Entered house to beautiful soothing music. Very clean. Property was unbelievable and very well maintained. Deck was just perfect. Would love to go again!
Hosts were great! They did a lot of things to make our stay enjoyable. They knew it was our anniversary and left us a vase of fresh cut flowers, a card, a banner and couple of heart shaped cookies to bake. We really loved sitting around the fire pit and listening to the creek.
It was a great place to stay, we enjoyed it, host were wonderful, personal touches was a great surprise. It was our anniversary get away and they left us decorations and cookies. Very clean and nice.
Staying at the Creekhouse was a wonderful treat for us during Thanksgiving week. The home is warm and inviting and has all the amenities you need for a very pleasant stay. It was a great homebase to explore the area and visiting places such as the Penland School of Craft, the Bare Dark Sky Observatory, and the Planetarium. We were fortunate to see the entries for the National Gingerbread competition in Ashville. Yindra is an excellent hostess and the communication was great.
We can't say enough great things about our stay! The Creekhouse is simply amazing & so are the hosts. There is so much attention to the smallest detail. We will absolutely be back & will definitely stay longer. This has quite honestly been my best vacation EVER & we will regulars.
Beautiful property, and cozy house. Everything we needed for a one-night stay. We will definitely be looking at this house again for a potential stay with my my and kids.
We had a wonderful time visiting the Creekhouse for a several day stay. It was very quiet!!! Convenient to the Appalachian Trail where we spent time day hiking. Accomodations were very nice! It was just a fun several days!
Such a wonderful and relaxing place to go. The owners have tried to anticipate your every need.very relaxing and everything is very well taken care of. The out doors is so beautiful and the gardens are so pretty to look at.
Pictures do not do it justice, everything was wonderful. The back porch was amazing view of backyard & of roam mtn, birds chirping & creek babbling- just wow! Hosts are wonderful with many personal touches for our stay. Will definitely stay again!!!
We were there on vacation for NASCAR in Bristol. It was a little bit of a drive, but, it’s a very easy drive. We enjoyed the drive away from the hustle and bustle. We were welcome by a personal sign waiting on us and dog treats waiting on our furdaughter . We really wish we have had more time to enjoy the property. Our ONLY thing was the drive way entrance could be lit up, it’s a little hard to see at night.
The magic of CreekHouse brought us to North Carolina. Previously we lived at different parts of the word and spent the past decades in California but after visiting the CreekHouse we decided to leave everything behind and move to Bakersville North Carolina where we first bought another house. Few months later the CreekHouse got on the market, we couldn't resist and decided to buy it. The mountains surrounding Bakersville is the home of many artists, many of them have the similar stories; once they visited the area, decided to move here. We both studied art in Europe but life drifted us to other carriers, fortunately now we have the opportunity to continue our broken path. The beauty of the natural scenery is just indescribable; everyday is a wonder. When we are not at the CreekHouse, we are hiking, creating art, remodeling our other house, visiting galleries, taking pictures of the wonderful wildlife or practicing culinary art. We enjoy making people happy by sharing the CreekHouse with our guests.
Why they chose this property
The moment we saw this property we wanted to call it ours. The serenity of this property just magical. It is a labor of love to maintain the large lush landscaping with private creek bordering the property and a pond but it is worth every effort. Deer, wild turkeys and many different birds are frequent visitors here, magical to watch them from the large screened porch. Spending time at CreekHouse is a life changing experience as many of our CreekHouse guests called it. We like the fact it is in the center of many activities; ski area, waterfalls, hikes, ziplining, gem mining, horse riding, rafting, Asheville, Johnson City, Burnsville, Spruce Pine. All within 45 minutes of drive which is in Los Angeles traffic term: “very close”.
What makes this property unique
Everything about this place is unique, but sitting on the front porch looking straight up at the Roan Mountain while listening to birds chatter ceaselessly against the background sounds of the rushing water makes it a place like no other. As if that were not enough, the spiritual private boulder garden located just to the left of the screened porch is a total unexpected delight.
