About this property

Enjoy Charlestons History & Carolina Sun - 3BR 2 BATH Old Mt. Pleasant

Location, location, location…
You’ll be just minutes from everything there is to do in and around Mount Pleasant, a charming suburb of Charleston. This quiet neighborhood is ideal for a leisurely walk or bike ride, and no matter which direction you head, you’ll find yourself drawn toward sandy beaches, winding marsh creeks, incredible restaurants, or the iconic Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge—offering stunning views and a fantastic pedestrian crossing experience.

Nestled in the neighborhood known as the Old Village, you’ll also find The Old Bridge (Pitt Street Bridge), which once connected Sullivan’s Island to Mount Pleasant during the Civil War era. Today, it has been transformed into a beautiful park surrounded by the Intracoastal Waterway—perfect for fishing, crabbing, shrimping, or simply watching the sun set over Charleston from one of the benches.

Dining along Shem Creek offers some of Charleston’s finest seafood, where you can watch shrimp boats dock and kayakers paddle by. A local playground is approximately ¾ of a mile away and includes public clay tennis courts. The Pitt Street area of the Old Village offers a glimpse into what Mount Pleasant felt like as Charleston first expanded onto the surrounding islands.

The home is just minutes from Sullivan’s Island, home to Fort Moultrie, where the first shots of the Civil War were fired. The fort and museum are free to visit. You’re also about two miles from Patriots Point, a renowned naval and maritime museum, with a golf course located directly across the street.

Within five minutes, you can be in downtown Charleston at the Visitor Center, where you’ll find information on all the history, culture, dining, and experiences the city and surrounding areas have to offer—far too much to list here.

If you want to be close to everything from rich history to modern coastal living, the Old Village is truly the place to stay.

About the host

Host profile image
I was born and raised in Charleston on the Isle of Palms. Just before Hurricane Hugo in 1989, my family relocated to Mount Pleasant to escape the growing beach traffic, settling in Old Mount Pleasant a block from my grandparents. While I currently live in Rock Hill, SC—just outside of Charlotte—I am actively planning a return to Charleston. In the meantime, I use this home when it’s not rented as I continue rebuilding my business presence in the Lowcountry.

Why they chose this property

The classy lady in this photo is my grandmother, one of the original owners of this home. Over the years, I have thoughtfully upgraded the property with hardwood floors throughout, an updated kitchen and bath, and new windows. This house has always been my homestead—I lived here for many years growing up—so while the home has been updated and most personal items have been removed to create a comfortable space for you to enjoy, it will always be home to me. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
