What a great home in a secluded and relaxing location. We were close enough to town for everything we needed but had all the privacy and space we were looking for. Although it's an older property, it is nicely renovated and everything was in great shape. We'd absolutely stay here again!
What a great place to make memories with your family. The location is perfect, with it outside of town, but easy to access. It’s a beautiful home that gave me vibes of my youth, during my return ‘home’. We really enjoyed the pond, with one of my children catching their first fish. Stephanie was great and even returned my call promptly with a question.
Our stay at BuckHaven was nothing short of magical! I have always dreamed of having the whole family together for the Thanksgiving weekend and this wonderful, BIG, old (and I say old in the best of ways!) house allowed me to make that dream come true. We laughed, played volleyball, football, basketball and FISHED! We cooked, ate, played games and sat around the fire pit at night, gazing at the stars. The house is very spacious, yet cozy, and the location, just a few minutes from the center of town, is perfect. I highly recommend BuckHaven for family reunions or a mini vacation with friends. Stephanie, our host, is very responsive and sweet. We will be back!
We enjoyed our stay. We loved the home with all the antiques although it did make us nervous about causing any damage. This is a great place for spreading out with a lot of family members. Not as close to downtown Thomasville as we would have liked - but the drive is quick. We would recommend staying there. It did take us a few days to figure out how to turn on the gas fireplace. It was supposed to be on - but it took my son figuring out that there was an on switch by the logs that needed to be turned on. We did not want to mess with it as there was a sign not to touch the logs.
Beautiful setting and location. The home was well furnished and comfortable. A few adjustments would make it stellar. Be sure to bring extra paper products (only half a roll of paper towels provided) and shower soap (not provided). I hadn't noticed when reserving, but there's no TV in the bedrooms. Internet Wi-Fi was slow and unstable, but I understand that's how it normally is in that part of town. Overall it still was a nice stay.
Wonderful fireplace, kitchen, appliances and living area!
I am from Thomasville so we travel back and do an annual extended Family Christmas every year so we can see our family that lives there are close by. We also have other family that travel in from out of state so we have to have a house big enough to hold 2 to 3 families for sleeping. We have a large family so space is ALWAYS an issue. Until this year. This house was large and had so a variety of rooms for family to sit and talk or eat or both :) This is a classic home and they have done a very good job decorating to keep that classic feel. The antique furniture is beautiful. The kitchen is large and updated so there is plenty of room to cook and chat at the same time. There are several outside seating areas, including a couple of balconies, one with outdoor furniture for lounging. SOOO much open space to play soccer or football. And a small fishing pond for those who love to sit around the water with a pole. Go outside at night and look at all the stars! We enjoyed our stay very much and hope to book it again next year.
