We enjoyed a quiet weekend getaway, it was close to lots of local hiking, and semi secluded. The home was clean and the host was easy to contact with any questions. 10/10 we would stay here again, thank you again for a wonderful weekend!
We really enjoyed our stay. The property was nice and clean and cute. We really enjoyed how quiet it was in the middle of nature. Next time we will book a whole week! The property owner was very helpful and responsive, as well.

So glad you all enjoyed our lake cabin hope you do get to stay a week next time !
Taking a trip to Tennessee to celebrate my daughter's college graduation was a last minute decision and we booked Eagles Rest with little planning. It was a nice spot to stay while we hiked the various state parks around the area. Rebecca was attentive and made the entire experience painless, she even provided us with sight-seeing ideas. Cabin was clean and had everything we needed to feel like home. Would definitely go back.
We were three adult sisters that really needed a break from reality! This was perfect!
Pretty typical VRBO experience. The owner responder immediately to my questions before and during our rental. We planned on doing Saturday to Saturday but we dragged or feet and list the last Saturday so we had to leave on Friday. But everything we just as it said it would be.

I am glad you and your sisters enjoyed your stay! I wish we could have extended your stay longer, unfortunately that extra night was already booked for another guest. If it had not been booked would have been happy to extend! Hope to host you all again sometime!
Very nice place. No bugs at all. Very clean. Did not use dog pen for my puppy but still had a ball. The driveway was a bit of surprise how steep it was going up or down hill. We got used to it. The owner was very attentive to any /all questions we had. Overall a very enjoyable week.
We had a wonderful, relaxed stay. Rebecca was a great host - great communication and very accommodating. Would definitely recommend this stay! Our dog enjoyed it too!
Eagles Rest was spotlessly clean, well equipped, and very comfortable. It is unfortunate that the lake level is so low, but since we don't have a boat, it did not impact our thorough enjoyment of our stay.
Exactly what We wanted. A place to stay with seclusion and quiet. Only sounds we heard were the wind blowing, birds singing and squirrels/chipmunks playing. Cabin was clean and comfortable. Host was accommodating and brought supplies that she noticed were missing from the cabin. Please be aware that Lake water level is down and that fishing/kayaking from cabin is not a good idea. There are parks around with historical sites and hiking paths. Road is not busy so can walk while still feeling a part of nature.
Beautiful view of the lake from cabin. I would love to go back.
The only reason that I did not give 5 stars across the board is the water level of lake being down but that is beyond the control of Host. I would rent the cabin again.
This property was an adorable getaway for my significant other, our dog and I. We had walkable access to the water for our kayak, fishing, and swimming. The dog area was a perfect bonus when we wanted alone time. The area was quiet except for a car here and there. Just beware of the bears! Will definitely be planning a trip back soon.
Our experience at this property was exceptional. The host was always prompt if we had questions and offered lots of suggestions for activities in the area. Our cabin was very clean and offered a cozy atmosphere. The lake view from the sitting area is beautiful. You can walk across the street for lake access. We would love to come back and visit in the fall when the leaves change.
Wonderful property with a wonderful host. Everything was as described and the location was truly lovely. We were able to enjoy a stress free weekend at the lake and are extremely grateful.
The property was exactly as described! Quiet, plenty of space, and a great weekend get-away. The owner was so responsive and helpful to make sure that we had everything we needed and make the most of our time.
The marina is literally just around the bend and there is plenty of space to park your boat if you need/want.
Downtown Waverly is just a few minute drive away and the locals are super friendly.
This is a great location and I would highly recommend it!!

I love the outdoors especially lake and river sports like kayaking, SUP stand up paddle board and boating. Kentucky Lake is water sports and fishing paradise.
Why they chose this property
Eagles Rest rustic cabin and spectacular lake views set the stage for a relaxing and enjoyable weekend or time away from home and work. Public boat dock is nearby. The cabin itself has been recently updated with lighting, tile floors, and furnishings but retains cabin character with the exposed real wood logs and stone chimney. It does have modern conveniences like cooling, heating, running water, etc.
What makes this property unique
Eagles Rest Cabin has spectacular lake views from almost every point, plus the drive to it is remote feeling there are no houses the last few miles, only hills, lake and creeks. It is different from many of the area lake houses, most of the lake houses are in communities surrounded by houses on small lots. Eagles Rest cabin has only one other dwelling in site, a barndominium under construction that the owners stay in occasionally while working.
