Thank you for the great feedback! We're happy to hear you enjoyed the clean space, easy check-in and check-out process, and convenient location. It was a pleasure hosting you, and you're welcome back anytime!
We stayed in the Dallas Retro House for six weeks to be close to Baylor. We had an exceptional stay. Our host, Mike, was great and even sent a welcome gift to us. He was very responsive when we needed anything. The house was cozy and met all our needs. The kitchen had everything we needed in the way of dishes, cookware and small appliances. The location was perfect being only 5 minutes from Baylor hospital. It is in a quiet neighborhood and we felt safe the entire stay. It is close to Target/Walmart and other shopping and eating options. There are also a variety of restaurants within walking distance. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would stay there again.

Liked: Check-in, communication, location
Disliked: Cleanliness
Overall, our stay was okay, but the property didn't quite live up to the listing photos or our expectations.First issue was the management company attempted to charge a pet fee when the listing says pets were free. This was quickly resolved. Second, we got a message saying our house code was change due to “internal issues”; seeing the area, it makes you leery about security issues (we had none). The biggest issue was temperature inside house. Even with thermostat set to 72, curtains shut, and with all of the ceiling fans/additional fans running, the house stayed around 79 until late at night, which made it uncomfortable, especially during the day. You could see daylight around front door, which is probably one reason the house could not stay cool and for the numerous bugs we found during our stay. The home also appeared more worn and run down than the photos. Cleanliness could definitely be improved—the tile floors and living room rug were very dirty, and we found trash left under a nightstand and one of the beds. Additionally, the listing made it seem like there was a backyard, but it's really just a tiny rocky outdoor area without any grass. On the positive side, the location was great and very convenient to downtown. The two-car garage was also a nice feature and made parking easy.Overall, this property has potential because of its location and garage, but would benefit from better cleaning, more accurate listing photos, and improvements to the cooling system/house.
We had an amazing family visit because of this place!
My husband and I both have family in Dallas. This place was so perfect for our family visit! It checked all the boxes! There was enough room for our family members to visit, large dining table that we sat at for home cooked meals and game night, and TVs in each room so there was no arguing on what to watch! The kitchen and living area was well appointed, everything was clean, the decor was super fun, the kid-friendly bunk beds, fire pit and 2 car garage were a bonus! The sleep was some of the best sleep we've ever had due to the quiet location and memory foam beds. My MIL has severe mobility issues and we especially appreciated that the place only had one step to enter and the garage was so close to the entry. In addition, the host was so nice and super responsive to all of our inquires and questions. We even received a surprise welcome gift that was so unexpected I kept ignoring the delivery text because I thought it was a scam, lol. It was not! It was wonderful! All in all, we would definitely stay here again!
