The house was beautiful, very clean and had all the amenities needed. The beds were very comfortable. It was the perfect spot to take trips in the area and come back to relax in the evenings.
This property is well kept and has some modern amenities for an older home; great for a summer getaway. No air conditioning, but nights were mostly cool enough. Location was good; many day trips as well as local hiking and exploring. Property owner was extremely responsive.

I am so glad you enjoyed your stay at Eingang. After reading your review I have supplied another fan at the house.
Eingang location allows you to be centrally located to many amenities that the local area has to offer.
I hope that you will consider returning again .
The house is charming and beautifully decorated. As an old house it has it's quirks, but also has so many updated features including a new refrigerator, dishwasher, and TVs. The neighborhood is peaceful and friendly with hiking trails, kayaking, and great restaurants nearby. We enjoyed our stay very much.
This was a ideal spot for 4 adults and 2 young children. Nice indoor and outdoor spaces. Modern fixtures in a well-furnished old house. Convenient to Cedar Beach (perfect small family beach 10 minutes away), the Orr’s Island Library, General Store, places to eat and to buy lobsters (Glenn’s), candy and ice-cream shop... The bedrooms got hot during a string of unusually hot and sunny days; there are fans, but no AC. Gas grill hadn’t been cleaned, gas stove was not always fully functional, but remote hosts did what they could to address these matters.
Will stay at this property again. Super super clean home. Older renovated, quaint farmhouse that retains charm of yesteryear with some modern conveniences. Full bath has separate tub and nice glass and tile shower. Comfortable seating in living area, dining area, deck and fire pit area. Beds are comfortable and bedrooms spacious. Driveway is directly off of route 24 so you don’t have to deal with bumpy, narrow dirt roads. Location gives you quick access to so many Island activities.
We arrived late at night and didn’t get a good look at the property until morning. What a beautiful location, an adorable house with interesting decorations, very quaint and comfortable. It was the perfect getaway. We weren’t quite sure how to work the stove (some instructions may help) but we did get it working. The window fans were fabulous and kept the house cool. The back deck was the best spot to relax. Absolutely charming.
All the kitchen equipment had to be washed before we could use it. On the other hand, the property manager was very helpful. In general it was very warm and quite uncomfortable. No much guidance as to what was around it. We only found a great place for lunch after 5 days.

You cannot always get a five-star review from guests; I am personally disappointed when any rental I manage does not get one.
Sometimes though when a low rating mixes in with every other one being a five-star you just understand that it might not just be the rental.
It is funny how we all remember things differently, especially a rating coming in three months after a stay.
As a property and rental Manager, I keep pretty good notes and here is what I know.
I was there just about every day because I was called and asked to stop by.
I made sure that several things including the stove top burners were fixed when they stopped working. Although immediate attention and fixing of things these days is next to impossible, I pride myself in providing that type of service. I did just that. I also provided them my own personal cooking equipment to enhance a special soup that she was making that needed extra hot heating.
The guests made it clear that they were familiar with the area and had local friends who live in the area over almost daily but anytime I was there I gladly and continually answered questions they had including places to eat. If they only found a great place for lunch after five days, then that is a personal taste not reflective of the quality of the great eating places in the area.
However, I will be sure that a much more detailed guide to places to visit and dine in the area is provided for future guests.
Nothing was ever said to me about the kitchen equipment, or anything not being cleaned properly. For any future guests, please notify me immediately.
Eingang does not have air conditioning, few rentals in the area do. Dual-Action window fans are provided in all four upstairs bedrooms and there is a very large standing fan for the downstairs living room. Each window has proper screening to allow for a cross breeze in the afternoon and evening. Was it a warm summer, absolutely, but short of providing a window fan for every window I am not sure what else could be done. However, I will be sure that there is another large standing fan in the downstairs area in the future. That might provide a slightly more bit of comfort.
In closing looking at my notes, I will ask of any future guests that if you decide that you must move any pieces of furniture, especially large ones, to suit your personal needs during your stay, please return them to where they were when you arrived.
