Perfect little place for our weekend stay. It has its own private enterance and fenced area behind the owners home but they are separate. Quiet neighborhood and not to terrible of a drive from down town San Antonio!
Adorable place. Very convenient to national shooting complex. Could use more electrical outlets and light fixtures that work. For some reason they were confused I was even there and woke me up at 12 am by entering the room because someone else had said they had a reservation. Was very awkward. But again, super cute place.
First impressions aren't great but if you can get past that and make it inside the accommodations, you’ll be pleasantly surprised. You have to go through a shoddy gate and down an alley with some barking dogs and a not well loved courtyard before getting to the actual rental. Inside it's clean, bright and spacious with plenty of room for 2. There is no stove but there is a hot plate, a coffee maker and a small fridge.
Check was exactly as advertised, and they even allowed us to check in a few minutes early since we got in town earlier than expected. Place was clean and had everything we needed. Will definitely be using again, when needed.
My daughter (stationed in Corpus Christ Naval base) drove up to see my son graduate from Air Force BMT. The host was nearby in case we needed anything. They were very gracious. We had an excellent stay. Thank you!!!!
We really enjoyed our stay, being able to "come home" after a long day at Schlitterbahn and also Fiesta Texas was really nice. We know know where we will stay next time we come to town. The only thing is the decorative door to the kcita should have some kind of latch on the inside to keep the wind from opening it. On our 2nd night it was a little windy and kept slamming making a lot of noise.
The property is exactly as described. The only thing that is undersold is how responsive and helpful the manager is! They helped with the simplest of questions with no hesitation. Bed is very comfy and the decor is adorable! My young son and I felt safe moving around alone, even at night. Quick note: AC/Heater unit in kitchen ceiling is controlled by remote mounted near door. Parking is on the street but very close to entrance.
We had a lovely time exploring San Antonio with the K-Cita as base camp! Nice and secure, private but with on-site hosts. For future improvements, I would recommend a latch on the bar wood door (it creaks and groans when the wind catches it), a stronger flow shower head, and stops on that bathroom barn door so it stays closed when it should! The beds and bath linens were heavenly, and I’m pretty picky! We didn’t cook there, but sure appreciated the coffee pot and microwave. Thanks for a fantastic stay!
We had a quick 2 day getaway to a graduation at Lackland AFB. We didn't spend alot of time here but was a great place to sleep. It was clean and decorated cute. My only con was we got in after dark and it was hard to find when you don't know where you are going. The owner happened to be outside when we pulled up and she helped us get in which was very nice. The stairs to loft that help a queen mattress were uneven and different heights which was fine for me but if younger kids or older adults are staying you have to be very careful. There was a cute and cozy yard area if you want to spend some time outside but we never had they chance...a great place to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning. Location was fine for us...we were about 15-20 min from Riverwalk and Lackland AFB. Again it was hard to find the first time in the dark until you know where you going. Overall a cute little place for a quick getaway.
We overall enjoyed our stay here. I stayed with my 10-year-old daughter, and it was the lerfect size for us. It would probably be a little too cozy for any more than 3 people. For the price, I don't think you can get much better!
Here is a breakdown of some pros and cons we encountered:
Pros
Location - 10 minutes to Sea World and 20 minutes to Downtown/River Walk
Very clean
Comfortable beds, plenty of pillows!
Cozy and well-decorated
Very nice outside area
Roku on TVs for streaming
Very fast responses from owners
Cons
Upper bed was not made
Strange/uneven stairs going up to the upper bed - my daughter hurt herself a few times getting up there, but eventually got the hang of it.
Refrigerator did not keep our food cold
No cooktop or oven - we didn't need it, just something to note. There was a microwave and airfreight, though.
Plumbing in the bathroom sometimes smelled very bad.
Almost no hot water - it lasted maybe 5 minutes before going cold.
No bathroom privacy with barn door
No lamps - just a personal preference, but it would be nice to have a couple of lamps around for light without needing the bright overhead lights.
Even though there are a few areas of improvement, I would definitely stay here again!
What we needed after a full day at SeaWorld. The water pressure wasn't the best, but I am starting to think it is just that area. The TV wouldn't connect. We were comfortable and slept well.
