We had 6 adults, 1 infant, 1 child (5yo) and dogs stay and had plenty of space. The location was beautiful along the river and we enjoyed the short hikes to the falls.
We loved the home and the area. House was very comfortable, clean and close to everything we wanted to do. Our dogs liked it too, great area for walks and hikes.
We would definitely stay there again!!
Property was as described in the listing and served our needs well enough. The house is clean and nicely updated. Location is easily accessible to surrounding towns, and is adjacent to a lovely walking/biking trail along the inlet. Adequate parking onsite.
We picked this place as it had 2 rooms with king beds, for our 2 couples plus it was dog friendly. The owners left a dog bed for our pup to sleep in. The house is beautifully renovated. We did struggle with a lady bug problem in the family room but I think it was due to the temps and being an old house. The location is perfect along the Keuka outlet trail. We arrived at night and I wish the house was a little better lit as the property is fairly remote
We had an amazing time at the Amazing Mills. The owners were super nice and have done a great job restoring the old farmhouse. The short walk to falls in both directions were easy for little ones and the falls were beautiful. The home was well maintained and very comfortable. We will be back.
We enjoyed our stay immensely. The home has plenty of room and a fine selection of household items (kitchen utensils, bathroom supplies, games, bikes, TV access, etc.) A very nice, spacious screened-in porch.
It is in a quiet neighborhood, has plenty of shade, and a beautiful stream alongside the property.
We went King Salmon fishing on Lake Superior.
Corning Glass Museum was within reasonable driving distance. Our grandkids went to a llama pet farm, an award-winning ice cream stand featuring ice cream made with duck eggs.
Besides the nature trail which runs along the other side of the stream (ie; no hikers/walkers/bike riders on the property side ), there are numerous places to visit within easy driving distance.
All in all, it is an excellent choice for a family vacation.
Overall the stay was good. The location was convenient to restaurants, vineyards and breweries. The inside was nice, kitchen well stocked with lots of spices and the beds comfortable. 4 adults and 2 dogs were perfect for the house. Too many more people would have been crowded. The pillows weren't very comfortable so bring your own pillow if you are picky. The house doesn't have a great view nor is it as rural as we thought. It is near a parking lot for the path to the falls and across from an abandoned house. However, it was quiet with only a few people using the parking lot and it was nice to walk the path every morning and evening with the dogs. Bring bug spray because there are many mosquitoes when walking along the water. It was also nice sitting on the screened in porch listening to the water.
Amazing Mills is exactly the name for what this property is. It is secluded enough for you to feel privacy, but well positioned on the intersection of roads and the trail to get you to wherever you want to go. The two sets of local water falls are a short walk away. The town of Penn Yan has great shops and restaurants. Two of the Finger Lakes are just minutes away and any attraction in the area is easy to get to. The house is the perfect balance of restored old-fashioned charm and modern upgrades for comfort and enjoyment. The kitchen is well stocked and having 2 and a half bathrooms was perfect for our 6 occupants. We enjoyed the stream right in the backyard, the fire pit and the screened in sun porch. The house was well supplied with games, bikes and outdoor activities as well. We were able to get in some great fishing in the stream and on the lakes. We had a great time at this amazing place.
We had a wonderful stay and the house was in a perfect location to get to the wineries and Watkins Glen state park. We loved riding the bikes along the trail and using the fire pit. We also really appreciated the water you all left for us. Thank you for providing us with a lovely stay!
We stayed here for a week - great location in between Seneca and Keuka. We used the firepit, the bikes, the cornhole, the grill.. the list goes on! The host was responsive and helpful. Everything we needed, the house was equipped with. Highly recommend.

Liked: Check-in, communication, listing accuracy
Okay property but wouldn't stay again
The listing is accurate. Property is okay. There's no way we could use the fire pit or enjoy the creek because bugs are terrible. The house has window a/c units (which we knew about) but these units allowed so many bugs into the house that the upstairs ceilings would get completely covered in the evenings. This caused my daughter to have to sleep on the living room sofa as upstairs became unusable. There were bugs downstairs too but not as bad because my husband went around and taped up some of the space around the a/c units (we removed tape before we left as we didn't have permission to do this). I want to point out that these are flying bugs (mosquitos, gnats, lightning bugs and ones I cannot name). I did not notice any crawly bugs inside the house besides a few spiders/webs. The couches in the living room are absolutely the most uncomfortable furniture we have ever sat on. One of them was broken on arrival. I'm not sure how you break a couch but I think maybe a past guest must have let a little kid jump on it. I want to point out that I did not contact the property owner about any of this issues as I didn't see how they could help with the issues we had going on. We did leave a full day earlier because of the sleeping/bug situation. It would probably be a perfectly fine house in the winter when bugs have been banished but summertime was just not a great experience. Bed in master downstairs was comfortable. Everything worked as it should. Oh and the water is way too soft. The master shower became super slippery when showering because of the water so I would have to hold onto the door or risk falling. That is an easy fix if they adjust their water filtration/softener system. Overall house is fine if you don't care about the issues I listed or have no need for the upstairs rooms.
Great house and area! Also great location for day trips all over New York!
Perfect for a family getaway trip!

About the host
Hosted by Lisa Bramley
I had been living in Syracuse and fell in love with the Finger Lakes when I started traveling in the area for work. My good friend Steve buys old houses and brings them back to life. We decided to partner up and restore homes together. This is our third house we fixed up together.
Why they chose this property
We choose this property because of the great location next to the Keuka Outlet trail. It is close to two waterfalls, and is a great place for a day hike, a bike ride or just walking the dogs at the end of the day.
What makes this property unique
This house is really special to us. It was condemned and abandoned when we bought it. It took over a year to restore it. It was a very slow process, but we are really proud of it. We were thrilled to be contacted by people who grew up there and remembered it from its early days and were so happy to see it come back to life.
