel private and secluded, while enjoying proximity to all the popular towns. This area offers so much in the way of entertainment - skiing, wineries, waterfalls, hiking trails, fishing, antiques shopping, gem mines, fabulous eateries, and gorgeous mountain views!
Altamont Lodge provides a unique authentic experience as it was constructed using reclaimed 100+ year old timbers from log cabins in the Blue Ridge Mountains, and consists of a large 3 bedroom, 3 bath main house with a colonnade connecting it to a two bedroom, two bath guest cabin. The guest cabin portion of the Lodge is an original 100+ year old Tennessee cabin which was disassembled, reconstructed and restored to its primitive beauty.
The Great Room has a soaring 30’ open timber ceiling, a stately wood-burning fireplace, oversized and comfy furniture, a large flatscreen TV, grand piano, card table, wet bar, pool table, and half bath. It is the perfect area to congregate with family and friends, to relax and play.
The main level has an open concept kitchen and dining area. With granite countertops, a professional Wolf gas cooktop with griddle, stainless double ovens, and a large side-by side refrigerator, you’ll find everything you need to cook the perfect meals during your stay. The kitchen bar seats four comfortably, while the dining table seats eight and just outside the covered deck you'll find additional dining space.
Upstairs, you’ll find a large master bedroom, french doors overlooking the Great Room, and an anteroom with daybed, which leads to a spacious upper porch that overlooks the captivating view of the mountains and beyond. The ensuite master bath has a large jacuzzi-style jetted tub and a glorious walk in shower with two shower heads.
The second floor also has a beautifully-appointed bedroom with queen size bed, many windows overlooking the front yard with rolling hills, and fabulous mountain view. Hall bath boasts a clawfoot tub, spacious shower, and a unique vanity made from a wooden barrel. The bunkroom holds three twin beds and one full, large windows, a spacious closet and is ideal for kids and adults alike.
The guest cabin is attached to the main lodge by a wide colonnade with reading nook. The cabin has a fully appointed kitchen, breakfast area, living area with pull out sofabed, fireplace, flat-screen TV, and quaint front porch with swing. Upstairs are two comfy bedrooms and well-appointed bath.
The Lodge boasts a vast, wide wraparound front and side porch, with comfortable seating for both relaxing as well as dining, with steps down to a firepit area that is perfect for enjoying smores on cold nights. The property sits high atop a hill and is surrounded by trees and greenery, with a 2.5 acre grassy lawn.
Vacation like you’ve never done before, in a setting that affords a comfortable, beautiful home away from home for you, your friends, and family. Altamont Lodge provides a unique, private place to unwind. While it is only a few minutes from vineyards, restaurants and local shopping, it feels as if you are miles away from anyone. Come and enjoy Altamont Lodge!

The home has central heat and two fireplaces. One fireplace is woodburning, and the other is gas. It does not have air conditioning, which most people are used to; however, the climate in Avery County tends to be cooler in the summer. Just opening windows and french doors provides a lovely breeze and tends to keep the temperature in summer just right inside.
Please be prepared for icy roads during the winter months. 4 wheel drive during colder months is advised as the driveway to the Lodge is fairly steep.
Our home has been a vacation rental for a long while, however we are renting it under new management, thus the new listing. Our new team is passionate about the property and providing the tenants with a unique personal experience where they feel at home and can relax in their own rustic and private oasis.
Hot Tub usage is included with your stay, if you wish to opt out please let us know ahead of your stay. .
