Nice “tiny house” close to center of town and all restaurants and shops. Served as a cozy base for waterfall excursions and short hikes to local observation points.
I was looking for a place to relax, and this quiet neighborhood was just the place. Home was well appointed, and convenient to town. Very clean and the owners were responsive to questions.
We came for 3 nights, my mom and me. Walking distance to downtown Highlands. Was very comfortable! Bed was great, and perfect size house. Loved the little porch. Shower was bigger than I was expecting! Had a great time!
We went to Highlands for our anniversary weekend and wanted a place that was in walking distance to downtown. The cabin was perfect for us. It's small but had plenty of room for both of us and a great screened in porch where we could enjoy the cool evenings. It's a short walk to all the downtown restaurants and shops with sidewalks on almost the entirety of the walk. We will definitely be back!
We loved the location! A quick drive into town, or you can walk it if the weather is nice. Perfect for two people. The screen porch is very cozy and we were able to cook breakfast every morning. We appreciated the washer and dryer, and the dishwasher.
Just wanted to summarize by saying to stay there was excellent and the hose was very responsive to demands that we had questions. Love the location to downtown Highlands and will definitely return again. Well done.
Super “tiny house”! Everything as listed and absolutely perfect for us- walk to everything in town. Then get in the hiking we love. Will stay again. Liked that the check- out was 11 rather than 10.
This is a great cabin for one person or a couple with easy access by car or a ten minute walk to Main Street in Highlands. It is also a convenient base for excursions out to Cashiers, Sapphire, etc. Matthew and Alexandra, the owners, are quick to respond to questions and are great to work with. Excellent ease of access to the property.
This little charmer was like new but in an established and convenient neighborhood. It was well appointed and we were quite pleased with the cleanliness. The reservation process and check-in/check-out were flawless. A "do over" for certain.
My wife and I care for my mom and we got two nights away. We had a blast. We went snow tubing and ice skating at Scaley Mountain. The home was clean and had everything we needed. We would definitely stay again.
We had a wonderful time visiting Highlands. Our accommodations were perfect for us and we will definitely stay here again. We spent our mornings and evenings on the cozy screened-in porch.
We definitely recommend staying in this comfortable and cozy cottage.
We loved the cabin and everything about it...location, condition, appointments, etc.

About the host

We have a passion for traveling and adventuring and just could not seem to stop booking trips to Highlands, NC. We recently purchased our tiny cottage, which we affectionately call "Carolina Pines."
We call ourselves the "Nomadic Lifestylers" - Find us on Insta, where we document all of our traveling and adventuring, whether its at home in Louisiana or at our second home in Highlands.
Why they chose this property
While we're based out of Louisiana, we live about a week out of every month in our cozy cottage. While in Highlands, we work remotely and try to live a balanced lifestyle, with hiking and all things outdoors.
One of the best parts of Highlands is being outside in the pure crisp mountain air. Carolina Pines allows you to take full advantage of being outside being 1/4 mile from the town center. In addition to being in such close proximity to the town center, you are also just a stones throw from many beautiful hikes and waterfalls, including Highland's beautiful Biological Station and Nature Center which is only a 4 minute walk from Carolina Pines!
