We were in the Rocky Point area for a funeral and found the Trader House, cozy and warm with a very special charm! Modern appliances, fridge, Keurig, coffee maker, TVs and amenities a plenty, bethroom clean and well stocked; kitchen was nice and big, living room comfortable and relaxing, beds were perfect - even the Murphy bed! And our host Jeff was very nice and accommodating.
Great place near several nice accessible north shore beaches (cedar beach, west meadow beach) and great food and coffee in Port Jefferson. Place was clean and comfortable.
Adorably and quaintly decorated. Cozy and perfect inside. The outside property is shared with others and could use a little TLC but overall I would highly recommend this rental.
I searched VRBO for three bedrooms and was erroneously showed this property. I booked it without carefully reading the description. Fortunately there was a Murphy bed. Despite the mixup, my party of 3 loved staying here for a long weekend.
The apartment has plenty of space and the neighbourhood is very quiet. Jeff was a great host and accommodated us with every request we had. A very friendly and helpful host.
Has character, cute. I did hit my head on the Murphy bed, we needed trash bags and forks. Really enjoyed the outdoors fire pit, needed lots of bug spray. Comfortable AC, wish the Bathroom was bigger, kitchen was great.
What a great place to stay... Close to beaches, restaurants, sightseeing, parks and the PTJ ferry. Very spacious unit, upstairs is perfect for children. It's an extremely big property with a large yard to walk your fur babies. The host is extremely friendly, laid back and accommodating. We ended up booking an extra week just because we found extra stuff to do, that we didn't plan on.
The views from the front porch are fantastic, with an open view of the water.
You will
The walkway to the back of the house had many dog poops aside from being dangerous with tree roots, pavers not installed properly, the back yard was cluttered with yard items spray tank, seed bags, etc..To enter the residence you have to go thru a dirty and cluttered laundry room. Many of the window sills had dead bugs. The bathroom is very small with a jetted tub which does not work. Second floor tenants were noisy and had a dog that would bark constantly. There are light switches on the opposite side of the room. Recycle pails were over filled. etc., etc. In my opinion, this is not a very good place to stay to rest and relax.
Well kept and spacious house with a great host. Set in a quiet neighborhood, this darling little house (it's really too big for the term apartment to apply) was a real treat. It has everything you could want for an extended stay - large kitchen, large living room area with breakfast nook and two great bedrooms. Jeff was a great and communicative host. We'd definitely stay there again.
We loved staying in this unit. Tons of space, if you're traveling with family and pets. We had three small dogs, who loved the running around the property. Bedrooms are a big size with big open windows, which were great for reading or catching a view. A very cozy and comfortable feeling. Definitely felt like being home. Tons to do nearby. You can even catch a ferry over to CT. Everything you need within 8 minutes of this location. Loved it, will absolutely return.
XOXOXO to Chico d' dog.. He is missed.
Thank you again.
